Loud for todays standard
Good IR ratchet. For some reason way louder than my old IR. It’s a screamer compared to all my other ratchets. I feel like most air ratchet are around 80dBA this one has got to be in the 90s. Pretty average on weight when I comes to metal cased ratchets. Most of the weight is in the head, but reliable and runs like a champ. It also pretty air hungry. With the amount of air consumed I feel like it should have more torque and speed, but really good for this price range. Not a fan that it is made in China, but a lot of IR air tools are made there now.

Great balance between price, weight, torque and overall build quality.
I'm speaking as a daily professional user. Probably owned at least 8 different air ratchets varying in price from 20 to 350 bucks. I've owned super cheapos to reactionless, impact ratchets and the snap-on big dog. I've always great experiences with Ingersoll air tools I've owned. I bought a no name lime green cheapie that worked once and locked up the next time I tried using it. Luckily I was able to return it. I need a reliable quality tool and bought this ratchet as my primary. After reading reviews I decided to add my own. I bought it for daily professional use. It works perfectly. I was surprised to see complaints about loudness because the cheapie was way louder than this one. The Noise level is actually quieter than I expected and I like to be able to rotate the mid mounted exhaust defuser so it blows away from my face or doesn't blow on dusty parts like brake calipers. Saved a few bucks by getting an open box unit. Here is my take on this IR ratchet. 1. Actually looks nice, if that matters to you. I like the tapered handle. 2. Noise level in my experience is below average for a pro air ratchet. 3. Torque and power are what I expect as a pro user. 4. Price vs quality is 5 out of 5. 5. Great balance between price, weight, torque and overall build quality.

Heavy duty
Didn't like the air exhaust at first but found the exhaust port was adjustable to blow in any direction you want. Doesn't work like an impact but solid so far

Very powerful already drew blood on one of my fingers
Good and strong. It has a small trigger so that you won't accidentally get wedge between a rock and a hard place. Only full time mechanics will know what I'm talking about.

ASE master certified Tech. love this
im an ase master certified tech with 20+ years field experience. The one i just purchased is my 3rd one. They work great and the price is a great value. WAY cheaper than the tool truck. I abuse the heck out of it. Drops, laying on ground in water etc. I really dont take care of it, oil it every once and a while if i think about it. I have gotten about 5-7 years out of these. Could prob do better if you actually take care of it. The first one i had the gears in the body broke from me trying to loosen something that i should have used another tool for and the 2nd one the head just wore out. It still worked but there was too much play in the thing that rotates and the part that turns the gear in the head. just wear and tear. It's a little loud. what i would consider to be average, but still quieter than the noisy snap on ones my coworkers use. When this one breaks ill buy another one.

Almost perfect.
Love this air ratchet, but wish it had a lever instead of a button. And it a little hard to press.

Everything is Great
Everything came mint and working well. I put my Milton V Purple fitting on it with some Teflon tape, a couple drops of oil down the hatch and off we went. Turned the exhaust outlet away from my face while working. Couldn't ask for much more and was able to get the job done on time!

Works alright, nothing overly great
I bought this to replace my Mac tools air ratchet that started to wear out. I can't really recommend this tool to anyone because, after a couple months of use the forward/reverse switches sticks to the point where I have to use another tool to turn it back and forth. I would buy a more expensive/higher quality model if I was to do it again. Update may 2016 - I was able to fix the ratchet head by disassembling it. But the ratchet is now starting to slip the whole unit will need to be replaced soon.

Excellent value.
At 2/3 the cost of our local distributor and direct to my mail box how could I go wrong? Shipped promptly. This tool replaces a worn out craftsman. It is heavier than the last one, but hopefully will be around for years to come. Noise level is high but ear defenders are optional rather than mandatory. Trigger action is smooth and easy to use. Torque is more than adequate for a 3/8 drive. Well designed and quickly sped up the repair process on our last break down.
