Worked in a 2015 Nissan Rogue with Atoto S8 Premium
Preferably, use the windows app with a USB cable to program the ASWC-1. If you are able, do not bother with programming the device via steering wheel controls. With the Atoto S8, the steering wheel programming was only able to get 3 of 7 buttons to work. To get all steering wheels buttons to function, I had to upgrade the firmware within the Windows app, set the stereo type as "Visteon" and I had to enable remapping and play around remapping buttons individually until I got all the steering wheel buttons to work. As far as wiring goes, I had to connect the 3.5mm Aux male (included in the kit) into the 3.5mm Aux female (also included in the kit). Then the brown & brown/white wires connected to the 3.5mm female had to be connected to their counterpart Atoto S8 steering wheel wires.

Worked on 2011 Toyota Tacoma steering wheel
I have no idea how this product works, but it allowed me to get steering wheel function on a 2011 Toyota Tacoma with a JVC head unit. I had to call the company and they walked me through how to set it up, they were very easy to work with.

Great product, Terrible instructions
Works very well. Only reason for not 5 stars is the Directions are horrible. Literally had to work from 5 sets of instructions. Otherwise works great.

If you know how, it will work with Chinese Android Head Units.
My typical Ford radio did what typical Ford radios do, fail to light up the LEDs so the time came to replace it. I replaced it with a typical Chinese Android head unit. The typical Chinese head unit did not come with any instructions. Typical. So I searched the internet regarding typical installation of Chinese Android head units. I found out I needed an interface, so I purchased a METRA AXTC-FD1 STEERING WHEEL CONTROL & ACCESSORY INTERFACE. Well with my typical luck this unit did not work so I called Metra. The nice people at Metra told me I bought the wrong interface. The interface I bought was only good for my car if I had the factory navigation unit. They told me I needed the ASWC-1 unit, so I purchased it. It went in really easy, but it too did not work. I called Metra back and explained it did not work. They told me the ASWC-1 was not designed to work with the Chinese Android units but if I tried to change the head unit manufacturer from the one recognized by the ASWC-1 to others on the compatibility list using the ASWC Configuration-Axxess Updater Program, by trial and error I might find one that would work. I went to the PAC Audio website. They sell a unit similar to the ASWC-1 called the SWI-RC-1. This unit does not automatically configure to the head unit, but instead, must be programmed using DIP switches. I looked at their compatibility list and found “2-Wired Resistive” and “Android Radio”. Both used the same settings. I then looked for a brand that used the same settings and that was also on the ASWC-1 compatibility list and found that Visteon used the same settings as the “Android Radio” on the PAC unit and was also on the ASWC-1 compatibility list. I set the ASWC-1 to recognize the head unit as a Visteon using the ASWC Configuration-Axxess Updater Program, reinstalled the head unit, programmed the head unit to recognize the buttons pressed on the steering wheel control and everything worked. In short to get this unit to work with a Chinese Android head unit: 1) Do all your wiring according to the instructions of the ASWC-1 and any information you can get regarding the head unit. 2) Install the ASWC-1 into the car and turn the car key to the on position. 3) Let the ASWC-1 recognize the car. 4) Turn off the car and remove the ASWC-1 unit. 5) Hook the ASWC-1 unit to your computer as per the instructions using a USB cable. 6) Boot up the ASWC Configuration-Axxess Updater Program. 7) Choose SWC Configuration then Visteon under the drop down menu. 8) Disconnect the ASWC-1 from your computer and re-install the ASWC-1 in your car. 9) On the head unit assign functions to each button. 10) Enjoy!!!!

Works with Chinese Android Head Units in Visteon Mode
This interface has SO MUCH functionality. The ability to set 2 functions to one button is amazing. I used it on a 2006 F250 and got it to work perfectly, however these generic head units are not included in the list of devices in the instructions. I and others have had good luck using the Visteon setting for radio type. After this unit is set, you still have to go into the head unit's menu to map the buttons to their respective functions. On my 9" unit, I found this function in settings->factory settings->party setting (yeah I know) This has been perfect with no hiccups so far.

