Great product that they stand behind.

I have used this device for several years now andI really like the functionality and ease of use. I like this enough that when mine broke andwas out of warranty I purchased another identical one. Then I contacted the company to see if they could fix my original one. The charging port had come loose and was inside the device so that I couldn't plug in my charging cable. You can't take these apart so I was out of luck. When I contacted them to see if they could fix it, they were kind enough to replace my out of warranty device with a refurbished one. Now I have two of them and I find this a great thing because if I forget to charge one I have a backup. Thanks very much to the company for standing behind their product and caring about their customers. They get me as a customer for life!!!

Nice golf GPS

Received my Swami 6000 and put it to work this morning. I’ve always used a point and shoot golf rangefinder which has become more of a task than a luxury as my hands have a hard time being still enough to lock in on the flag. This Swami GPS is perfect! I get the middle back and front distances. The Swami was easy to setup. I charged the battery up to 100% and it was ready to go. Throughout the 18 holes the Swami kept up as it should. The only downside is that if the next hole tee box is very close to the green that you are hitting a shot up to the Swami will jump ahead to the next hole as the GPS thinks that’s the hole you are about to tee off on. You can manually move the hole backwards one hole but the GPS will auto move back up to the next hole. The built in magnet works great! I’d say this device is a good purchase.

Died After a Year

for $119 maybe I used its life up. Good little unit but after 6 months it started being quirky. Got stuck on a hole while I was playing and I had to let the battery run out before it somewhat reset. Once charge it worked like normal until it got stuck again, as the screen froze. Just something to think about before purchasing.

Easy read and accurate.

Very happy with this item. Big bold read out, easy to read. I have checked the accurcy with other more expensive units and everythime its reading the same as the big dollar ones. Magnet is super strong really sticks to cart. Easy to operate. Don't be afraid to purchase this model.

i dislike figuring out how to change the hole number when I'm too close to another hole. It picks up that hole number.

Bad cable connection

This unit is a good aid for a quick reference in the golf cart. I like most everything about it except the cable plug on the bottom of the unit. I had bought one and the port where the cable plugs in felt like it broke and would not make any type of contact after a few months. I like it enough to buy another thinking I was to ruff plugging the cable in. The second unit failed in the same manner as the first one did. I marked the end of the cable so I knew the way the cable fit, and took extra care too be gentle when plugging the cable in. Still failed as the frist one did. If you buy this be gentle, good luck.

The first unit I received did not work. From that experience I learnt the following: #1. Amazon’s return policy is simple/easy to follow and worked seamlessly…..full marks. #2. Izzy Support was extremely professional, and although they were unable to repair the unit, they were great to work with…..full marks. The replacement unit was received in record time. The replacement unit is working well. It is simple to use and I enjoy the magnetic function that allows the operator to mount the gps unit where it is easy to view. I did hear about users who left the unit on the cart when leaving in a hurry. I have addressed this concern by using a storage case. I use an old eye glass case, that I put in the cart, with the belief that I will see the empty case and remember to grab the gps unit. We will see. I have found that the batteries last two full rounds before recharging.

One Major Flaw !

Major Flaw: I just received this device and have played two different courses and on both courses I have had instances where the device changed to another hole even though I was not on that hole. I was in close proximity to the other hole but was still on another hole. Any other device I have had, you just scroll back to the hole you want and it will remain on that hole until you scroll forward. Once this device moves to a wrong hole and you scroll back, it will immediately scroll to the wrong hole again unless you move a good distance away from where you were standing when it changed !!! There could be many occasions where you might be on a fairway adjacent to the one you're playing and then it's critical you know the yardage to the hole you're playing. You can't do that with this device ! Cons: a number of yardages to hazards are incorrect. Pros: the screen is easy to read and the device is easy to use. Too many issues for me to keep this device. I'll be sending it back.

NOT A COURSE GUIDE

The screen on my old Garmin approach was becoming difficult to read owing to wear and tear and I needed a replacement. I do not like wearing a watch when playing golf but a Garmin is quite expensive and the SWAMI seemed very good value by comparison. I am disappointed that it does not provide a course and hole guide as the Garmin and I miss that but the distances to the green seem accurate but I notice that not all the hazards are shown usually just distances to bunkers. The GPS updates a little slowly so be careful let the distances settle. I use glasses for reading and the numbers are a very good size, however, the course list at the beginning of set up are in very small lettering. If you do not want to wear a watch then this is a good substitute and value but it does not provide all the course information of a more expensive machine.
