not easy to install but it works.

You have to press it down so hard that you swear it is going to break. Once it is installed it works perfectly,

I saw an earlier review where a guy, who said he's a big guy, had a HARD time installing this. I can relate, because the directions are a bit unclear to the layperson. "If the base was removed, apply dish soap between the gasket and the flange of the replacement base." This means applying dish soap to the TOP surface of the gasket and is absolutely essential, because it allows the gasket to compress and expand out from the flange. Otherwise the gasket can't compress properly, and it's extremely hard to jam the base down hard enough to rotate the three plastic tabs at the bottom to engage the base of the tank. So hard, in fact, that it's more likely that you'll break the tabs or other parts of the base first. Oh, and if you have to replace the base, remove the canister first. That was not clear either in the instructions. Hope this helps!

Not hard at all to install - need to lubricate it

A lot of people left reviews about how hard this is to install. I saw 2 good recommendations to make the install easier. One was to put the gasket in the freezer and the other was to rub dish detergent on the gasket and base. I did both and it worked great. I didn't have to exert any unusual force. I'm 65 and weigh 130 pounds. If I can do it, you can too. Just put the rubber gasket in the freezer for about an hour, take it out of the freezer and spread detergent around the gasket and base.

Bought every flush for a Kohler and finally this was the right one

Seriously, I bought 4 other flush valves that claimed they fit the toilet I had. Brought every single one home and it did not fit. I know I should have brought the broken part with me, but one would think a flush valve is pretty standard. It is not. Finally ordered this one and it fit! It took ten whole minutes to install and worked perfectly. Follow the instructions and absolutely use the dish soap like it says-do not try to install it without the dish soap!
