Not that bulky, not heavy, fits easy
The media could not be loaded. This installed rather easy, and is no more bulky than any other plastic dishwasher disposal. It is not heavy, and I easily lifted it by myself without the use of a jack. The bio charge is very easy to take on and off unless it does not matter what position, you have this in it’s very easy to install and remove the charge. Four. Stars because it’s really not that quiet.

Super quiet and great for septic systems
This was a good solution for us in our new house that has a septic system. We were always told you can't use a garbage disposal with septic systems, which isn't true if you use the right one. This is the right one. I was tempted to buy the top InSinkErator model - the Evolution Excel. But after contacting InSinkErator, this one is the way to go with septic systems. It has a dual blade system that pulverizes food particles into dust. It then injects a few drops of their septic solution (bacteria) down the drain to help the particles biodegrade in your septic system. This will not harm your septic system and will help all that food break down. It's the easiest disposal I've ever installed, and I did it myself without help. I got it to twist on easier than any other disposal I've used, which is saying something. Usually installing these is super frustrating! The instructions are very clear and easy to follow. Make sure the exit drain from the disposal is HIGHER than the drain running out the house, or you can't have a disposal. Water flows with gravity, so if your exit drain leaving the house is higher than this one, water will just sit in your disposal and stink up your house. This is a very quiet disposal and chews up everything I put in it. I installed a push button disposal switch on top of my sink when we had our new sink installed for a clean look. It does not come with any kind of power cord. However, you can buy a dishwasher power cord at your local hardware store (HD, Lowe's) and they work perfectly. That's what I used and I had no issue. You just need an outlet under your sink (I had an electrician install one for us). Overall I'm very pleased with this disposal, and I'm glad I didn't spend more money on the Excel as it's not necessary for septic systems.

Big, Bulky, Strong and Quiet...
This thing is HUGE! Don't be deceived by the picture, it will take up a significant amount of your under-sink space. We have a double basin sink installed in a standard 24" cabinet, and have this bad boy installed in the left basin. It was too big to fit, so we had to cut the side wall out of the cabinet. Luckily, there is a void between it and the next cabinet so this was not a problem for us, but if you had a cabinet right next to your sink cabinet, you might have an issue. Shouldn't be a problem if you have a larger sink cabinet, or if you have a standard cabinet with a single basin with a drain in the center. The other challenge you'll likely have is how to connect the plumbing in such a way that you can still access the cartridge. The design has the cartridge and and the plumbing spigot on opposite sides of the unit. This means that you can either access the plumbing, or the cartridge, not both. We ended up mounting this about 45 degrees turned clockwise so that I could access the plumbing as well as replace the cartridge. The flange between the unit and sink does a good job dampening the sound, but it also does a poor job of letting air out of the top chamber. The result is some bubbling when you begin running the water. Additionally, you'll have to actively push food scraps into the hole. Not a big deal, but I know some people would prefer to just use the sprayer to wash the food down. Not gonna happen with this guy. All that said, the unit performs well. It is significantly quieter than our 11 year old former unit. When running, all you can hear is a slight hum. We've pushed celery "stubs" into the unit, and it doesn't faze it at all. It also seems to take it easy on the cartridges, so I don't expect to be spending an arm/leg on replacements. We have also noticed a reduction in "funky" smell. Time will tell if this holds true thanks to the cartridge, or if it's just the result of a "new disposal" smell. All in all, I would recommend so long as you have the free space under your sink and don't mind needing to actively push the food into the disposal.

HEAVY but QUIET
First, hats off to all the plumbers in the world that do this for a living. To say this was heavy and awkward would be an understatement. Before you begin, get your car jack...seriously. This was bought as a replacement for a 1/2 HP disposal which was leaking 2 weeks after we moved in to our house. I researched only a little but this one came out on top for reviews. We have septic, so I wanted to make sure that we got the best; I don't need that bill. Package came quick and as expected. All parts were there and fortunately for me, it was a easy swap from my old one otherwise you have to replace the sink hole, etc. You are able to use your old cord if it is in good condition. Easy swap however, be prepared to have a cable connector (plug to put the cord through). I could reuse mine but I suggest having a new one on hand. You seriously need a car jack. It is awkward and heavy and if you don't get the ring lined up first shot, you can run the risk of dropping it and even worse crushing/breaking pipes under the sink. Once it is connected and you are ready to go, when you turn it on, I seriously didn't think something this quiet could actually work. QUIET! This is day one review and will return if necessary but I am hoping for the best.

Silent and efficient
This unit replaced a 20-y old one. Easy to install: we were even able to use the collar already installed on the sink instead of the one provided. It was just a matter of hooking up the electric cable (we had a switch-operated unit - no need for the additional expense of a cable) and finding the right size of PVC tube at Home Depot. Sure, it is a bit big, but it still fits easily under the sink. Make sure you buy additional liquid as it seems that a bottle, under normal use, may not last longer than 3 months,

For the person who was asking if it comes with a cord...
See the pic for what is included with the item. This is the second one we have bought and we have been very happy with the existing one, which we have had for 2-years. A good size and power level in that it hasn't clogged once (touch wood!). The dispenser works well for adding enzymes as we are on septic. We're renovating and adding a second sink so we splurged and will have two in the kitchen if that tells you anything about our satisfaction level - lol!

Excellent
Arrived in a couple of days, reasonably easy to install, quiet motor, much better to have this type of action (rubber slats in plug, preventing things from falling in; switch under sink) than one of those clunky metal plugs which you have to turn in the sink and work around when you are actually using the sink. Appreciate the fact that it seems good for the septic tank too. Thank you.

I would give it 5 stars but it was difficult to install. Once past the installation, it worked very well.

Super Quiet
Nothing seems to slow this thing down. I feel better about using it with our septic system with the finer grind and the enzyme injection.
