Good, safe pillow for a toddler

I bought this pillow for my 16mo old daughter. We never bought a pillow for my 3yr old son until he moved to a bed but my daughter has some drainage issues and tends to get a lot of colds so we figured it might help. It is a little firm but a great size for her convertable crib. It takes up about 1/3 of the standard crib mattress width so there is plenty of room around her to not use it. She still doesn't really use it but I don't think that has anything to do with the pillow. She certainly plays with it enough - just when she goes to sleep she still likes to just lie flat. I did lop one star off because the 'matching' pillowcase matches the pillow - not the pink velour pillow case it shows in the picture. So you get one colored pillow case and one natural pillow case with a woven texture instead of the fluffy velour. My kids, at least, think that means a totally different pillow which means it's really not useful. I think the product would be better if it had two matching cases or just the one and a reduced price so someone could buy the matching case. Maybe a little nitpicky of me but 5 stars should be hard to beat and with the extra firmness and the spare pillow case not being very useful I can't give it a 5. I would recommend it though. One last note is that this is probably firm enough that it can be used as a 'step' by a kid ready to climb out of their crib. I'm at least a few months away from worrying about that but other people may be a little closer to the point of no return. 4/11/2013 UPDATE: In the past month or so my 21mo daughter started using this regularly. While she still ends up on occasion lying on just her mattress more often than not she is lying on this pillow when we leave her room and lying on it when we go in to get her up in the morning. I'm purchasing a second one that she can use at her daycare. I will probably keep the pink covers at home and send the plain, white ones to school. She is still a pretty small kid for her age so the pillow still works well for her but I would imagine it will be good for at least another 6 months. She has not used it as a 'step' at all but she now has a Leapfrog Violet in her crib as well and that would be just as effective. So I'm not that worried about it anymore.

Wish it was bigger

Bought this to go with my kids new bed. It's to small by its self we wish it was bigger. It's super soft and love the removable cover.

An adult supplemental pillow

Not just for toddlers. I use this as my "supplemental" pillow and that works great for me (regular pillow on the bottom; this one on top). I sewed a nice flanged pillowcase for it. Looks great on my bed.

It’s Extra Firm

Because of the lengthy description and details of this product I guess I overlooked they mention it’s extra firm! I’m not aware of a child that would use this pillow. It’s very hard. You can’t adjust filling. I’m an adult…50 something and had to return it. It would probably be good to use for support for your knees while sleeping. The picture shows a kids head sinking into it…….false advertising for sure.

Small and comfy

I bought for myself, not a child. I use as car pillow on trips, and knee support in hotels when sleeping. I can pack it in my suitcase easily when flying. I bought 2 extra pillow cases that fit it from same company. Very comfy pillow.

Great size for a toddler and the case has held ...

Great size for a toddler and the case has held up well through numerous washes. I like that the case has a zipper as my daughter tends to take the cases off that don't have the zipper. The pillow itself is comfy but is a little on the firm side for a little head. Although it's foam, a child's head doesn't weigh that much for it to sink in very much. I suppose it's preference and I suppose it being more firm is comforting to parents for children transitioning to a pillow for the first time.

Soft pink, love the fabric....

Love the velour fabric, and the color is a light, soft pink, which is perfect! The white pillow case that came with it is plain, no zipper, kind of stiff even after a washing. The memory foam is a bit stiff. When I lay my 2-year-old down, her head doesn't depress it, so her neck is more flexed than I would like. I have never found her actually sleeping on it, my guess is she immediately rolls off, so I don't know how well it conforms or softens around her head. It's about 4 inches in thickness.

too hard and thick

It's too hard. Because it's too hard, there is no give it is too thick and puts my childs head at an awkward angle. I was expecting a softer memory foam product, not something this stiff. I tried to soften it up but didn't work. We ended up not using it at all after a couple of nights.

Es super suave la funda a mi bebé le encanta. la tengo desde hace varios meses y no se ha deformado ni decolorado y ya lleva varias lavadas la funda
