Original Review 6/16/2013: ************************************ These work as advertised and are a lot more durable than the cheaper kind with the thin band of metal that is supposed to clip onto your belt(Some people claim they received the cheaper kind when they ordered the premium one, I did not have that problem). I would like to mention I have had this for 8 months, I mainly use it to keep my lighter with my keys, I don't use the extendable part very often(I have a long set of keys on a lanyard and never need to "stretch" or extend the lighter leash to use my lighter) , however I feel it would still be working just fine even if I used that part of it a lot. This thing gets a lot of beating on my keys, stepped on, sat on dropped on the floor and shows no signs of breaking. My cigarette lighters used to last me about 4 or 5 days before getting snagged by someone before I started using this, now I can get literally 4 months use out of each lighter. This thing has paid for itself at least 8 times. I would recommend to anybody who needs to tame their unruly lighter. Update 4/16/2015 ************************************ The string on my lighter leash broke. It happened about two months ago but I am just now getting around to updating this review. I have been using the same lighter leash for almost two and half years. I would say that's a pretty good run. The string broke while I was extending the leash so fortunately I did not lose the lighter, but I could imagine it happening. Which would not be a huge deal anyway considering how many lighters this thing saves. I would purchase this again and recommend it to anybody who carries a lighter with them. Men can attach it to keys (does not look as tacky as wearing it on your belt loop) and women can attach it somewhere inside their purse. It is also perfect for concerts and music festivals.

Cheap, broken already!

Worked for a few weeks but about 1.5 months after buying it I was walking back to my car and it just fell apart!

LOVE IT!!

Love having my lighter on my keychain. Easily accessible while driving or anywhere else. Keys are always in my purse along with my cigs, so its very convenient. I keep one in my smoking room and attached to my rear view as well. I always have a lighter handy and if anyone needs to borrow a light, they aren't able to just slip mine in their pocket and walk off. I swear ive only bought a total of 4-5 lighters this past year, thanks to my lighter leash. I usually end up buying a 5 pack of lighters a month bc of ppl walking off with my lighter or the seats and crevices in my car eating them. This $2 gadgert has already saved me at least $20 this year and they still work great. Will be replacing one that my kids broke playing with it. It withstood my 5yr old stretching to let it pop back in a lot longer than I thought it would though.

GREAT for so MANY reasons, A MUST HAVE

These are great for people who work with their hands because you will never lose it nor have to fish around in pocket to find it. These are Great for outdoor people because you will always be able to find it to start Campfires or Grills, use during fishing especially if you forget a knife and have to do something with the fishing line, and many more uses for outdoors. These are also great for people who has a tendency to lose or have you lighter stolen. Also its just convenient to have your lighter handy and not have to look or dig around for it. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars is because you don't have a choice of the colors you receive.

pays for itself in lost lighters

i really like this product despite some minor flaws i have found. some of the issues are limited range when borrowing someone a lighter, especially from across the room and it does not fit lighters that are not bics. i plan on ordering a couple more and keep them strapped to end tables around the house as community lighters and keep one strapped to my belt loop. honestly, it doesnt bother me too much that the cheap lighters don't fit because they were getting me angry at how many flicks it took to get them lit anyways. bics are the standard in lighters and i really don't see it as a big problem that i have to use them. i actually keep lighters until they are dead now, and i always know where my lighters are. this is the reason i bought it, and it clearly preformed its job effectively and efficiently. it might be nice if i could pick the color however, i was happy with white and blue... please do not send me a pink for my next order lol.

Awesome, Seller Exhale Inc.

I've needed one of these for a long time and now I have one :) I've only seen one person with this gadget in my whole life. I guess you just have to be at the right gas station at the right time in order to find one. The metal clip is of nice quality. It shouldn't fall of off at all, and the body is a nice thick plastic. The holder grips the lighter securely and if I want more grip, all I have to do is add tape around the lighter to thicken it up. What I did (even though it doesn't really need it) is carefully pull off the sticker that comes on the Bic and wrapped the bottom. Now it should REALLY be in there. And lastly, I used the seller Exhale Inc. They actually email me back within a few hours when I ask a simple question. Thought I would mention it, since I have emails still out on some items that cost a lot more. :)

I got a clip, not a clasp!

My leash has a clip (like to secure onto your belt) and not a clasp like I was expecting. I was planning on putting this onto my keychain but now I can't. So.. I put this on my visor in my car so I never loose my lighter while I'm driving haha which happens all too often. I would've liked to order more but I'm worried they'll be clips too and that isn't exactly what I wanted. However, the rubber used to secure my lighter works perfectly. It's big enough to hd a standard size bic lighter yet can also hold one of those cheapy- less-than-$0.90 lighters they sell at gas stations. I like that. I won't be loosing my lighter in my car again haha

Ive had many of these over the last few years ...

Ive had many of these over the last few years. Had to resort to buying them online as my local smoking shop no longer stocks them. I thought they would all be the same but for some reason the plastic seems looser and my lighter keeps falling out. a bit gutted as i find them really useful
