Decent little camera for certain things
I know this camera is like 8 years old or something, but I've never owned an action camera before, and at this price point it seemed like a good snag. Obviously as I'm somewhat of a newbie with cams, it's taking me a little bit to get acquainted with all the settings and trying to figure out the video editing. When I use the camera with the app (SP360 1080) it looks a bit pixelated on my phone screen (this camera does not have a viewing screen built in) which was frustrating at first, but once it's up on my computer monitor it actually looks pretty good! For the price, the accessories, or someone just getting into the action camera world, not a bad buy at all. Hell, you could destroy the thing and it wouldn't even cost you a hundred bucks!

Not perfect, But a Decent 360 Degree Video Camera
The SP360 camera is on the leading edge of the 360 degree video technology. As such, it as well as most of the upcoming "consumer" type 360 cameras, suffer from less quality resolution than what we are now used to in HD camera video. On YouTube, the video is only currently viewable as "immersive" 360 degree video using the Chrome browser or the Android app. Which allows the viewer to pan and tilt to view the entire 360 degree scene. The Android app on a smartphone or tablet is the best experience in my opinion. The "front" mode allows the camera to function similarly to a GoPro style action camera with less resolution choices. The camera itself seems well constructed. Although I do have an issue with the battery compartment cover. The sliding latch does not seem to hold the battery cover closed. So the cover can fall off. A fair amount of accessories accompany the camera depending upon which "kit" that you purchase. The lens "hood" is an important accessory that helps to keep fingerprints off the lens cover. One glaring omission in my opinion is the lack of a tripod adapter. Although there is a tripod socket on the side of the camera, it is for the "front" facing camera mode. And does not orient the camera so that the lens points upward in the 360 degree mode. By using one of the SP360 cases, some metric hardware and a GoPro tripod adapter I have a work-around solution that works well. (See photo.) I wish the accessories were sold separately. As of this review I do not believe they are. Battery life is about 2 hours. Much better than my GoPros. The Android app is workable but could use some polish. I have several SP360 videos on YouTube at my basicbill1 and basicbill2 channels if you'd like to see what's possible. This is the beginning of the 360 degree video age. Which may or may not take off. If you're interested in getting involved, the SP360 is a relatively inexpensive entry. Just don't expect too much right now with the current consumer technology.

Solid for simple shots
This is a great entry camera and will be able to get yourself some good angles. Will take time to get familiar with but you will enjoy it for sure

Opinion essay here, please take with a grain of salt.
This item is amazing for the price. I think when I purchased it from the Amazon seller it was $155 each. So I got two. I used these for a year, the only thing is that I figured out that the focus was bad. I actually contacted and went into JK imaging or Kodak which ever your familiar with and got them to replace these cameras with the Kodak SP360 4K. I have been working with those cameras for over a month. The first two weeks I figured out that the focus was bad on these also, so very strange. So I updated the firmware and that solved the overheating issue, well actually the guy Amir at Kodak/JK Imaging told me to record with the door open and now I do that. So I realized that the lens on the camera moves and when I plugged it into an HDMI monitor I decided to move the lens and it did, so I changed the focus and now these new cameras are amazing. I am so stoked on the focus and am currently going to put together a review video. I realize that I could change the focus when I had to do the same thing with a Gopro Hero 3 Black when I changed the lens on that camera. This is a fun camera, but if you want to use it for VR you need to upgrade to the Kodak 4K SP360 and physically move the lens built-in while connected to an HDMI HD monitor to check your item is in focus. I have reviewed other peoples examples of this camera online on Youtube and it seems to be a common problem with this camera that sometimes the focus isn't totally spec'd out at the factory, well that is my opinion.

