They work????‍♀️
These are just ok. Hard to put in the cage, especially with water in them. They don’t leak and my birds easily can drink from them, so they do what they are supposed to do. Pretty flimsy.

Great Water Tubes
I have used these tubes forever, They are very sturdy and easy to clean. I use vinegar once in a while to remove calcium deposits. They are placed from the outside into a holder that is on the outside of the cage. Fill the tube with water put both base pieces on. Flip the tube and insert it into the bracket. Because my bars are horizontal, I can’t slide it in. I have to insert one side first, then the other. My cage bar spacing is 3/8”. I really didn’t need them but the price was too good to pass up. Received quickly.

Best Dang Water for Small Birds Ever!
I have purchased many, different types, and all gave me problems. This one? It solves all those problems, like some eventually lose their grip over time, some drip, and out of desperation I bought this one, but I thought, such a low price, impossible. But I am so glad I did, despite the low price, it is well made, easy to set up anywhere, so I am sticking with this one for all my cages and future purchases. Oh how I wisk I had one like this one decades ago. I have different species, from parrotlets, to finches, to parakeets, and wild rescues that I take care of until release.

I really wish this worked.
I loved the idea of the actual water being easy to fill because it is outside the cage. Unfortunately, it leaks.

JW Clean Water Silo for Birds
The shipping was very fast and the product came well-packaged. I bought this for my starling because he likes to grab his own poop and fling it into the water cup. He also enjoys tearing up the newspaper and submerging the strips into the water. He also figured out that newspaper is weaker when it is wet so he tries to intentionally tip water out of the cup onto the newspaper or wet his beak to enable the newspaper to be soaked, after which he drills holes in the lining or he goes ham and tears up the paper. He also tries to wash his head in the cup on occasion. I have been using double or triple the usual amount of newspaper so he doesn't destroy it as easily but having to change the water 4x a day is not fun. What will I ever do if I need to go out for the day and he fouls the water? Enter this water silo. I rinsed it out and filled it with filtered water. My cage is slightly curved on the sides. After some repositioning, I was finally able to get the water silo attached to the cage wall into a position where it is slightly tilted forward. This allows the water to fill the trough slightly more in the front, enabling my starling to drink more easily. He has a long beak and I was worried that the trough would be too shallow. It took him just a couple of seconds to figure out it is a water dispenser. He is usually deathly afraid of anything new I add to the cage, especially brightly-colored things, so he surprised me with his willingness to use the trough and his lack of fear. This is the first time he hasn't freaked out due to something new since he was a fledgeling. The water silo has been mounted off the floor of the cage so my starling needs to climb up on a perch to drink. This has eliminated all his newspaper and poop shenanigans and he likes to peck and probe the body of the water silo, so it is also sort of like a new toy. I can finally use a normal amount of newspaper. The attachments are secure and easy to figure out. For the price, it seems to be doing a wonderful job. The stopper doesn't have one of those sensitive ball designs that can easily get clogged by foreign matter. You can choose to remove just the water tube or the entire trough along with it, although the latter takes a little coaxing. Much more convenient than unscrewing the entire thing every time you want to change water or clean the silo or trough. I don't get these negative reviews, you can even remove the screw and nut to reverse the direction you want to mount this thing in. I can see the attachments maybe loosening up with heat or sheer age but for the price, this is a wonderful addition to my starling cage.

