Real Good, But
I really like this expedition weight winter wear, which is pretty much the only gauge I like to wear anymore at 68 all winter. I do not itch in them like others, and even though they talk about cotton not being able to wick as well as synthetic, to be honest, I have had no such problem, and I bicycle all winter long as my only form of transportation, so I do sweat, and really, I have never been uncomfortable because of wet fabric. The only draw back on these that I believe needs improvement is that the tops are not long enough, that is, they can easily pop out of my pants when I bend over, and suddenly I have a cold lower back. Yes they need another healthy 3 inches to the length of the tops at least in back, and it never hurts to have it all around, in front too, creating a little more warmth around the hips to be truly expedition quality. I had to take a star off for the top being too short. They have a tall size for the legs which helps with all of my movement bicycling as I do, giving me a little more slack there, so no points off on the bottom. I hope I have been fair in my analysis.

Has some itch factor and shrinkage !
Purchased my husband one, for a "try and see" - it's a given, there is not a thermal on the market that does not shrink... So I ordered him a 3x and it shrank to the perfect Large tall to 1x size. This isn't the soft we're looking for, mild itch factor, but sadly we've only found one brand that didn't have "the itch".... It works, it's a warm layer for those cold nights working or day time hunting.

Heavy weight cotton thermals.
I gave it four stars because it's not quite as warm as some other materials but on the plus side it's breathable so I don't overheat like with other synthetic materials. I have fleece dry type thermals and they are warmer and not as heavy as these. Indera has a cotton/polyester blend heavy weight thermal that would probably be warmer but not as breathable. This would be more than enough for most people but I do forklift in the cold all day. Today it was about 1 degree with the wind chill today and I froze. I was wearing the matching top and bottom thermals.

Too much shrinkage, and to top it off, it runs small.
I am very disappointed in my purchase of this thermal top. Don't get me wrong, it is nice and thick, however, it shrunk way too much after the first wash. I based my purchase on the review I read from Megan who stated "My husband really likes this thermal. It's warm and soft. The fit is perfect. Not bulky at all. he is 145 lbs 5 foot 10, we got the small. Fits great even after washing." This statement is extremely misleading, I am 5 feet 6 inches tall and weigh 140 lbs and after the first wash the SMALL doesn't fit me at all. The sleeves are too short now and the waistline doesn't even cover my belt. If I lift my arms the waistline rises above my waist exposing my skin. In addition, the seam that runs from shoulder to neck has plastic layer that appears to have been sewn unto it, it's quite rough and tends to rub on my skin causing irritation. My intent in purchasing this thermal was to tuck it inside my pants and wear it under my work shirts without it coming untucked. In order for this to occur I would have to purchase a Large instead of a Small, or a Medium in a tall size, however, I don't plan on purchasing another one since I am not pleased with the sizing, the feel of the material, nor the plastic that is sewn unto the shoulder/neck seam. This is not combed cotton, it's quite rough, perhaps it might become softer after a few washes. If you are planning on purchasing this thermal to wear under your work shirts and wanting it not to come untucked then I recommend you purchase 2 sizes larger, or 1 size larger in a tall size; this is not an exaggeration by any means. I hope other people will benefit from my loss. It is unfortunate that it has almost become impossible to buy good quality clothing that will last. I still wear a black thermal top that I've worn for almost 20 years, and yes, I have maintained my shape all these years. Unfortunately I don't remember the brand or else I would buy a few of them in a heartbeat; although it has thinned out over the years, but overall it still does the job.

this cotton thermal fits like underarmor*
100% cotton.. very heavy base layer.. recommended by this wearer for colder days with limited activity... you will perspire in these during anything more than moderate outdoor activity.. then you will get cold if you slow or stop... so wear these in a two or three layer system on cold days.. and be prepared to break down that 3rd layer at the first sign of sweat... you will need a larger waist size pant to tuck these in if you are already stretching that waist to the max ... I still like the natural 100% cotton fiber against my skin more than any synthetic or hybrid... so some 'thinking' behind the product's pros and cons and best use is well worth it.. NOTE: these fit in a very contouring manner.. they follow your every body ripple.. so if you want looser.. better to go one size larger than you normally wear.. And NEVER dry these in a clothes dryer.. they will shrink at least one size!! .... instead... hang them on a line to dry...

Order 2 sizes up and launder normally.
I bought these with the intention of tie dying them. Knowing that they shrink 2 sizes and bulk up when washed and dried on hot, I ordered accordingly and the results are excellent! The thread is polyester and does not dye, this doesn't bother me but it may some. On the shrinkage... I wear size L. Size 2xl of these fits perfectly after the dyeing process which includes 2 hot washes and 2 runs through the dryer on hot. That shrinks them as far as they will go and really thickens the fabric.

itchy feel
fits great but has an itchy feel and may not be comfortable for inner wear and I am worried it may lead to rashes.
