Decent fetch toy
This toy is meant to be a fetch toy and not a chew toy. It will hold up with light chewing (like between throws) but don't expect it to withstand hours with a heavy or even moderate chewer. Material and Durability: This toy is made out of a softer rubber than other dog frisbees we've used, to give you an idea it will easily bend in half (around the ball of course) with little effort on your part, unlike other more stiff frisbees. The rubber is thick enough that, as I said above, it will hold up to light chewing and because it is so malleable it is less likely to break off (but more likely to crack) and seems like less of a chew magnet for my dog. The ball if made of the same softer rubber and I wish it were made out of a harder rubber like the Cuz balls. This is not nearly as durable as those Cuz balls and within a few days of playing with this the ball stopped squeaking because she had broken through the rubber (not enough to see holes but pretty much cracked it). So the same material that, in my opinion, makes the frisbee part more durable also makes the ball less so. My dog LOVED this thing with the squeaker in it and now that the squeaker is no more she still likes it but she's not as enthusiastic as she was before. To be fair, she DID seem to realize the middle was a ball so she put in some effort to try to detach it to play without the frisbee part. :) She was unsuccessful of course but even with her attempts and her squeaking the ball in between throws I would think that the ball should be able to withstand her playing. After all, the squeaker ball was made with the intention of the dog chewing it to make it squeak, right? While this seems perfect for a game of tug for dogs, I wouldn't recommend it. I think a harder rubber frisbee would be able to better sustain the tugging than this. As I said, while I think this is less likely to break of in chunks, it is more likely to crack and thus tear. Play: Like another reviewer wrote (thank you btw, it was a very helpful tip), I throw this vertically so that when it lands it will roll for a little bit. This does not go as far as a ball even with the roll at the end. Without it, this wouldn't be a very good fetch toy at all. That being said, don't expect to get too much extended play even with the roll...it takes my dog less than a second to catch up with it rolling. I guess I don't know why I expected otherwise, I mean really, how fast can a rubber frisbee roll? :) Also, if it happens to veer off course and roll to one side it doesn't really make my dog chase after it (like another reviewer mentioned his/her dog doing). Instead, she'll just trot after it and pick it up...it's too slow to really engage her in any kind of chase. As far as the squeaker, take into consideration if you intend to play in the yard with neighbors around. If you've never heard a squeaker ball before, they are much louder than the squeakers in stuffed dog toys. If your dog loves squeakers as much as mine does, each throw will be followed with laps around the yard squeaking the frisbee. So...in a way it's almost a good thing the squeaker ball died after a few days because it is loud and I did feel a little bad for my neighbors. Misc: This is easy to clean, of course, being rubber. My dog's favorite fetch toy in the whole world is a rope ball with a rope attached...that turns into a mud ball easily and is much harder to wash. I definitely appreciate ease of cleaning in an outdoor toy. Overall, I was between a 3 and a 4 on this and went with the 4. My dog likes this toy but without the squeaker this is not her favorite. For reference my dog is a doberman.

Long lasting!
I have 2 heavy duty chewers. This is their favorite toy & it is the sturdiest toy I have gotten for them!

Very disappointed.
I purchased this dog toy in April for our 3 month old GSD puppy after seeing all the positive reviews & answers as that was all Amazon showed. Now I know to dig deeper. Due to the nature of the toy she only had access to it when we played with her in the back yard or dog park. It has not cleaned very well between uses and while on our last outing we discovered the toy is destroyed only 4 months after purchase. I don't know if they changed the materials used or what but our experience did not seem to match those of most other reviewers shown. I understand that there is no warranty but 4 months seems very short although she, and we, enjoyed it's use during that time. Another point of discontent is that it really is too heavy and unbalanced due to the rounded centerto 'fly' very well or very far. While I knew it's aerodynamic abilities would be questionable the product description may lead consumers to believe otherwise. This product is marketed towards aggressive chewers despite clearly not being burnable enough to hold up against that kind of abuse and posing a choking or other hazard that can kill pets. And lastly, I don't know how Amazon orders it's reviews or if the seller has influence over this but when shopping this toy there was not a single negative review shown and given the high rating of the item I didn't seek further. It's only after purchase & subsequent failure that I thought to look at all reviews and see the negative ones. I hope other consumers will do this as well when it comes to the safety of your family.

Not as good as I thought for the price.
My dog didn't like it at first. Now she will retrieve it, but won't catch it on the fly. Also, she doesn't bite it hard enough to make it squeak. In fact it is hard for me to make it squeak. My opinion, it costs more than it is worth!

Holds up well!
This product holds up well to my 80 pound pup who tears up any flimsy toys! It’s great to play with outside and rinses off easily.

Freyja’s favorite toy BY FAR!
This is my Germans Shepherds favorite toy. She even falls asleep with it in her mouth. Our favorite game consists of me throwing it off the back deck, her letting it bounce once and then catching it mid air. Great toy :-)

Roll it, don't throw it.
My 6 month old puppy loved this toy from the moment I gave it to her. The soft rubber is perfect for heavy teething and apparently both its smell and taste satisfied my dog's demands. However, when my dog gave the toy back to me and backed up waiting for me to throw it to her, I had no idea what to do. The toy is no more a "flying disk" than the average rock is. It is very heavy and the "disk" offers no lift whatsoever. After a few frustrating efforts to throw the thing like a frisbee, I tried rolling it like a wheel. It rolls with considerable stability at speeds reasonably challenging for my dog. Releasing the toy using a bowling delivery with little or no "air" has produced the best results for me. Impact with the ground will usually cause the disk to fall flat, because its frame is not rigid. The heaviness of the toy presents more or a challenge to my dog in knocking it down, while the very soft rubber eliminates any risk of injury. The Whirlwheel is an excellent toy for a dog that needs heavy chewing and enjoys chasing objects on the ground.

Probably the best dog toy ever. If your dog likes running and catching.
The media could not be loaded. My dog could chew for England and ruined every toy he has had within hours of playing with it. I first came across these rubber toys at my local pet shop. The price was quite high at £10.50 but it turned out to be a great buy. It lasts my dog about 8 months and the great thing about this toy is the amount of ways you can throw it and not forgetting it floats. You can throw it as a disc either broadside or thin side, you can also shoot it across the ground like a wheel. If you get the wind under it, it really goes far which is surprising for it weight. This is his favorite toy and always wants to play and run for it. He even gets it to bring to bed which is so sweet. It's very gentle on the dogs gums and the rubber is impregnated with vanilla so smells nice too. I have ordered 3 from this company as my local pet shop could not get anymore in, a vast internet search to get one within the UK turned up nil results. Delivery time from the States and cost of the toy was great plus the zero postage costs made it a real winner.

So far resilient to tugging squeaking Rotti play
Original was a gift that's lasted 13 years of tugging, biting and squeaking, so had been looking for years for another just in case. Hope this lasts as long as the original, which is amazing for 2 rough playing Rottweilers!

Perfectly pliable frisbee
There is nothing wrong with this toy it's just neither of my dogs liked it hence the low score. They're used to the ring frisbees but the younger dog destroys them.

Wonderful for the less enthusiastic dog!
Excellent entertainment for more subdued dogs, but really not strong enough for anything enthusiastic. We bough 4 of these on a friend's recommendation and our dog absolutely LOVED them. Unfortunately each one lasted between 2 and 30 minutes, so that was an expensive couple of hours!!!
