Powerful! Great fan!

This thing is super powerful, it's also whisper-quiet. The cons: -Installation was a challenge because the braces only come out in 3 places. It's a heavy fan, so bracing it on 3 points isn't enough. Also, my previous attic fan was against the joist so when I butted the fan up against the joist it pushed the back end of the brace to overlap the duct opening (figuring this out only once I was in the attic holding the dangling fan, I crudely bent the brace to clear the duct outlet). Then on the opposite side of the fan, the braces weren't long enough to reach the other joist so I had to add blocking, and it wasn't sturdy enough to keep it in place so I had to secure it from below. There were no other attachment options from within the attic forcing me to drill up from the underside into the drywall ceiling and wood boards that I added to the sides. On the underside of the fan (the side that points into the bathroom), the holes to drill it up into the ceiling are only on 3 sides of the unit. Again, not ideal to keep it secure. If I was installing this professionally for someone else and wanted it to look perfect, I wouldn't choose this fan because it requires a lot more blocking and bracing and slows down installation and makes it look less professional. -The status light is pretty bright in a dark bathroom. It looked like my toilet was being beamed up by a UFO in the middle of the night. I covered the light with tape. -In retrospect, I would have bought a fan that has adjustable humidity levels that turn it on. The 60% humidity level that turns it on and the high power of the fan empties out all heat and humidity and in the winter makes the bathroom pretty cold during the shower (something that, in retrospect, I don't like). PROS: -This thing is powerful. It kicks on automatically (if in that mode) exactly as described. I like that it's also manual if desired. (After one shower with it running automatically, I decided I'd use it manually from now on because it takes ALL of the warm air out of the room quickly - I guess I don't like showering in a cold room after all) -Seriously super quiet. -This is sturdy and well-packaged. Amazon shipped it in the original packaging and it was secure and arrived without damage. Giving it 5 stars because for some, this is a great fan. For me, it's ok. But not the fault of the manufacturer or seller so I think it deserves 5 stars.

Louder than expected

Great fan

This fan is excellent at doing its job. It’s powerful and quiet! We had a bathroom without a fan, and the moisture was starting to cause some problems with the trim paint. I put this in, wired the new switch to the wall, and it keeps the moisture from building up at all. In fact, I’d like to replace my other fan in the house with this one. My only criticism is in the design of the motor housing as it affects the installation. Instructions (summarized): Find location close to outside wall or with a short path to the roof, depending on whether you want roof or wall venting. Pick spot in ceiling close to the source of moisture (shower). Ideally, mount fan such that it can have one edge attach directly to ceiling joist. Cut hole. Remove duct attachment piece on fan to fit the fan through the square hole in the ceiling. Put fan up through hole, attach to joist with screws, go up in attic to attach to other joist with bracket. Reattach duct piece (this is where the design can be improved). The orientation is such that the joist blocks access to replace one of the two screws. Fortunately I can still replace the top one because it sits high enough, above the joist, but not the botttom one. I think it's secure enough with the one screw, but this was something that was either not covered in the instructions, or it was there and I missed it. Overall, solid, solid fan. I just had this one hiccup during installation.

Good one!

Takes the moist out in the shower very quickly. The only disappointment is that it's louder than expected. I can hear it from the bedroom even if the door is closed. It's not a big deal though. Overall I am happy it does the job right!

Installation nightmare

Upon receiving I noticed a broken piece of black plastic fell out of housing. After further review it realized 1 of the mounts where broken. I used a JB Weld "plastic bond" to repair the damage. After repairs I was challenged with the install. My joists are 24" OC and It was a fight all the way to the end trying to install this unit. Even trying to replace the electrical cover after making the connections had proven to be a challenge simply because it is such a tight fit that it would seem the manufacturer didnt allow for additional room for wiring. I feel this unit is better suited for "NEW CONSTRUCTION" installs only. Nonetheless once install was complete it does run smooth and quiet. So even thou it proved to be a challenge, I am happy with the finished results.

Works great

Love that this unit has an automatic setting to account for my lazy boys who close the bathroom window, steam up the room and then forget to re-open the window. It's been 2 weeks, so far so good. My room is small, so there is still steam on my mirror but it clears up fairly quickly and my walls aren't moist anymore.

My bathroom has never been this dry!

This fan works so well to remove the moisture during a shower! We have an extremely damp bathroom that had a fan and dehumidifier. We also had to open the window each time we showered. Walls and ceiling would drip with water and mold would appear quickly in shower and on curtain liner. This fan leaves our walls completely dry and the mirror hardly even fogs up. It is extremely quiet, but that wasn’t a priority. Definitely one of my best purchases to date! Glad I bought 2 so I’d have one in my other bathroom!

Does the Job !

Lots of suction, I put a sheet of paper over it to test it out and it didn't disappoint! Also, it's not loud at all. Love it!
