Almost Perfect!!!

I got these for some ancient doors where I live that had nothing in the holes. As for MY doors, the Cone part Mushrooms when I try to press them in, so to make them actually work I file down the top of the cone. This way they go in fine with a push from a phillips head screwdriver and the small edge that's left keeps them from slipping out. This way they work perfect for MY doors. YMMV!!! P,.S. I tried oil to lube, it didn't work . I tried cutting a little on top of the cone, hoping it would catch like a screw. Didn't work. Full pressure with a phillips head just pops right through.

Excellent silencers

We just moved into a new office space and none of the doors had the silencers installed. These were a perfect fit. I only wish they came with some sort of tool or quick tip to explain how to install them. I cleaned out the paint from the holes with a philips screwdriver and then used a flat blade screw driver to push them in around the edges. Once I got the hang of it, I was able to go around the office fairly quickly and install them all.

Bought these to replace the long missing bumpers in my classroom door frame. No more loud bang. Had enough to give some to everyone in my hallway.

Right size for my doors

This is perfect for my 1990 vintage metal door frames. They are a bit bigger than ones Home Depot sells that fell out of the hole. Install with a small Allen Wrench inserted in the hole after cutting the old one off.

Works great for most doors.

I used these to replace some existing door silencers that were damaged and rotting away. On most doors, they worked well and fit nicely. A couple of them (keep in mind these were very old door frames) I had to modify the backside of them to a smaller diameter to get them to pop in the door frame. Trying using some soap to help lube them up and pop them in.

Awesome!! Bought these to replace worn ones on our doors at church. DO NOT use those special wire type installation tool that inserts into the tiny hole you see on top of the cone. They will only punch a hole through your silencer. Instead use a small pocket size flat blade screw driver to gently nudge the cone in as you move the crew driver around the cone. IMPORTANT - rub a small amount of petroleum jelly on the face of the cone before you insert it into a 1/4" to 17/64" hole. 17/64" hole makes the job a lot easier and holds the silencer equally as well; if not better, in my opinion.
