Exact fit

Expensive piece of plastic

A for able to find the generic handle I recommend that over the Hayward. Truly, it is probably the most expensive piece of plastic I've ever paid for. Also, removing the hinge pin was extraordinarily difficult. Do yourself a favor and leave part of the pin exposed so if you need to you can pull it out with a pair of pliers. Otherwise it will be flush with the plastic and you will need to push it out with a small screwdriver which is, needless to say, aggravating.

Perfect replacement for a handle that had broken

I have an old hayward DE filter and when I was "bumping" it a week ago, the handle snapped. This new handle was the perfect replacement for the broken one and installed in only a few minutes.

Perfect replacement

Proper replace.ent and easy to install....problem was that this is the second one I purchased as the first one broke after less than 1 season of use.

Easy to install, came with all hardware

Took about 10 minutes to install and half of that was finding a nail to pop out the existing pin. I saw other reviews saying it did not come with the hardware. Mine did. It had a new screw for connection to the rod and a new pin. Made of the same plastic though so I imagine this one is just as likely to break.

perfect part

It has been a steep learning curve for us when it comes to caring for the pool that came with the house we bought 2 years ago. The handle on the filter had broken off which made it difficult to "bump." I don't think Hayward goes out of their way to provide product information. I saw a pump handle for what seemed a reasonable price on Amazon and emailed the vendor with what I thought was our model number(again Hayward doesn't make it easy). The vendor wrote me right back telling me what I needed, I ordered it and it came in a few days. It fit perfectly. The worst part of the experience (aside from bumping the filter for 2 years with a broken handle) was removing the "pin" that holds the handle in place. I was disappointed that the new handle also came with a pin rather than a bolt and nut.