Regain control
This steering wheel adaptor was purchased for an aftermarket radio. The radio was purchased from Witson for a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe. The aftermarket radio was not on the list of manufacturers known to work with the steering wheel adapter. However, through trial and error I found that the head unit responded to the codes used for the Eclipse (Type 2) head unit. The firmware update was very straight forward via download of their software from the site to my tablet and using a USB cable from the tablet to the device. I did have some difficulties with the installation at first as I was getting what I eventually found out through Google searching was the error code. This is when the LED on the unit flashes slowly between red and green. It took a few tries with programming and verifying wiring. It should be noted that I had to disconnect the USB cable and turn off/on the ignition then hold my volume up button until the unit recognized the vehicle for each trial of the head unit. The wiring information provided in the manual supplied by Axxess was spot on. I had even referred to the wiring schematic from the vehicles wiring diagrams but ultimately it was the Axxess manual that was correct. The manual could be written a little more clearly but we also have to keep in mind the people who wrote it knew how to use it. The downloaded instructions "for my vehicle" threw me off a bit as it had conflicting information from the manuals that came with the packaging. I almost gave it four stars because of this. The steering wheel controls now work perfectly with the head unit so I give it a five star rating. While this may seem expensive it is well worth it to regain full functionality.

Works flawlessly on 2005 Toyota Solara and Pioneer AVH-270, and re-activates multifunction display!
Not as complicated as it first appears! Only 4 wires to hook up for this application- red to key on power, black and pin 6 wire to ground, green/orange to pin 7, Black/green to pin 8 (see pic, this plug went into the original premium stereo, you use all three wires...pin 8 is pink/black, pin 7 is pink/green, pin 6 is pink/silver, left to right) That leaves the 3.5 mm male jack, instructions say is for "SWC" which goes to the "W/R" (hardwired remote control) port in the back of the Pioneer deck. That's the port below the MIC 3.5mm spot. The included female 3.5mm jack with two brown wires isn't used in this case. I turned on the key and it instantly figured everything out, AND it reconnects the car's multi-function display! I say that because when you swap the original deck for aftermarket on some Toyotas, you lose the ability to cycle through it via the "Disp." button on the right side of steering wheel... the display will stay on whichever setting it was set to last, for example, instant mileage, average mileage, etc. This Axxess unit fixes that, nice touch. This device has the capability to reassign your steering wheel buttons, and also to give most buttons two functions. I do wish this had a "play/pause" feature, it has "play/enter" but that doesn't stop or start your music. But, I was able to give the "mode" button a second assignment: mute. So when you ~hold~ it for a second, it 'attenuates/unattenuates' the music (doesn't mute completely, but reduces the volume a lot), and when you ~tap~ the button it works as usual, cycling through modes. Very good Instructions: https://axxessinterfaces.com/product/ASWC-1. Type in your vehicle and away you go.

Works perfect, easy to program
Installation guides are available for individual vehicles on the Axxess site by searching "ASWC1 wiring" on Google and although the programming instructions can be a bit hard to follow as they're all condensed into one paragraph, once you comprehend them the programming itself is very easy. I bought two of these units one for my 2007 Civic and one for 2011 Mazda 3, both of them were simply turn the ignition on, wait for a 10 seconds or so, and they self learn and are ready to go. The car is auto detected and so is the radio so there is no step-by-step programming of radio type and buttons like on the PAC module, but just make sure that the radio is hooked up to the module when programming so that it can be detected!

Works wells after troubleshooting
Installed on 05 TSX. Auto programmed as the red light was solid. Then changed my radio to #8 for the Atoto S8. And still remap the buttons while in the car. Few buttons still didn't work even after many resets. Had to download the updater software on PC and connect the black box with a data cable not charger cable to program the keys and it worked after put back in the car. I already bought the Metra Dask kit to remove the stock radio and put aftermarket. It came with the connector for the Axxess instead of connecting the harness that came with the Axxess. Overall it works but not as simple as some homework is involved. Edit #1- 4 months in still works perfect

To install this you have to find and print off the vehicle specific instructions on their website. Don't get your tools out until you find them because you could never figure out which wires to connect without the instructions. It was an accessory power, ground, and 1 wire on my truck. The install is straightforward with the instructions. The first one I bought worked for a couple months then failed on my 2006 Sierra 2500hd slt. Called their tech support and they offered to trouble shoot it with me if I took it all apart. I told them it is a pain to take it apart and put it back together so can you send me a replacement one so I am not doing the same thing again if we find the original harness defective. They refused to send me a new one before I troubleshoot it. So I bought another one on my own and went about the troubleshooting process myself and it turned out the first one I bought quit working. I got the second harness to work wired exactly the same as the first. What a pain it was to open everything up and do it twice. Would have been worse if I listened to their tech support guys and did it 3 times. Now I have the old defective harness that I have to try and return if I don't forget about it. In summary if this second one doesn't quit on me I would call it a mediocre product. If I were you I would consider the alternatives (maybe a vehicle specific one would be better?). If there was nothing else I would say this harness is fine I guess. Hopefully you have better luck than me if you go down this route. If this fails again i will change it to 0 stars
