Does what I need it to do
It works as it’s designed, my only complaint is it doesn’t have a secondary latch and can unspool when not in use

I was not really impressed
I think this is rather cheaply made and put together. It did work but not smoothly and not without a lot of issues. My opinion is that you should probably spend more and get a better product.

Well built
Nice well built tool. Seems rugged and easy pulls.

Gets the job done.
At first it jammed horribly. I took it apart cautiously and found the two halves were assembled in the wrong configuration. Now it's working as it should. Was able to run a camera through 50 feet of lateral sewer line with this.

Good tape overall but you have to know how to wind it up
First, this is a good quality fish tape that is the right balance of sturdiness and flexibility. The last foot or so is perfectly straight and the rest of the tape comes off the reel with very little curl to it. However, you have to apply some tension to the tape as you wind it up. Especially the last 5-10 feet. If you don't, it will get bound up inside the reel and you'll struggle to get it untangled. But just hold pressure on the tape as you wind it up and it stores just fine! This is because of how straight the tape comes off the roll. If it were easier to roll up, the tape would also have an annoying curl to it. I know -- I have another tape (GB brand) that is so curly I almost can't use it. But it rolls up easily! There is one change I'd like to make. I wish the foot markings started at 1 at the end of the tape. I'd like to know how many feet of tape I've pushed into the conduit I'm fishing. Since the foot marking start at 50 and then count down, I just know how many feet are left on the reel. I have to subtract from 50 to see how many feet I've pushed out.

Overall it did exactly what I needed to.
My only complaint is that once it was extended, it was a little difficult to reel it back in. However, I would buy it again. It definitely made my task easier and seems like it will lay me a very long time.

Great fish tape
After using nylon draw wires buying a set of these metal fish tapes was a good move. Took a bit of getting used to at first after using nylon for years but once used to the rigidity they are superb and are also great at having to catch onto disappeared awkward cables if you have to go in to do some remedial work after another electrician. Very happy with them and, to be honest, I wish that I had bought the next length up in the range but these work just fine 99% of the time. With a bit of thought extra long runs can be done easily too but having the extra length is always a good thing, she says, so get it first as last. Great tool !

Costs more but worth the extra money
I saw reports of cheaper versions of this tool not being very durable, being hard to use etc. I decided to bite the bullet and buy this KLEIN tools version. I am pleased I did. The tool is easy to use, the steel tape is not coated in loads of oil, it rolls back into its casing quite easily. It is etched at 1 foot intervals which is something I had not thought about before purchasing but proved very useful. I am glad I bought this product and not a cheaper imitation.

Great bit of kit, OIL!
Great bit of kit, very useful gets stiff very easy though. A spray of GT85 for WD40 in the cassette sorts it out for a while. Might try some grease on it also.

It's a must tool.... Great value
Every engineer should have one of these. Already used it and it saved me so much time on an install.

Not that great unfortunately
First things first, a lot of the reviewers comment on how difficult it is to put the wire back in. I believe most are trying to manually push the wire back in, that's now how it works, you simply reel it back in. I did not have an issue with that, well I almost didn't, keep reading. The tool is 50 feet long as it claims but good luck fishing anything past 5 feet. Here's the issue, the wire is stored in a curved manner into the holder, so when the wire comes out, it naturally tends to be curved and not straight. Once it's in the wall, it keeps curving in every direction making it impossible to push anything straight through past maybe 5 feet. I had to keep making holes every 5-6 feet to take the wire out and fish it again. If you try reeling the entire wire out in a completely open room, you'll notice that it's impossible to do all 50 feet in a straight line, now imagine that in a wall where you can't see what you're doing. That's one star off. The second star I'm removing is because the wire itself isn't very durable. As you're trying to fish, because of the curvature, it's more prone to bump into things. This causes the wire to bend. So now you have a curved wire that's bent in zigzag formations. To make matters worst, because it's now bent, it creates friction when you try to reel it back in. So much so that it keeps getting jammed into the device. I actually had to unscrew the whole thing and manually use the wire by hand. Another star gone. I only had two walls to use it on and one ceiling, it's pretty broken now and I don't think I'll be able to use it again. I'm giving it two stars instead of one because I did manage to get the wiring done, I just had to make considerably more holes than expected and I can no longer use this because the wire is destroyed. I really wanted to like this product but I cannot recommended it to anyone.