Great Product, let me clarify some of the problems you may be having.
When used correctly, this water silo can be the best thing you ever put in your babies cage. I went through all 127 of the reviews of this product, and after purchasing two for my two cockatiels (Sting and Rogue) I chuckled at the problems that some were having. There is already a wonderful review that is at the top of the most helpful with pictures describing issues you may be having and what you are doing wrong, and I also recommend finding that review, as that was the reason why I decided to give this product a shot 1st off. This silo should only be used on VERTICAL bars. yes you can jerry-rig it to work with horizontal bars, but you WILL NOT be able to remove the trough along with the silo, which is why people removing only the silo are getting water all over their house. The plastic stop valve was not designed to immediately stop water flow when removed from the trough, but to fill the trough with water. If you put this silo on vertical bars (my cage has 3/4th spacing and is nearly at the max width this product will work with, as it nearly snaps on to the bars before you screw it down) then you are easily able to remove the trough along with the silo, allowing you to easily dump the old water in your sink by flipping the silo, then taking off the upside down trough, then emptying the silo. It is so much easier than the step-by-step makes it sound, but some people don't seeem to have figured out the product yet so I felt I had to do this by the numbers. 2nd. filling this product couldn't be easier. after you have removed the trough, hold the silo upside down so the stop valve is hanging and there is an opening for water to flow through. I personally use my filtered fridge water to give cold, fresh water to my tiels. Once the silo is nearly full. remove it from the fridge, then RE-ATTACH the trough while it is UPSIDE DOWN. these other users who are trying to flip it into the trough and spilling water everywhere are missing a simple but important step to keep this whole process cleaner. 3rd and probably most importantly. Give you birds some time to figure this out... I got my birds about 1 week after their parents stopped feeding them, and they had just figured out how water bowls and food bowls work. It took them nearly 2 days to figure out how to find their Seed Corral (another great product) and it was on the 4th day where I finally witnessed the bird drinking from the trough. During this time I put a small bowl of seeds and a bowl of water at the bottom of their cage away from their normal perching points to avoid droppings, and when they got hungry they'd start seeking out food. Natural cockatiel instinct drove them to the floor of their cage to forage, but after exploring their new home for a few days they found access to all their other resources. Just remove the helper sustenance as you witness them finding their other sources of food and water. In summation, I hope some of these tips helped with users who wanted to throw this product against the wall. yes it is made of plastic and isn't the most sturdy thing in the world, but what JW advertises they are pretty good about delivering. Hope this helped a few of you out, and happy birding! :)

Water Silo Leaks Like Crazy
I have a Hagen Vision cage for my budgie and bought this water silo to use instead of the ugly brown (I think it is officially 'terracotta' coloured) container supplied by Hagen. The JW silo does not fit the Hagen cage very well and changing the water a couple of times each day was a fiddly process. I would have put up with this but within a couple of days of use the silo developed a slow leak. It empties itself overnight -- next morning the floor of the cage is soaking wet. I chucked it away and substituted with a drip bottle (the sort used for rodents with the ball bearing in the spout) bought from Wilkinsons (a cheap shop on the High Street). This was also a pain to change and I then started using a plastic water bowl which hooks to the bars of the cage and is a doddle to change (also from Wilko). I bought four bowls and just rotate them so the water is always fresh and clean. Typically, my budgie tends to ignore his official hygienic water supply and drinks from his bath(!) Whaddya gonna do? One other complaint -- the illustration shows a bright green colour but the item supplied to me was an ugly white-yellow colour which put me in mind of dead skin and municipal urinals. I would have thrown the silo out even if it hadn't leaked just on the basis that something that ugly should not be allowed.

Problem free water fountain.
This is an excellent water fountain and my canary (Senor Jose' El Solapo) has no bother drinking from it despite the narrow trough. Dribbles a bit asit is removed and replaced but mostly outside the cage. I ordered two after seeing them on YouTube and haven't been disappointed. Mine came in a pale green and blue. The only thing to be aware of is that while the cage clamp is excellent the quality of manufacture and materials is a bit naff. More importantly: vertical bars only! It can be made to work for horizonal bars but it seems a bit of a fudge and mine leaked after I started squezing to remove it , which is what it reccomends in the instructions! Edit - it could do with a perch as well built on or attached to the calmp as siting isn't always perfect.

Great Buy
After years of squeezing the other makes of water feeders thought the bars it is great to finally find a product that works .It does not leak once in place due to the design .The only down side is I have a cage with horizontal bars so the item stays fitted until I clean the cage, which is not a problem as the tube just lifts out and when I change the water I soak up the remaining bit of water in the feeding part with a sheet of kitchen roll .I am happy with this product and have bought a second one as a back up .This item comes in a regular size and a tall I have one of each .

Too wide for bars.
Too wide for my cage so didn't fit so couldn't use, still looking for a bottle that fits and my cage is standard size bars.
