Husband loves it!

The only complaint I really have is that it is quite loud. Ours is on the other side of the house, so the noise level generally only affects our guests.

Better than expected

This product arrived with a broken glass door. Amazon quickly replaced it. New unit: The setup after allowing it to sit for 24 hours was not too difficult. Attaching the door handle took a bit of looking as you need to remove a section of the door seal to attach the door handle but the seal pops right back in. The fill for the humidor is a bit trying. It is best to use a funnel to add distilled water to it. There is no fill gauge on the tank and you cannot see the water without using a small light. The temperature and humidity setting was very easy. Once setup it took about 2 full days to begin to level off and after 5 days it does not fluctuate very much. The humidity and temperature gauge seems to be pretty accurate. A small fluctuation in temp and humidity is normal. New cigars and older ones added to the drawers and after a short amount of time (15 days) all seem to be very nice when removed. The lights are so nice, very bright and come on when door is opened. Go off when door is close. This allows you to find your stick easily. The unit is pretty quiet. Does not make much noise at all. This was a very good purchase for us and a very good value for the money if you have many sticks that require a large humidor.

Runs too often

Overall, it works as expected when it comes to storing your cigars while maintaining a good quality over a long period of time. I feel confident storing and aging expensive cigars in this unit. Unfortunately, it's too noisy for the size and you have to be careful where you place your favorite cigars within the unit: 1. I set it up to 69 degrees / 69% humidity and the unit runs too frequently, I need to find another room for it. It's in my office right now and I can't concentrate anymore since it's working every 2 to 5 minutes to regulate itself. Noisy gurgling and cracking sounds (compressor-based system), I find it noisier than my fridge in the kitchen. I made sure to follow all the instructions leaving plenty of clearance all around the unit and the room temperature is fairly stable (70 to 72 degrees). It's very quiet when it doesn't work, fans are very quiet too, problem is, it runs too frequently. 2. The temperature is consistent throughout the unit, but the humidity isn't. There's about 4 degrees difference between the bottom shelf and the top one. Make sure to keep that in mind when you place your cigars in the unit. I do see the fan running inside once in a while so there's no defect here. I think people often test those things using a single device in a single location. As you can see on the picture, 3 similar devices recording 3 different levels of humidity throughout the unit. I'd say the middle shelf is what you set the unit at. Anything above or below may be exposed to a different humidity.

Newair 840 all in one

When attaching the pull handle the screws broke thru the plastic. However a quick call to Newair support and replacement parts were on the way. Newair sent a complete new machine, I called and asked if I could just swap the broken door which was was fine by customer service. I also inquired about ordering an extra shelf (unit ships with 3, but can fit 5). I was told they were out of stock but the service rep would reach out and see if I could buy one from the unit being returned. About an hour later I received an email thanking me for my purchase of the Newair Humidor and was told to remove a shelf, and there would be no charge. Wow now I have more storage- still not sure about the capacity of 840 Cigars, but I’m going to try.

Expensive but works great. Extra shelves should have been included

As you can see in the photos, this should include an extra two shelves from the start. I called NewAir to ask about ordering extras and the said they were $84 EACH -- wtf! Other than that, it's a big noisy but holds temp and humidity wonderfully.

Great Quality, Extremely Attractive, Not Noisy

This Humidor has it all. Lots of room, looks really sharp, and is easy to use. Has its own water storage for moisture, and heats or cools. Unlike other reviews, I do not find this Humidor to be noisy at all. Honestly, not sure what they are talking about. Great price too, cheapest you’ll find for this unit. No regrets.

Great, but doesn’t live up to the hype…

I was holding off on this because of the price, but several good reviews and YouTube videos later, I pulled the trigger. I have a calibrated SensorPush in to monitor the environment. The good: - Holds temperature within a degree or so - Very well built, drawers have a great cedar scent - Lighting is terrific The not-so-good: - Humidity cycles about 3% every 10 minutes - Temp and humidity holds lower than setting by 1-2 degrees/percent (average) - Noisier than expected. It’s gurgling about 60% of the time, loud enough to hear from another room - Drawers are smooth most of the time but catch as they are moved in and out causing shifts in contents - Filling the humidifier is very clunky, max fill indicator difficult to see Overall, it’s a good unit, maybe some room for improvement…

Best humidor I’ve owned

I love this product. I live in dry Phoenix, Az and getting a humidor that will hold humidity is hard, and even harder to keep it cool in the summers. This humidor solved all those problems. I throw 2-3 320g Boveda packs in there (I use the 75% ones since it’s so dry here, but you can probably use the 72% if you don’t live in dry climates) and it hold my humidity level perfectly and hold the temp perfectly. I might add some more led strip lights to it eventually since the tiny light at the top only lights the top part. Other than that it’s great. Owe and make sure to season it first. I wiped down all the wood with distilled water and left a container of distilled water in there for 24-48 hours to season it.

Know what you're buying

Hi folks, I wanted to provide some insight for anyone buying this unit. I did alot of research before buying it and a few things never came up that I want to share. The construction is good so don't worry about anyone complaining about it. First, it does make noise. The fan always works and it's enough to notice. So if you're sensitive to noise you won't like it. I have one of the cheaper 150 wine fridge humidors and you can't hear it. This one you will notice. Second, any thermoelectric unit draws air from outside so that means that if it's colder than what you have it set at in the room, the unit will always be cooler than what you set it at. Also, when the cooling is "off" it's still cooling to a certain level (the voltage is cut but doesn't stop the cooling unit). Some people also complain about high humidity and condensation and that's because of the ambiant air. The fan always pulls air from outside so if you have that high humidity issues, get a dehumidifier. If it's too hot outside then you'll get condensation. These humisors are a total different animal from the sealed wooden units.

bad quality inspection

Cedar wood tray came broken, Hygromete not working… looks like the batteries dead just bad quality control inspection, other than that the unit seems to be working OK, having trouble getting it to stay at 70 degrees.. would like these parts replace please.

No longer works

2 days short of 1 year of ownership and it no longer cools. The fan is running but it can't get below 73.5 degrees. My experience up to now has been positive but i was hoping to get a few years out of this unit at $600. I emailed customer service, let's see what they say...
