Solid cabinet that's cut cost over time

My old cabinet that was already installed when we bought our place 12 years ago, finally broke apart as the hinges corroded or just gave way and started bending/breaking. We live in a prewar NYC building, with solid walls (not drywall) of brick or plaster or some combination. I was worried about finding a same size cabinet so I wouldnt have to change the opening size, and to my luck, the old cabinet still had a sticker with the part number on the back. A quick google, and this one came up!! It fit perfectly. But it just felt different. Now, I dont mind, since I have no idea how much the older one cost....if it was more expensive then the changes would be justified to reduce the costs. If they just cut quality but kept the price up, well, welcome to the world of consumer products. I weighed them both, and this one, though the same model as the old one, is 5lbs lighter. I then realized nearly everything is different and not in a good way.....only 2 instead of 3 glass shelves, shorter narrower glass shelves, the shelf holders are much more flimsy with very thin pegs that hold them in, no extra shelf holders (pray you dont brake one), the inside mirror is partial and not full like the old version. more plastic and less metal. The only upside I'm hoping for is that the lighter door means less pressure on the hinges, and so they hopefully last longer. But, with my luck, they probably reduced the quality of the hinges too!

Pleased with this medicine cabinet

Tried several medicine cabinets but this one is the best. Watched installation video because box instructions poor not including prime tape on the instructions making it even more difficult. Hung it myself but took it a little bit to figure it out. Mirror on the inside too. Purchased it used which made it much more affordable.

Perfect modern medicine cabinet for a variety of bathroom styles

I have now used these cabinets in two bathroom remodels and I wouldn't hesitate to use it on my remaining bathroom to remodel. The sleek design fits in with modern bathrooms very well and the interior can be configured in many ways.

A little pricier than some but the quality is worth it.

Very nice build quality, it is one of those items that you spend a little more for and get a quality product that should last the life of the house.

Great Cabinet - Highly Recommended

Bought this cabinet because it was small with a beveled edge. Most frameless mirrors in this size range don't come with that feature; it's a finishing touch that adds a bit of polish to a rather simple mirror. The mirrored interior and glass shelves add to that polish. I didn't run into any of the issues mentioned in other reviews. When initially installed, the door sat a little proud. Adjusted one of the hinges and it was fine. Shelf pegs fit too. The plastic used on the frame and interior is really plasticky. A different color or finish or both would be welcome (or maybe more aluminum like the inside). When I took it out the box, the plastic jumped out at me but I rarely notice it during use. If you're replacing an existing recessed mirror like I was, note the size of the cabinet. The cabinet for this mirror was quite a bit larger than the one it replaced despite having the same finished size (15x26). Took some extra demo. The glass shelves are 3" deep by 12-7/8"wide Items about 3-1/2" deep can clear the door. I'm able to store a Waterpik in it. Although imperfect, I highly recommend this mirror sized for small spaces. It looks good and is well made. The tactile feel of the interior plastic is the biggest downside.

Looks great, some parts are plastic

For the money, I would expect this all made of aluminum. It has a few plastic pieces that are downright ugly. They should have spent more on these units.

PERFECT- hire a professional to lock in the door if you can't figure it out

Bought this from Amazon Warehouse which ended up being cheaper than going to the Blue or Orange Big Box Store and buying one of their store brand/cheaper versions of this cabinet. I'll be upfront, I am a contractor and installed this in my own home: Installation was simple, place the cabinet inside of the framed hole and how level the cabinet is. Screw in one of the corners of the cabinet and recheck level and mark a level mark. Screw in another screw and rechecking level after you put in each screw. The tricky part is having the door aligning up and closing flush- trick to this is patience and using a hand screw driver rather than a power drill. I see many reviewers having trouble with this part- my advice get a professional to install it if you can't figure out before you render the hinges useless and have the glass door fall off and potentially hurt you. My Amazon warehouse cabinet was perfect, it came in an opened box but included all the necessary hardware and items as if you bought it sealed- my assumption the previous buyer returned it when they couldnt figure out how to get the door to close and sit flush as one of the hinges was on the verge of falling off the insert itself.

Luxurious Medicine Cabinet

This product is excellent! I installed it in a recessed arrangement and it looks fantastic. The dimensions of the frame allow mounting between 2 framing studs that are 16" apart as the distance between the studs is around 14.5" and the frame is 14" wide. So you have room to adjust the mounting to be level and for the front framing to cover over the cut away in the drywall. The door hinges are adjustable for any fine tuning. When completed this medicine cabinet looks amazing and of great value. Kohler does it again! Great quality like their toilets. We love the beveled glass at the front and the mirrored interior along with the polished aluminum. The look is very luxurious. The packaging is efficient and effective. Once again, excellent product!

Excellent cabinet

Originally we were considering a cheaper MDF cabinet, but are very glad we spent a bit more to get this metal one. It is solidly built and looks very nice. It comes with hardware for either a surface mount or recessed installation. We installed it recessed and it was very easy to install. The door hinge adjustment is also quite simple.

Impressive Quality

Not the cheapest cabinet, but the quality shows. I installed this cabinet on the surface of the wall above the sink and under a light fixture. This is a basement bathroom with some limited headroom. Thus the light fixture was a little low. Nonetheless, there was ample room even with the drain lever in the extended position. The installation is easy. But I installed it 3 times! I centered it initially over the sink. But the light fixture is not centered over the sink and it was too obvious that the cabinet was not centered under the light fixture. How this light fixture and the cabinet are aligned is much more important than the cabinet's alignment with the sink. (who knew?) I ran into problems when I tried to move the hangers at the top of the cabinet without moving the bar underneath that secures the cabinet to the wall. The bar underneath the cabinet actually fits in a grove in the bottom of the cabinet. The cabinet bottom is an extruded aluminum piece and the grove is also used for screws that secure the sides to the bottom. The metal bar needs to be centered well enough with the cabinet to clear the screws in the slot. The third hanging was a charm and the cabinet is very secure. I highly recommend this cabinet.
