Good! Semi-hard to install
I didn’t want to make any holes in my rented apartment so I opted for a tension rod for my curtain. I’ve used and set up tension rods before and I’m not sure why I had a harder time setting this one up... After a couple tries and playing around with it, I got it in! I wanted to make sure it was extra tight within my window. I was working in a smaller space, so maybe that was why it was a little harder to set up. The directions are straight forward! You size it to your space, add an inch, twist it (a couple times) until it stops, and insert it into the space. I’ve only had it up for a couple days, it seems secure, hopefully it stays that way.

Odd installation
Every tension rod I have ever purchased requires you to put it up to the wall at length then turn the rod to add tension. This one is a little weird, definitely read the instructions. They have you open it to the opening width, open it an inch further, then turn to tighten, then jam it into the opening again. Strange and challenging way to install it but overall, it is installed and that's really all I can ask for

Easy to install
After looking at similar items, I settled on this after reading the reviews. A number said it was difficult to figure out and install. When I received it and read the instructions, it went in on my first try and it is still holding solidly to this day. I would recommend this product and would buy it again.

YES, IT DOES WORK!!
InterDesign Cameo Constant Tension Bathroom Shower Curtain Rod - 26-42", Small, White Watch the product video and read the positive reviews ranked Most Helpful. The simplest way to control the tension is this: Hold the smaller diameter rod in your right hand and the larger diameter rod in your left hand. (I was careful not to take the rod apart since I didn't want to mess with the way they were put together). Now, holding the right hand steady on the smaller rod in a grip like you would use on a chin-up bar, if you twist the small bar forward away from yourself (counterclockwise rotation) this tightens the tension and locks the bar at whatever length it is at that time. To loosen the tension so that the length can be changed, again with your left hand gripping the large bar, you grip the smaller bar with the right hand and twist the smaller bar towards yourself (clockwise rotation). The small bar is the one you twist. You just have to remember away from you tightens, towards you loosens. I did not have to twist more than a few turns to lock or release the tension. Once I determined the length the rod would be when it was installed, I marked right where the plastic sleeve on the large rod came to on the small rod. I used a very fine point sharpie and made a very short line. Then I loosened the tension and lengthened the rod a little, and made a second mark on the small rod 1 inch past the first mark. Finally, I set the smaller rod back to the second mark and tightened the tension, locking the bar at that length. I chose to do it this way because it's awkward trying to guesstimate that extra inch of length needed to be able to compress just enough to put the bar in place but still fit tightly. If you mark it laying flat on the floor or a table, you can get it adjusted more easily than wrestling with it over your head. My rod is white so it was easy to mark and place it so the marks don't show. I like the rod. It is substantial, with a good quality finish out of the box. It looks nice in my shower and feels nice and snug.

Not good for plastic tiling
It's good, but not great for plastic tiling. It slips down a lot!

It stays up!
I wanted curtains in an unheated sunroom. I tried a standard tension rod from Walmart, but it immediately fell down. After adjusting it and trying again, I walked in the next morning to find it on the floor. That’s when I decided to look on Amazon. I found this curtain rod and gave it a try as it was not that expensive and had good reviews. I read the instructions to install it and it was not difficult. The curtain rod went up immediately; held four standard curtain panels and has stayed up all through spring and summer. I had such a good experience I’m back to order another!

Alternate directions for setting the rod -great rod
I'd have given it 5 stars if the first rod would have worked. Amazon replaced it with an identical ro that also didn't work. Then I called Amazon who referred me to the manufacturer. They sent me the following info via email and now the rod works beautifully. I suggested to them that they include this info with the rod. "Let’s see if I can get this rod to tighten for you. I would like you to open the extension piece approx. 8” then close it fast, repeat this again. Now holding the bottom portion of the rod with your left hand and extension piece with your right hand, bring out the extension piece approx. 8-10” and turn the rod “clockwise” (away from you) till it tightens. This may take a few turns or it can take up to 2 minutes. Were you able to tighten the rod? If you were able to tighten it, just turn the extension piece with your right hand “counterclockwise” so you can loosen it again. Adjust the pole to your clearance length plus 1” then turn “clockwise again to tighten it. (example: if you clearance was 28” then your total length of the pole should be 29”, which will include the 1” for tension.) Just a little note, when you go to tighten the rod, only turn it till it stops, don’t overtighten it or the tension will break in the pole. Also, if you go to put up your rod and the fit is not SNUG then take the pole down again, readjust it then put it back up. The rod should be very SNUG so the pole doesn’t come down on anyone." The rod is quite sturdy and I believe would hold a heavy curtain, but I'm using only for a light fabric. Very good rod.

Fantastic - read before you buy
When something you don't expect to work so well works soooo well, it deserves a good review, especially if some bad reviews I suspect are down to not fitting properly. I hung curtains from the wash so they were quite heavy and wet to dry in place, which I thought might be a problem, plus they are cotton with a 230cm drop. No issues at all. Fitted in an reassessed window, the instructions said to set the unit (twist and tighten) to 1" longer than needed and then you use the spring action to push it into place and the when released there is a tension and it should be super tight. This might be the problem, I set it to nearly 3 inches over the size of the resess and with a decent amount of force was able to pushed it back enough to pop it in place. Once in place I still had enough give to slide it to the top and move it into position. After that it was rock solid and going nowhere. Feels super sturdy and been up for days without issues. So all in all-go for it. Had loads of problems fitting and screwing into the wall as new build apartment had steel behind plasterboard so this was a last chance idea and it worked! Happy enough to share my fantastic experience with this curtain pole. :D ????

Don’t peel off the sticker!
I quickly read the sticker then peeled it off. The cat ran away with it and I forgot the instructions. Could not get it to work so had to come on here to read the FAQs. I practised on the door till I got it to work then managed to secure it. I used it as a curtain holder. Works well after a lot of faffing about. Strong and sturdy.

Easy to Use and Strong
i dont use this as a shower curtain, but I have an extra broad doorway and use this as a curtain pole so that i can hang a curtain to keep the warmth in. It has proven easy to use, carries a quite heavy curtain and is very durable, really pleased with the purchase.

Easy installation, quick delivery and sturdy!
The media could not be loaded. I honestly am not familiar with tension rods whatsoever, I just looked up the dimensions and this product came up. Delivery was fast, colour was accurate (I got dark brown/black) and instructions were quite simple. There are instructions listed on the rod itself that were slightly harder to understand, but there are instructions on the side of the product box that are easy to follow. It has been up for the weekend and I've had no problems. Also, I'd like to add that it is very smooth so the shower curtain moves with ease. Great product, thanks!
