Love the look

Love the clear base for tape dispenser, but it's a little too light and moves when you pull a piece of tape. Would be better it it had a base filled with sand.

Good enough

Tape dispenser is pretty good quality. I think it helps to purchase a good quality tape you'll use in it, too. There was a small ugly brand logo in one of the corners I didn't care for- just took some acetone to it real quick and it came right off. Looks great with my other acrylic office supplies.

Quality and Beauty!

I admit it, I wanted this because it was pretty and was less concerned about quality craftsmanship. I had my old faithful metal stapler for 30 years. It was the sort of thing you did not want to drop on your bare foot for fear of losing a toe or two. It rarely jammed, and never hiccuped. One day a family friend took notice of my "retro" stapler and shortly thereafter it was gone. I am not accusing anyone, but the cheap knock-off left in it's place was not fooling anyone! To avoid political family fall-out I had to come to terms that my decades old friend was now in the sticky hands of someone who will never be unsupervised in my home again, and I had to find a new relationship. I wanted something heavy duty as I am a craft fanatic! But I wanted something pretty because, well... ok, I just wanted something pretty. This stapler satisfied both my need for stability and pretty. At the price point I was a little worried that it might be more flimsy plastic than high-grade acrylic. I am no expert on the matter, but I will say that there is no way a toe will survive unscathed if this falls on it. Two weeks of various post-holiday projects (and likely 1,000 staples later) and this stapler is holding it's own. I may even be happy that my two-tone brown, 1980',s solid metal standby was kidnapped. :)

Expensive but decent product

Updated Review August 27, 2014: SO, I finally bit the bullet and ordered one for myself at home (been using it at work for papers/envelopes/my calculator). I stood up my charging MacBookPro 13" (that has a speck cover) up in the tallest slot and it is PERFECTION. Gets my laptop off valuable desk space, and the remaining two slots are still used for paper/books. Expensive at $19, but so very functional and I am happy. The logo still bothers me so 4.5 stars! :) Original Review June 13, 2014: I am recently into acrylic office supplies. I like the durability and opacity/ability to match anything that acrylic offers. I was hoping that the sections were staggered (one taller than the next) and I was pleased that it was. I got it to hold up my giant desk calculator that was taking up too much desk space, but it should also hold up my laptop and ipad as well as other miscellaneous paper items. It is expensive, but if it lasts me 20 years, it is worth it. Note, Kantek logo is stamped on here in a few corners. For not it's being used between my printer and pen box, so I don't see it, but if it ever comes out from hiding, I will be unhappy with that. They should have put the logo on the bottom if they wanted. Makes it look tacky. Good looking tape dispenser (does have logo and can move when tearing)

Quality solid feel. I like the aesthetics of this piece a lot! It does have the Kantek logo, which is kind of a bummer, but didn't bother me too much in the end. The dispenser can move a bit, so you might need two hands sometimes. Worth it to me, though, because it looks so nice! Highly recommend.

Too big for my scotch tape

I bought this a few days ago and I just tried to put my scotch tape which is supposed to be the right size but it wont fit... really not happy with my purchase and dont know how to get a refund

other people have mentioned the indiscreet Kantek brand label and the solution to removing it, which i tried: acetone based nail polish remover i bought at the dollar store. and it works! i safely removed the brand name within seconds. it's a great stapler

Functional and aesthetically pleasing

Better than the standard black or wiry letter trays they have around the office. It keeps my small desk clean without adding to the visual clutter or clausterphobia of the workspace. The pointy corners are quite rounded to the touch so I would also use this for my home office as well. I just hope nobody steals it when I'm away on vacation or extended leave!
