Good for the handyman about town
Banjo works well but a bit small so constantly refilling which is messy. Light weight, fits in the hand well and easy to clean up when finished good for small jobs.

Worth the money even for amateurs
This thing worked very slick--applied just the right amount of mud to stick the tape, without having it glopping everywhere. I was not coordinated enough to both hold the banjo and keep the tape in place, so I had someone help be keep the end of the tape in place while I pulled it out. I would say it was an easy 50% time savings over my old method of mudding up the wall, bedding the tape, then scraping off excess. It was faster, cleaner, and I think did a better job. I should have bought one ages ago, even though I am just a DIYer who redoes the occasional house.

As a professional remodeler, I have to do a lot of drywall finishing. This tool saves an enormous amount of time over hand taping. It’s paid for itself repeatedly.

Stay away
Don't waste your money. Had several issues with tape feeding properly and by the time I finished using it on the second day it broke.

Broke 1st time I used it
I bought this for my son. It broke the first time he used it. This is worthless! Do not buy it!

and it will last just fine. READ ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS
I have used just about every banjo made in the last twenty years. This is NOT professional quality, but it doesn't cost a anywhere close to what a pro-quality one does either! Use this in a home owner application, and understand it's made of plastic, and it will last you the rest of your life. Remember-CLEAN UP ALL YOUR TOOLS COMPLETELY when you are done each day, and it will last just fine. READ ALL THE INSTRUCTIONS, and you will be fine. Take this to a job site, or try and "become a pro-drywall finisher, and it will be junk by the end of the day. Anyone who scoops mud straight out of the bucket without properly loosening it with water, will break this thing the first time they use it. These people have no business attempting home remodeling. This is a perfect unit for those who are rebuilding a house one room at a time- while living there. If you fancy yourself a house flipper- spend $300 and buy a REAL banjo.
