This fan is impervious to the elements

Oh my goodness! This fan has been really amazing. I got it because my neighbor smokes, and I wanted to try to keep the smoke smell from entering my yard. I actually got two of these fans so that I could place them in strategic locations. I leave one of them on all the time on low, turning it off only if there is a forecast for ice or freezing rain. I'm not sure that would have any detrimental effect on the fan, but I figure there's no point in the motor trying to work when the fan blades are possibly accumulating ice. When I'm outside and my neighbor comes out, I will turn the first fan on to high, and then I will also turn the second fan on to high as well. It's amazing the difference they make. When they are on high, they are quite loud, and the one that I leave on low all the time is vibrating a little bit, but I think it's because of the angle I have it set on. That is another effective feature of this fan. You can angle the air flow pretty much anywhere you want it. I have left both fans out year round, and they both work completely fine. The one that is on low, I actually have on a timer so it comes on every day for 18 hours and goes off from midnight to 6:00 a.m. . The one thing to be aware of with these fans though is that when they are on high, they do draw quite a bit of electricity. For a short period of time, I left both of them on high because I was out in the yard a lot, and I actually saw a difference in my electricity usage. Leaving one of them on low 18 hours a day is much less impactful. It makes sense that they draw a bit of electricity though because the air flow is quite significant when the highest setting is used. The one other thing I want to point out about this fan, and it is pretty much the reason I bought it among the others I found, is that it works just fine sitting on a flat surface. In fact, I have it zip tied to a milk crate to elevate it just a bit, and then the milk crate is anchored in place with bricks. It has worked just fine for both fans. When I was searching for a fan for my particular usage, I needed one that did not have to be wall mounted, and I also wanted one that was truly weatherproof. This one has satisfied both of those requirements, in addition to having a strong air flow to do what I need it to do. I highly recommend this fan if your needs are similar to mine.

Awesome... A lot of airflow for the price

We visited a place in Florida on the water that had these along their back porch. They highly recommended them. I have mine under our porch where the grill and smoker are to help move the smoke. Works great and I am sure it will be much better when it warms up to cool the area down.

Mounting and cage removal

The fan itself seems to be of good quality. The method and hardware for mounting this fan could use some work. The bolts both fell into fan cage and couldn't get them out without cutting the bars in the cage. The cage needs to have pressure tabs instead of screws in case the fan needs to be cleaned.

Outdoor fan

I love this fan!! I bought it for my terrace to blow away mosquitoes and it does the job!!!

Mostly all weather

We looked for something to provide airflow through our chicken run during the summer and wanted something that was weather resistant. This fan seems to fit the bill with its sealed motor and overall build. Our application was as an external fan that blew into the run. The first workaround involved installation. This fan is designed to be mounted from the top or rear - not really an option when placed on the ground. I made a wood frame with legs and hung the fan from that - low enough to be stable and still portable to move while finding the optimal location. The second small problem was the speed control chain. While the fan is great for outside, the chain is actually a fabric string leading into the motor control box. After a few months of sun and rain, the string became a little weak and my wife inadvertantly stepped on it while lifting - snapping off the string inside the control box and leaving the fan stuck in the off position. Disassembling the fan, I was able to access the remnant of the string just well enough to lock it in the middle speed before reassembling. We don't miss the low or high speeds and control the on/off through a power strip. Even at the one speed the airflow is good. Have purchased another for additional cooling in another run.

Just get this. Don't go cheap on other junks.

Installed this under the deck with a tv mounting bracket to swivel easily. Build quality is awesome and it's very quiet. Level 3 will blow you away so setting 1 is adequate enough on daily use. Overall excellent fan. Just get this!

Quiet and easy to install outdoors

High quality - outdoor use was easy to install. Quiet operation and works great with the optional mister. Completely changed my outdoor space in hot weather whether the awning is out or not.

Moves a lot of air

Bought this for our outdoor gazebo. Moves lots of air, keeps the patio cooled down. Hopefully it lasts over time, but would probably buy again even if I get just a few seasons from it.

Solid fan!

I used this as a fan in our outdoor gazebo. Had to make a custom mount for it, but it was otherwise plug and play. Has three speeds, at the lowest it’s relatively quiet. At the higher speeds it’s noticeable, but certainly not loud. Would recommend it for anyone looking for a compact outdoor fan.

Make sure your long hair isn't behind the fan.

This fan is amazing. We are a family with long haired women and we need to be very cautious when near the fan even though it's in the corner. Speeds are amazing and keeps us cool on the deck!
