My canary likes it

At night it get cooler downstairs & I was worried about my canary. I purchased this heater & installed in on the side of the cage next to a perch. The wire was larger than the cage bars, but I just bent two bars slightly & it fit. My bird spends the night next to the heater & seems happy. It doesn't get super warm, just gives a constant warm vibe. If you are looking for a radiating major heat this won't give it. I cover the top & sides of the cage (not where the wires are in the back) & it seems to help my bird be more comfortable. Con: It's annoying to remove for cage cleaning. Generally I remove the bottom of the cage & just wipe top, so it isn't like I have to remove it several times per week, just once a month.

Ordered two- one works fine, one doesn’t.

Alright. So. I ordered two of these to go into my cockatiel cage which is shared by two cockatiels. I’ve had them for quite a few days and I haven’t seen them go near it once. I decided to touch and feel how warm they both were. One was really warm, the other wasn’t warm at all despite being plugged in. So, essentially I got an ineffective heater on top of an effective heater. Whether or not your birds will interact with the heater really depends on your birds. While one of the heaters was ineffective, the other was perfectly fine. However, my birds still have no interest in going near the heaters. When buying this, you really need to put your bird’s personality(s) in mind. If you have a naturally curious and intelligent bird, then this is the right choice for you. If your bird is naturally skittish and dull, then you should invest in a heat lamp instead. EDIT: I fidgeted with it a few times. I unplugged it and plugged it back in, took out the second cord and blew into it before plugging it back in, etc.. After a LOT of fidgeting, I finally felt warmth from it. Turns out that, for some reason, the “ineffective” heater turns out to just take MUCH MUCH longer to heat up than the other one. I won’t be replacing it since, it technically works. It just works at a slower pace than the other one. Besides that trouble, I like this product! I simply just need to teach my birds how to use it.

Cozy Bird

My budgie was a little leary at first of this new item in his cage so I hung his favorite toy next to it so he would get close and it finally worked. Now I know he is sitting very close to it at night because I can see his droppings right under it. It gets cold in my house and even tho I cover him with blankets I am now happy that he has a little extra for warmth. It does not get hot, just warm so it is safe to not burn the bird.

Great little warmer for my new little friend!

I wasn’t sure if my new canary would use the snuggle up warmer since we are in California and it doesn’t get that cold but it seems like he likes it! I wasn’t planning on getting a bird but this canary just showed up at our door a few nights ago and walked inside when I opened the door for him. He must have escaped someone’s home or maybe someone let him go. He was probably cold and hungry and didn’t know how to survive in the wild on his own. I’m glad to be able to help him and keep him warm and full. :)

My green cheek loves this so much. I have since had to put some vet wrap on the cord cuz she would crawl on the outside and chew on it. But other than that, it keeps her warm at night, and that’s all we care about. ????

May not work for your cage if less than 0.5 inch spacing

The smaller size is perfect for a smaller bird such as a parakeet or lovebird. My lovebird does snuggle up to it at night. A redesign with the plug coming out from the actual plate would be better because I had to bend the cage bars to get the cord through. Lots of reviews mention a weak point where the cord attaches to the warming plate. I put some electrical tape around it. It is black so it blends in with the rest of the cord and my bird does not seem to pay much attention. Hopefully this avoids her from chewing it. I think the heat of the place is perfect. Warm to the touch but not overly so. Would not want the bird to overheat. An added bonus of the plate is the game of peekaboo. She peers around it and says peekaboo!

UPDATE on K&H PRODUCT SNUGGLE DEVICE FOR BIRDS

I’ve given a review before about this warmer device for my birds cause it’s so good so… it’s been almost 2 cold seasons since I bought this used item and it’s been in use both of them they have not fail me yet - I am glad still it’s keeping my parakeets happy warming and safe. My birds loves these devices and the stick in the picture is their favorite day time the other device for the night must of the times. HAPPY BIRDS happy mama bird, thank you Amazon I can trust you buying your refurbished electronics - I might buy some of this warmer devices- for other seasons not expecting them to work forever.

Great heater !

Keeps my cockatiel that has hardly any feathers nice & warm , he snuggles up to it to feel the heat as it’s only warm to the touch , a little expensive but worth it if it keeps him happy & warm

Researched this item as was not sure about leaving on for any length of time and thought it might be an expensive waste if not used. Charlie loved it straight away and after trial period I feel ok about leaving it on when at work, only wee gripe, for the price uk plug should have been supplied.

Update: Took temperatures after it had been on longer. Highest reading I got was 97.5 Farenheit or 36.4 Celsius at the top. If I didn't have an infrared temperature gun I would have returned this product. I don't really feel the heat, but I've been taking the temps and there is enough warmth for a bird if they snuggle up to it (like the product name says). It definitely does not throw heat, but that's a good thing. As my photo shows, the heat goes from warm, warmer to warmest from the bottom going up. The temps fluctuate a bit, so these aren't pinpoint exact temps at all times. In this photo the temps I measured ranged from about 25 (bottom), 28 (middle), to 30 (top) Celsius... in Fahrenheit that's about 77, 84 and 86. The information the company gives for the internal preset temperature is between 99 to 104 degrees Fahrenheit and my readings are nowhere near this high at the surface level, but again, high temps could burn a bird, so this is probably an ideal range to the touch. The one thing I think would improve this product is if there was some kind of light where the wires connect to alert you that you have a proper connection. I'm happy I bought this, especially to keep my bird comfortable through the winter. Sometimes I've had to put a small electric heater in the room during very cold temps, which is more expensive to run than this warmer, and also really dries out a room.

My Cockatiel loves it.

My cockatiel at 1st didnt use it or go near it after 3 days of leaving it on he went close to it and now sleepa beside it or when ever he is cold he will stand close to it. Its not supper hot its a safe warmth specially if you cover the cage at night with a blanket like i do it will stay very nice and warm. He will stand closer or farther away from it depending on how warm he wants to be its cute. Some days he sleeps far away from it doesn't want any wrath. Its also not soo big as you can see on my photo but for my cockatiel bird a small size is perfect. I recommend covering his cage half way all day and fully at night so the warm stays its not hot at all. Its just good and cozy for them remember birds keep warm in their feathers too hot isnt good etheir.
