Stains! What stains?

In searching through all the products of this type, I was curious and cautioned by all the reviews that said this product stained. But I'll get to that in a minute. It's always been difficult for me to find a mat due to my sink drain hole position. It's not in the center and not precisely in the corner. Most often, I have to measure and trim the edges and cut out the drain hole iin the correct spot. When I recieved the product and openned the bag, I was very surprised at how thick this mat was. It's between 2 to 3 mm's thick. That was important too me, due to having to cut and trim. Thickness is important. Now, the stains. I did notice that tomato based refuse did discolor the mat a bit. My wife loves asparagus and the juice left behind does stain the sink. I've always used Clorox Cleaner+Bleach spray to remove the stains from the sink. After I sprayed the sink, I sprayed both sides of the mat and put it back in the sink without rinsing either. As you can see by the photo, there's no discoloring after using this this product for 6 weeks. I rated this product 5 Stars in all categories. Normal deligence in cleaning and finding the right product to clean with, you should have no problems with stains.

Perfect for my dog's snuffle mat

This was the perfect base for making a snuffle mat for my dog. I bought 2 yards of fleece from a local fabric store, cut them into 6 inch lengths, and then tied them to this plastic grid. The grid feels really sturdy and I like that I can throw the whole thing into the washing machine once it gets dirty.

The Interdesign #36800 12.5x16 Clear Large Sink Mat is real sink saver. We recently installed a new porcelain farmhouse sink and wanted to protect it from scratches due to my cast iron skillets and to protect my plates from breaking or chipping if not placed gently in the sink. It performs just as I hoped. It was slightly larger than my sink but that allows it to slightly roll up 2 of the walls of my sink which only provides that much more protection. I love the fact that the checkerboard design allows the water the flow freely down the drain but more importantly I was able to cut nice square holes just slightly larger than my drains so I don't have to remove the mat when I need to empty the sink. I do find myself having to remove the mat to clean the food particles that get caught underneath the mat but I believe that is to be expected with any sink mat. Being a clear mat it allows you to see thru it to know if you have left any food particles still in the sink. After cooking a few meals with colored sauces - like spaghetti my mat has started to stain but for me that is also expected.

If you can't find the most Perfect Sink Mat, Poor You that you had to visit the stores for hours to try and find it. Let's see what you got? Oh that's nice, but nothing like mine. Look how mine looks in the clean sink, aahhhh, so nice. The sink itself is not nice, it's like it's tarnished, so slap this in there and bingo bongo it's nice again. I bought two of these, and another chinsy one for backup and other projects. But this one looks nice and I love it. It's too bad that it can't stay beautiful forever, but such is life and I can't go anywhere to look for these things so thank you Interdesign I love you also. Now when my darling does the dishes it's not so loud and won't give me a headache. It doesn't slip in my sink because it's bottom is as big as this Mat, and the wholes are the perfect size to let the Sink Stopper I bought also - stick out through it. I would like to use it also to wash all my fragile things in the sink, they will go bang bang and might even break from the sides of the sink but I'm so happy with this mat, I'm trying to think if I should use one in the washroom sink where the soaps we use can easily fall right into the sink. I don't like to waste a good soap, so use them till they're small and sometimes they fall. Ya, What a great idea, thanks I'll try that.

Heavy duty sink mat.

I actually bought this sink mat to make our puppy a snuffle mat. I used strips of fleece and tied them to each square in each direction. Our puppy loves snuffling through the strips to find hidden treats. The mat is a nice heavy duty mat.

Almost perfect except for the splashing

Splashes quite badly when the water stream does not hit the right spot. Other than that it works as intended. The nipples on the bottom let the water drain out completely. I cut a bit off of the corners for a perfect fit. Very easy to trim to size.

Seriously flawed design

Put this in the bottom of your sink. Turn on the water. Watch the water splash out of the sink and all over the kitchen. This product has a serious design flaw.

Great base for a snuffle mat

I ordered this to use as a base for a snuffle mat for my dog. I tied fleece strips through each hole and then I hide treats within the strips and he sniffs them out. My dog is blind so this is a great toy for him. The sink grid mat is flexible, lightweight, and strong. I shopped everywhere before buying one and this was the best one I found. Very happy with it.
