Kohler Rialto K-3386-0

This part fits perfectly the Rialto 3386 Toilet and is very easy to install. Getting the water out is the hardest part. Tools needed large crescent wrench or channel locks. Genuine Part was sent.

Perfect replacement for my old 1997 Rialto 1-piece toilet fill valve

I was skeptical about this fill valve as it looked very different and cheap (plastic) compare to my original part (all metal) in the toilet. After doing much research online and lack of other alternatives, I have decided to give it a try. Boy, am I glad I did that, this replacement is so easy to install and worked so much better than the original part. It took only 20 min to replace the part, most of the time was spent on emptying the water from the tank. The water height adjustment was extremely easy, just turn a screw at the top of the unit with a Philip screw driver to lower or raise the water level (the instruction did not mention that feature by the way). The unit does make a bit more noise than the original because it was made with plastic rather than metal. The original part made so little noise when filling which made you wonder if the water was actually going. This one you could hear it going but still a lot quieter than the other toilets that require a tube to fill. Now, here comes the good part, the new unit only took 35 sec to fill the tank whereas the original part took 1min 5 sec when it was new. At the end, the old unit took 2 mins to fill even after I tried flushing it. Some reviews mentioned about drilling a hole for the tube connection. I am not sure this part was meant for toilet requiring a fill tube. The drilling was not needed in my case, because my toilet never used a fill tube to begin with. That's why it was so quiet. The water was supposed to come out at the BOTTOM of the unit directly into the water tank to lesson the noise. This unit can be flushed easily as a routine maintenance. All it takes is one twist of the fill valve and it comes apart for flushing (check out the video in Kohler's official website). The old metal unit was mush harder to do. Since this unit is made with plastic so I don't expect scale to build up inside the unit to plug up the water supply and slow down the fill time like the metal unit would. I am glad I bought this unit.

The valve seems good but the refill tube and clip is NOT included.

This unit installed fairly easily and seems to be working fine. I used it on a Kohler K3386 single piece toilet. The previous fill valve did NOT have a refill tube. This new unit has a nipple for a a rubber refill tube but for some strange reason the tubing was NOT included in the package, nor clip, both of which were shown on the diagram. I think this new valve is meant for older single piece toilets some of which need a refill tube and some of which don’t. My previous valve did not have a refill tube. If you do need a refill tube, you have to drill out a hole through inside of the nipple. I guess Kohler must assume if the fill valve you are replacing already has a refill tube and clip, you can reuse the tube and clip, but the directions don’t say anything about drilling a whole inside the nipple for the refill tube to pass water. So before you order this replacement fill valve, be sure to check to see if the existing valve that you are replacing does or doesn’t need a refill tube and clip. If it does, be prepared to use the old tube and clip and to drill the required hole. My old fill valve (Part # 84679-AA Model 703) had a copper intake tube - very strong construction. This replacement fill valve is entirely plastic. When installed, the top of the valve rose higher than the lip of the tank, but fortunately the lid is recessed so the lid fit snugly over the tank without a problem anyway. We’ll see if the new fill valve lasts as long as the previous one. Good luck!

Was just like the old part due to the age of the toilet, but it worked just fine

Removing the old part(s) was easier than expected. I used a plastic measuring cup to empty most of the remaining water from the tank and poured it down the flapper shut which feeds into the bowl. Then I used a sponge to finish up the remaining water emptying that into a 5 gal bucket. I gave this four stars because there was a part listed on the package that was not in the package, and that was the refill clear rubber tubing and the 'S' clip that holds the refill tube in place was also not in the package. Rather than go through a return and have to wait on another order I went to the local hardware store which had a refill tube kit that fit perfectly - for $5.

Like a mystery novel.

1. They provide a fill tube but the nipple is dry. Water comes from inside at the bottom. And, this one is important; 2. The fill rate is so painfully slow. About 3-5 minutes to fill between flushes; and no, the water is not constricted anywhere. 3. Very short on instructions. The printed instructions on the back of the packaging does not match up to the contents provided.

It works great for the Kohler Rialto

The valve is sold by Kohler, but it is made by Fluidmaster. It was a perfect match for our 20-year old Kohler Rialto. Installation was easy. It fills very quickly, and the noise is not bad. It seems better made than the original valve. As others said, you don't need a fill tube as it fills from the bottom. The price is very competitive. Recommended.

Very easy install. Do not need to drill a hole in the top for a fill tube because it fills from the bottom. Was told by Kohler that to keep costs down, it’s all plastic. We’ll see how long it lasts. Otherwise, overall satisfied

This is the replacement part for the original assembly. Genuine Kohler part, was an easy install. This fit our 2003 San Raphael perfectly.

Kohler Rialto replacement pump

I never write reviews, but was impressed enough to write for this product. Surprisingly it took me longer to remove the old pump, than install this one. This is a second replacement for my rialto once piece toilet. First time when I had to replace the original pump, I could not find genuine Kohler, and had to use a no name Home Depot generic one. That generic took forever to install, was leaking so I ended up screwing it on super tight, and it was constantly overfilling and wasting water. I ended up sawing it off - the nut froze on it so tight. With this one I expected to use gaskets or putty to keep it from leaking, but to my surprise - it did not require any ! Just put it in, screw the nut and presto - it just worked and no leaks. Oh, my. I guess - that's quality. Delivery from Amazon was very quick. Also a pleasant surprise.
