Quiet and pretty

This hand mixer replaced a previous 20-year old hand mixer that saw a lot of hard use and abuse in its life. Hope this one lasts as long. (The old one died because the collet that holds the beaters wore out and the beaters were too loose to keep spinning with any load. Motor still good.) Pros: - Very quiet. - Looks nice. Mixed a medium thick cookie dough and it did not bog down. - Wire beaters cleaned up easily. (More about beaters below.) - The cord is a reasonable length. - The box it came in is sturdy enough that I should be able to use it for storage for a year or two, so all the pieces will be easier to keep together. Cons: - The light on top to show speed is too bright. I can not comfortably look down directly over the mixer. I must look off to side because of the light. - The push button that is used to step up the speeds (and you must step up the speeds from the bottom each time after turning off) is small and placed such that I can only use my fingernail to depress it. That works fine and is easy enough now, but I wonder how long it will hold up to nail pressure. It does not look very tough. - The beater design does not mix thoroughly without help. I made peanut butter cookies. I had a blob of peanut butter that was about the size of an egg yolk that was apparently a little stiffer than the rest. Even with multiple passes, I could not get the mixer to mix it into my creamed butter/sugar mix. I used a spatula to press it thin and then the beaters could do their job. The peanut butter blob pressed out easily enough when I did it. It did not feel to me like it was exceptionally viscous. - The wire-style beaters mean you need a separate whisk attachment (included) to do egg whites and whipping cream. I have not tried the whisk yet, but assume it works. For me, this means that I have a rarely used bit of machinery that I have to keep up with and find when I next make meringue. Overall, I am happy enough with mixer right now. Only time will tell whether it can do its job for many years like its predecessor.

Good Quality

Pay attention to the description for each color! The red one has the largest motor, the other colors were lovely but motor size is most important for us. This mixer can handle everything that I used it for. But again, pay attention to the fine print on motor size for each color. Smaller motor equals less powerful mixer.

I don't like where the speed changing buttons are, but otherwise okay.

I was replacing a 25-year-old KitchenAid mixer that was worse for the wear, but still worked fine. I just wanted to update, and also get one to match my kitchen. This one matched the kitchen. It wasn't as solid feeling as I expected for a KitchenAid. I wasn't overly impressed with the bottom half of the speeds, the lowest is really slow, though good to start without splattering. Middle and up are okay. Color was decent. The decal that says KitchenAid was rippled, not stuck all the way down, and although not what I'd expect from this company, it wasn't a deal breaker. It didn't cause a problem with use. My problem with this though is that the up and down speed buttons are in an awkward spot. I wasn't able to change without using my other hand to do it while mixing with other hand. My older one has a slide speed changer that was easy to get to and not obstructed. This one is obstructed by the on/off slide button. The on/off button is raised and the speed buttons are flat and low. I'm going to be looking into other hand mixers. It's a shame cause I also bought rubber-coated accessory beaters that I love.

Beater wobbles on one side

I haven't used it yet. The main beater wobbles a bit. It's not lined up with the hole that it goes into. The other side is perfect. The beaters and whisk are not what I expected from Kitchenaid. They are small and the material is thin. I bought this so I can make a small batch of something and not get out my big Kitchenaid mixer. The old standard beaters are much stronger. The wire whisk is very fragile. It should be ok for what I bought it for. The gray goes with my big Kitchenaid mixer, which I love! At $80. I feel it's overpriced, but that's the price I paid for the color and the brand.

Nice and light weight.

This mixer is easy to use and works really well. It’s light weight and easy to store when not in use. Exactly what I was looking for.

For its size it was good

The size was nice. This has enough power for a small family and light enough that its fun to use.There are times that you do not need it for long periods of time . Nor do you want to drag the Kitchenaid out Because you do not want to have to clean it . This is the answer to that problem. Mobil , easy to clean and fairly light.

Finally a hand held mixer with a low speed!

After two failed attempts to find a hand held mixer with a true low speed I found one. It is a terrific mixer. I did find myself wanting to slide the on button to the right, not the left, but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

Good unit.

I have used it several times with good outcomes, but I gave it 4 stars as the mixer gives off an odor when it is running, hopefully this will go away and if it does I will change my rating to 5 stars, until then 4 stars. It was good value for the money.

more than I bargained for

finally bought myself a new hand mixer to replace one I had been using that had been a wedding gift back in 1971,,,oh, it didn't burn out and is still functional but not to capacity,, anyway, this new one is easy to use, is not overly loud with an excellent speed control,, it is light enough to handle yet heavy duty in performance

just enough power

This is my second purchase of this hand mixer. The 7 speed mixer has just enough power to do the job at my work. It's been used on daily basis mixing batter. I've gone through many hand mixers, they all failed at the plastic parts. This model has plastic parts also but seems to last a bit longer. For me 3-5 years of daily usage is good enough. I recommend it but I will go for a cordless next time.
