Solved Issue With AC Tripping the Breaker
My brother was stationed temporarily in Phoenix. It gets 110+ there regularly. He is staying in his camper at a local military base during the week and commuting home on weekends. He observed that when he would get back to the trailer at 5:30 pm and turn the AC on, he would have a problem with the breaker tripping. Could not figure out why, everything seemed to be in good working order on the trailer. I told him it was likely that everybody else in the military base was likely doing the same thing (come home, turn AC on full tilt) and that was causing a voltage sag, which was causing the AC to pull extra amps to compensate... enough that the breaker would trip. He was skeptical, so I bought this Autoformer for him. After plugging it into the shore power, and the trailer into the Autoformer, he had ZERO problems with the AC breaker the rest of the summer. IMHO this is a valuable appliance for anyone who travels with an RV where shore power stability may become an issue. Thank you Hughes!

Useful, needs slight design improvements
Really is helpful to have this in conjunction with the stand. The unit is typically weather proof anyways, but this is going to help protect your connection prongs and make the unit appear alot less like a $500 block someone could walk away with.

Works as described.
With the influx of new campers and campgrounds full the electric grid has a strain on it so at times you are not getting 120v and the autoformer kicks in to keep you at a safe voltage.

Almost perfect fit
Keeps equipment dry. Fits with cord from post power and then camper power cord.. the only reason it didn't get five stars for everything.. when you're using the lock and cable . Cable's not long enough to go under the cover to keep unit dry.. if you don't plan to use the lock cover works perfect

Heavy, sturdy and works well
I was having trouble with fluctuating voltage at a camp site and so decided to give this unit a try. It is not inexpensive but it seems to be exceptionally well-built. It is also very heavy but has a handy carrying handle. I have used it for only a couple of days but as far as I can tell, it is working flawlessly. I also purchased the holding tray and the rain cover. Again, both pieces are quality pieces like the 50A autoformer, so I am very pleased so far.

Will keep using Hughes Autoformers
Had the Hughes Autoformer 30a for my travel trailer & was very happy with it. We upgraded to a park model with 50a service, so I got this one. So far so good. The 50a came with a bag to cover it in the weather, but it doesn't fit too well while the unit is being used.
