Low cost fix for Storm Door
Great and helpful reviews on this product. The hinges seem like a common problem with people who have an Andersen Emco door. This kit requires some modifications like sanding down the nylon pins so they fit in the hinges and cutting off about a half inch or so from the springs. I was lucky enough to save 1 of the 4 hinges so only needed 1 kit. If you have to replace all hinges on your Emco door, you’ll have to buy 2 kits and you’ll have extra parts, but still much cheaper to do that rather than buying a new hinge rail. As the previous reviews stated, you’ll need to use a drill, coarse sandpaper, and wire cutters to modify for your Andersen Emco Storm Door.

Will repair Anderson door with modification
Purchased 2 sets to repair a Anderson 4 hinge storm door with 3" hinges. To repair this door you need to use the original steel pins from your door. The nylon pins in the kit are too large and the springs too long. Just use the bushings with the original pins and cut the springs shorter. Works perfectly. Alternative would be to drill the hinge holes larger or sand down the nylon pins. My way was much easier. Perfect repair.

Listen, it may not immediately fit Andersen/EMCO frame
But it absolutely can be done. I am one of the folks who has a screen door that has EMCO hinges where the holes for the spring and nylon pins are not immediately the right size. However, there are almost no alternatives on the market and you can make it fit with a little effort. The easiest thing is you want to cut the spring in about half. Maybe a little more than half. I just used some pliers and cut easily. Then, the important part, is that you need to take the large nylon pins and make them slimmer; they are the size of the outside of the tube they need to go in. They gotta get skinnier. I did this with some patience, sandpaper, and a drill. I put the nylon pins in the drill chuck and tightened it down gently. Then I cut some sandpaper into strips about as wide as the pins and ran the drill while holding the sandpaper to the pin like a hotdog bun to the wiener. After about 10 mins, I had 2 pins that fit inside my hinge. 60 seconds later I had a replaced hinge. Is it perfect? No. But if you’re trying to fix this yourself then you definitely also have the skills to make this work.

These WILL work with Andersen EMCO storm doors
For most, the outer bushings are what wear out and cause failure. For me, that bushings failure also caused the inner spring to fail. As others have mentioned, the inner plugs that come with this kit are too wide to fit into the EMCO hinge. If you still have the original, metal, inner plugs - just reuse them. I cleaned mine off with a wire brush and they fit snuggly into the new spring. The outer bushings fit into the EMCO hinge just fine and everything goes back together relatively easily. The new spring does seem to be slightly longer than the old one, but I managed to get everything to compress enough during the install. It's probably wise to give the hinge a quick cleanup and coat of paint while you're in there -- remove all rust and maybe even add some lubricant to the hinge components.

It works, lightly modified.
The pins are not plastic, they're nylon, but fairly sturdy. I had to sand the diameter smaller before it could fit inside my hinge. My storm door is from 1989 and the springs were over stretched. I think it's a great product for the price, even if I had to slightly modify. My door works great!

Andersen 3000 series works with a flaw????
Used this to fix a Andersen 3000 series door that wouldn’t latch unless I lift up on it. I used this in the hinge that came with the door originally. It fixed my issue and now the door latch with ease. SO THE FLAW THAT I MENTIONED: the plastic barrel washer included are thicker than the original ones which is bad and good. The reason it’s bad is if you try to use them on both ends of the hinge it won’t do back in without modifications which may not be easy depending on the tools you have. I just ended up using one new washer and one old washer. If you do this put thicker one on the bottom of the hinge as this is where most of the weight sits on the door. The good is because they are thicker they will probably last better than the factory ones.

Slight modification worked out great.
Unknown door manufacturer so I took a chance with this hinge repair kit. I removed the door from the frame which made the job easier. I used common handtools to make the necessary modifications. The door works like new. I'm very satisfied with the starting point this Prime-line hinge repair kit helped me fix the door.

It works
I installed them a long time ago so I don't remember perfectly how it went. I seem to recall the instructions not being so great. I never used the springs, they didn't appear to be necessary and didn't fit well inside the hinges. My door is an old piece of junk, the people who originally installed it did kind of a hack job with it and maybe the hinges aren't as they originally were. Oh well, it works, although the door is feeling increasingly loose these days when I open it. Maybe the pins have worn down a little or the hinges are bending out of shape, haven't really tried to figure it out yet. Also, it appears I ordered this kit twice, which I don't really remember... I vaguely recall I maybe broke one of the pins in the first kit so I had to buy another.

Easy to install!
These allowed me to refurbish an old screen door at a fraction of the cost of a new one. Great value for money.

It worked in my EMCO storm door
I just used the bushings like another user stated. I didn’t even try the pins and the springs will fit my 15 year old EMCO door. I used only 1 though as the original springs looked fine

Worked on 50 yr old doors with some mods
First - One kit includes enough pieces for 3 hinges. Not stated in ad. The brass bushings on my 50 yr old doors have worn out. The bushings in this kit had the right outside diameter to fit the frame but I needed to drill out the inside hole sightly to enlarge to accept my door pins. Easily done. Super happy I have a non creaking door. 5 stars

Works!
Like most of the reviews say…I had to shave down the plastic to fit the hinge holes. Door is now fixed.

It is thicker and I have to sand it.
Spending time to sand it. Not good. Hopefully, a small one will be provided
