Great!
I decided to try growing in a dirt pot because I’ve seen videos that say it’s a good option. I wanted to grow some potatoes. There are many videos that say you can grow potatoes in a 5 gal bucket so I figured that the 15 gallon DIRT POT should work even better. It really feels like a great product, very easy to use and so far the results are good. I’ve only move them a little bit and the move very easily and the handles are really strong. I expected that I would have to keep a close eye on the watering because of the porous make up of the bag. I dislike digging potatoes so my goal is to be able to empty the pots on a tarp after the tops die back. I also plan on transferring the spent dirt into my regular beds at the end of the year. I look forward to seeing how many seasons I can get out of the DIRT POT!

Pretty darn durable
Overall 4 of the 5 bags I purchased held up well. One bat did split on the sidewall, near the bottom. Based on the performance of all the bags, I'd guess that this was more of thin spot in the bag. However, the split was small and didn't stop us from picking up and moving the bag on several occasions. I'm going to get some felt and try patching it over the winter. I purchased the 15 gallon bags in the spring and they did come with the handles. (I did a little research and it appears that the handles are not on the smaller sized bags.) I used them to plant potatoes this year and eventually all the bags were filled 50-80%. My soil mix included a heavy hand of composted sheep manure. I mention this to give some perspective on the chemical resistance. The bags started on the ground. We had a very dry and then *very* wet spring -- there was about two weeks or more where the bags never dried out. With the help of my mom, we picked up and moved the bags at least 5 times over the course of the season. The handles were very sturdy and we never thought they were in danger of breaking In the last round, we allowed our potato crop to go dry for a four or five days. Harvesting was a snap! We did all five bags in about a half hour. We upended the bags into a wheelbarrow. One person pulled the potatoes out while the other began pulling the dirt out into another container. Once we sifted through and thought we got all the potatoes, we tipped the wheelbarrow up and slowly poured the rest of the dirt out. No bruised potatoes and more importantly, no sore backs that the ground digging resulted in the previous year. It took us hours to harvest this many potatoes out of the ground before, and we invariably either damaged some with digging tools or missed some. I recommend this product - one of the best prices I found for similar products.

This is a really sturdy substitute that is a lot easier to move around ...
This is a really sturdy substitute that is a lot easier to move around because of the heavy duty material and well-made handles. My salad greens (mesclun, spinach), seem to be growing well in the bag. Only reason i didnt give it five stars is because I am partial to my Patio Pickers (purchased at local box store), because the PP are larger and come with casters. If you have this in a very humid environment, you might want to fill the bottom two inches with rocks for drainage. Since it has high handles and (lower) surface area of dirt, may not get enough direct wind , you may get some surface mold unless you put it in a room that has sufficient aeration/low humidity. I found that my indoor Greenhouse with 95% humidity was leading to many of my plants to grow mold. I reduced the continual mold growth by : 1) Pulling a few of my larger plants outdoors during partly cloudy days above 50 degrees; 2) Hanging up two tiny fans ; 3) and , opening my greenhouse doors and air panels during the day for venting; You can always remove the mold without harm to your plant using 3% hydrogen peroxide or water diluted with 1 tsp of dishwashing soap. Finally, after killing and removing active spores , remove top toil, add new top soil, and add a sprinkling of cinnamon to discourage development of new spores. If the mold returns, you may need to replant. .

So far so good..... UPDATED
The 10 gallon dirt pots just arrived. The 10 gallons have handles that are doubled up and very secure, not sure if the other sizes have handles. It is a charcoal gray not a black bag. By the pic I thought it was black, but whatever, to me it's not a big deal. I will be planting 2 year old dwarf fruit trees in these pots, and I will update soon. Update after being in the ground for a year! These are GREAT bags! I have several of these pots and only ONE handle on ONE of the pots broke, but what can you expect it is full of compacted soil! This bag, once cleaned off, looks like you barely used it! They are still VERY sturdy bags, after digging them out earlier today. I will be getting some bigger ones this year!! If you have to take a plant with you, get this pot!!! As for getting this pot out of the ground, I recommend not allowing grass to grow around the pot, cause the roots are a pain to pull out of the bag! Plant your plant in the pot, pick a spot free of grass and other plants, and MULCH around the pot a few inches so that no grass and weeds will get in your pot!!! To get out, use a pitch fork to loosen the soil around the pot and a spade to lift it up enough for you to pull it out. You might need someone to help you do this. It does take some work to get it out of the ground after a year, but it is well worth it to bring the plants with you!!!

Good sturdy fabric and handles.
I had to bring in a new young blueberry bush for the cold winter. This bag worked perfect, as it will when spring comes and the tree can go back out.

A pot by any other name....
These are great, I had a couple back in the States and was so glad to see them on amazon over here. I swear it helps plants overwinter and not freeze/die in very cold weather. Other grow-bags are thin material which are useful but won't protect a plant's roots - these do. I wish they had handles (at least mine don't) but otherwise no criticism. Good to see them on amazon here!

smaller narrower 1gal
update: autos perform noticibly better in these 1 gals than several shapes and styles of 1gal plastic pots, as well as my 7" diameter base 1gal fabric pots and radicle bags. these 1gals are much smaller than other 1gallon fabric pots. typical "1gal" fabric pots with a 7" base can hold like 1 1/2 to 2 gallons of actual soil mix. but these hold just under a gallon. fine for my applications though--just running dwarf autos SoG. like how sturdy and easy to move they are. sides dry SUPER fast. taller narrower shape than all other fabric 1gals ive seen. edit: also fit snugly into used nursery flats intended to carry 6-8 1-gal round trade pots. can carry 6 pots in each hand and dunk all 6 in a tote of compost tea easily.

They are good as long as you have a tray beneath them.
I switched to fabric planters and in all cases I am happy with them. Though they do leak a little having them over a tray keeps them from being a mess. The fabric soaks up over watering the plant while keeping the soil at a good level of moistness. They are also lighter when moving them around than an equivalent size solid planter.

satisfied with this purchase. will NOT repurchase again.
pros: 1. accent for draining water, plants have less chance of overwatering. I poked wholes on the plastic ones next to it, but the fabric planter still drain much faster than the other planters 2.0reusable. after one use, I would just wash then very carefully ( not to rip them) cons: 1. over priced comparing to a plastic planter. I found some much cheaper ones on alibaba. all of them are made in China anyway, so I will not repurchase from them again. 2. you have to have a plate under it !!!!!! otherwise you will destroy your plant when you pick the planter up.

Not worth it, doesn't do what it says it will.
This product does not increase airflow to the roots. In fact, I had to repot plants because it was retaining moisture and they were at risk of root rot. Also, when I watered, the water would just start pouring out the sides at the middle. Not sure how it retained so much moisture with the amount of water that just leaks out the sides, but I really don't recommend these at all.
