Love this tool!

Not only is it a great little wrench for opening bottle caps, it’s also a handy household tool. When I can’t open a soda bottle or water bottle I reach for my wrench and bingo! It’s open.

The tool for the job

I wasted money on 3-4 other pipe wrenches before buying this. The problem with the pipe wrenches is that it’s bloody hard to tighten the jaw to get the grip at the tightness needed to turn. This plier solves that issue. Make sure to use one of the preset notch sizes it has and then tighten so it could get a solid tight grip on whatever it is you’re turning.

It’s tiny…

Don’t think this is a big pair of channel locks this is a small wrench. Found it completely useless.

Must-have for mechanics

I bought these to try them out, my Blue Point pair is getting worn out at 30 years old. At the same time I also ordered the Channellock like type pair, and in comparison the Irwin are best of all three. I love Channellock pliers for the $$$, but in this case the Irwin are just heavier-duty and stronger. The Channellock are chincy in my book - almost frail. Don't get me wrong about Channellock pliers in general, they are as good as anything else out there in their price range and even somewhat above that - their 16" slip-joints and regular dikes are equal to Blue Point or Snap-On. Maybe not equal to Knipex, but you have to consider what you're paying for. Irwin now owns the old Petersen Vise-Grip line, and they are keeping up the quality of that brand. I bought the 10-piece Vise-Grip set and it's as good as the original. Homeowners won't need a 5" pair of "channellocks," but as a mechanic they're very handy on occasion like a number of sometimes-used, but indispensable tools. I bought the 6" snipe-nose Channellocks for using on small springs etc., very nice! My plier drawer in my Snap-On toolbox overfloweth. The Blue Point, at least the originals I have from the 80's, would be in the middle of the quality and strength grade.

PRETTY GOOD TOOL

this tool is of good quality, not stellar I suppose but good. My only complaint and it's not really the fault of the tool is the it's too small for my xl bear-paw size grip

Produto pequeno e cabe bem na mala de ferramentas

Produto pequeno e fica bem armazenado na mala de ferramentas, não é a melhor ferramenta da categoria, mas serve bem para usos gerais. Acho que o ajuste das posições poderia ser melhor, o alicate fica com um pouco de jogo, atrapalhando um pouco o encaixe mais preciso, mas é uma boa compra. Bom material construção geral razoável

Para apriete limitado

Cumplen con su cometido en el manejo de piezas lisas, aunque con apriete limitado, pues la articulación no da tanta fuerza. Si requieres un apriete mayor te recomiendo buscar pinzas con articulación machihembradas

why is it called 6 inches!

Nothing in it adds up to 6 inches! the jaws open 1.5 inches! The vise grip is great, well made! Amazon has to update its descriptions to answer the most important question of all how much do the jaws open!
