Quite Satisfied With These Fans For 10x12 Greenhouse
I was in the market for a greenhouse fan or two and decided to take a chance on these. I wasn't really familiar with the brand and these aren't well known in greenhouse circles, but looked to be appropriate. I have been quite satisfied overall after a couple months of use. I used an online calculator to figure out what CFM rating would be needed to replace the entire volume of air in my 10x12 greenhouse every minute. I determined that one of these fans and one 16 inch louver would be almost adequate for the greenhouse. Knowing that these fans were vital to the cooling operation of my greenhouse, I decided to double that and go with two fans and two louvers. This allows complete failure of one of the fans without accidentally killing off my valuable crops. It also provided for installation symmetry, which added a lot of visual appeal in my greenhouse. I wired these fans up to an Inkbird temperature controller and easily can keep my greenhouse temperature from climbing too high. They do their job quite well and a big part of that was over-designing the system slightly. Most of the time, they turn on for less than 30 seconds and turn off until the temperatures again rise. On the warmest of days, they do run quite frequently, but that's the deal with a greenhouse. I am lucky to live in Alaska and can use ambient air temperatures exclusively for cooling pretty much all summer. The 16 inch fans use just under 90 watts each, or 175 watts total between the two fans. According to my killowatt, that results in a couple dollars per month in operating cost. Noise-wise, these are not silent fans as they move some serious air. They sound similar to a mower at a distance, which might be a problem in a suburban area, but not for me out in the sticks. They have been generally quite reliable and were fairly easy to install into the greenhouse after framing out the space for them. The louver operation is pretty much perfect, it encloses my space when not in operation and I haven't had any issues with them failing to close properly. My only gripes are that the fans did not include any of the electrical wiring components or mounting hardware. I had to supply a power cord with a pig-tail and also the washers/screws for physically mounting the device. I suppose this allows the installer a bit of flexibility, but it did mean an extra trip to the hardware store for me. I also get a bit of vibration in the greenhouse from their operation, but this is probably to be expected from such a large fan. The bottom line is I would buy exactly these fans again, assuming they hold up for the long term. They worked really well in a greenhouse application. If anything changes, I'll update this review, but overall I'm happy with the purchase.

Excellent fan????
I had a window in my attic that opened and shut by a string dangling through the downstairs ceiling. I removed the window and used a piece of 1/2" plywood, measured to exact size of window. Then using a jigsaw cut out the circle and mounted the fan. I installed a simple thermostat with adjustable temperature, Air Vent 58033 for $20.86. Easy to install. I placed it 15' from fan, a foot below roof. Locate the black wire(hot wire) that goes from the source of power to the fan, and route it to the thermostat, then to the fan. The thermostat has a white and a black wire. When you route the black, hot wire to thermostat attach it to black wire, then take white wire and attach it to black wire in the fan. Very simple. The hotwire to fan is interrupted by the thermostat which acts like an on, off switch to any appliance. Setting at 90 degrees works pretty well. If I am working in attic I set it at 70 to keep moving the air. Obviously to move air through the fan. You need an inlet for the air to be drawn through the attic. A ridge vent works, another window or an additional roof vent. The fan is pretty quiet, not silent. I am very happy with it. Last comment the board you install fan in should be painted before installing fan. My Lakehouse is white and with two coats of exterior paint it looks nice. I used the hinges from the window so with the fan in board it still operates as a window and can be lifted, in the event that you want to jump out, or just occasionally lift the fan/window and scream blasphemies and profanities out the window at unsuspecting passersby. The fan gets 5 stars

Great small fan
We have two, one for the shop and one in a small greenhouse. One we had to weight. Great fan.

I read a lot of reviews and am glad I selected this fan
I was really worried about choosing the right attic fan for our home because once they are installed, they are difficult to service and / or replace. Some of the views about noise and about the thermostat burning out prematurely concerned me, but I decided to take the plunge and buy this. Installation Installation was easy for my contractor. No issues there. An electrician hooked it up. Noise The fan is running right now in the attic above me and I can hear a very very distant hum if I really concentrate on it. This is a 1972 house with original (thin) insulation so I am surprised I can not hear it more. There is no vibration and outside it looks fine. The louvers also open and close well. Thermostat The thermostat with the remote control is the best part of this fan. I did buy an extended warranty on this piece (bought separately) because I was concerned about premature failure from reading other reviews. The thermostat lets you choose what temperature it goes on and off at, and tells you the current temperature of the attic which I like looking at. The attic did go up to 125 the other day when it was 101 outside, but on most days it keeps it around 110. My house used to make lots of noise as the hot wood contracted in the attic as it cooled... now it's quiet and no longer does that. Air conditioning also working much better. Overall I am very pleased with this purchase and can highly recommend it. If I run into any durability issues I will update this review. Hope this helps!

Shutters don't close very well.
Seems like a great fan thus far. My main complaint is that the shutters don't close fully, I understand they are lightweight so they open and shut as intended but they are so light weight they don't fully close. So if you are looking to keep out bugs etc you might need to keep that in mind. I added a couple 1/2in washers to them to make them weight a bit more (since gravity is what closes them) and that seemed to help. So far the fan runs great though.

Perfect
It's a good fan, I use it in my garage to help ventilate when I weld, solder, paint, smoke up, etc.... works perfectly. works even better if you open a window to allow it to pull in the air. I once did a charcoal bbq in my 20x 18 garage (don't do this) it works great no smoke or smell in the rest of the house.

likely one of my best buys ever
bought this for a 30 by 28 sheep barn to keep the humidity down. It works extremely well. It is fairly quiet and the variable speed is perfect. i had it installed by an electrician while rewiring so cant say it was hard or easy .