Cámara excelente!!! Con ligeros detalles.
Primero... (ES UNA CÁMARA GRANDIOSA!!!) Tiene ya algunos años en el mercado y sinceramente, se defiende muy bien contra cámaras mucho más reconocidas y recientes; La resolución es completamente ajustable, el Bitrate es muy bueno, los FPS van desde los 10 a los 120. Materiales muy buenos, bien construida, se siente y se ve resistente, muy bien detallada, los accesorios "la mayoría" son de buena calidad, pero en el paquete Explorer, la carcasa es muy delicada para el fin que fue incluida, el resto de componentes de montaje si es de buena calidad, tuve que comprar a parte la carcasa sumergible "cara por cierto". Recomendación, los componentes que vienen en el paquete "aqua" son iguales que el Explorer, salvo que es más útil el aqua, puesto que la carcasa del Explorer no sirve del todo, así que recomiendo comprar el paquete Aqua. Tomar en cuenta que para que grabe adecuadamente, debe tener insertada una memoria equivalente a la Sandisk Xtreme PRO o cualquiera que sea (U3) V30 A1 con tasas de lectura mínimo de 90 MB/seg y escritura mínima de 90 MB/seg; De lo contrario los videos se verán cortados, con problemas de audio e incluso fotogramas en negro y la transferencia de archivos al ordenador será eterna. La cámara la llevo en el casco de moto, consideren colocar bien los adaptadores e instalarla en un punto donde no estorbe ni interfiera con su mica, es una cámara algo pesada pese a su tamaño y cansa si la llevas sobre la barbilla, las tomas son excelentes ahí, pero es agotador. La Bolsita está increíble!!! La puedes llevar en el cinturón o colgarla con el seguro incluído, además lleva dentro un trapito suave para limpiar las lentes. No cometan mi error, interactúen bien con la cámara y aprendan a operarla a detalle, yo no me di cuenta de un protector de lente "de bajo del protector de lente color negro", además de funciones extras en la app de PIXPRO.

Good to trial ideas but not true 2K and not excellent quality
First things first. If you pay this little for a 360 camera then you can not expect great quality. Reasonable 360 cameras start at thousands of pounds and good ones start at the price of a fairly decent car. The lenses to get high quality in fish eye recording or playback are phenomenally expensive. So temper your expectations. That said it's not bad. The web interface is very basic and rather klunky so I found I often just started recording from the buttons on the side. There are several annoying defects in the lens (but see above about expectations). Sound quality is not great but I didn't expect anything else out of a box this small. The one annoyance with this is that it is not true 360 2K. It will record an image 2k pixels wide but not when recording 360 video or images. So it you want a 2k x 1280 image distorted onto a full dome view this will give it a go. If you want a true full dome recording then you are limited to 1440 x 1440. That said it allows me to record videos for playback in a full dome environment. I use those videos but this really is just sufficient to p[lay with the ideas and trial them before possibly upgrading to something that might let me do 4K full dome videos once I know the ideas will work.

VERY GOOD VIDEOS UNDERWATER
I have purchased my third Kodak Pixpro SP 360 for a purpose. An underwater impression of a swimming pool during swimming events. It works very well. The action activated video gives very good results. There's only a minor setback: the images is never full 360°. A thin slice of frame is cut out . Never the same way. In my first camera (which went lost) it was on one side, but not too evident. In the second one, it was too evident (sent back). In this one is on both the sides, but negligible. One warning. It takes micro sim up to 32 Gb only.

Mucho mejor de lo que parece
The media could not be loaded. Excelente calidad de imagen, sin exigirle demasiado por el precio y la función, es decir, no esperes calidad cinematográfica, pero si cubre muy las expectativas básicas, contiene bastantes accesorios, aunque no cuenta con la funda hermética para sumergirla. El lente trae un capuchón de cristal para protegerlo de rayones, sólo cuidado porque se mancha demasiado fácil, pero nada que no se remedie con el trapo de microfibra incluido. En especial me fueron muy útiles el accesorio para la bicicleta/motocicleta, el accesorio adhesivo para superficies curvas (para el casco) y los extensores.
