Questionable "upgrade" from Roadtrip XLE

This is my 3rd Roadtrip grill purchase and likely my last. The other two with heavy use wore out. I had the swap top griddle plates and thought this would be a logical upgrade and continued use of the plates. WRONG. Unfortunately, this grill is not the same quality and I'll be surprised if it lasts as long as the other. Honestly, I wish I would have explored other portable grills and found some other use for the cast iron grates and griddle. I would return it had I not used it and I will not recommend it as I did prior versions of the Roadtrip. Issues: *Not the easiest or hardest to assemble. *Latch on the lid is flimsy. The plastic tab on it falls off and I'm certain will be lost soon. The latch will not shut if grates are on the grill. Sure. I can Gorilla glue the plastic back on the lever but should I have to? *The latch issue will affect the ease of portability. *Does not have removable grease tray like prior models. *Location of the propane intake is inconvenient at best and is noted in other reviews. *Does seem to hold heat and cook evenly in limited use.

Works fine but wish it didn’t have a regulator installed

Works ok,but wish the regulator was not part of the device as there is already a regulator in my travel trailer’s propane supply so it only heats to 275 or so. Works just fine with a separate propane supply that is not regylated

I bought it because it is compact, easy to store and has three burners. First use was for a large family gathering and cooked burgers and chicken. Worked like the manufacturer said it would. I have always had good experience with Coleman products. The tray is easy to clean. I am looking forward to using it again

This is perfect for camping and perfect if you live in a condo or townhome and want a small grill. Love it!

I really like mine

I have used it for 2 seasons and it performs very well. 1) I like the water trough for preventing grease fires 2) I like the built-in temperature gauge so I know exactly when it is ready 3) I like the portability for off-site use. Even the lid will lockdown with a lever. 4) I like the grill insert for eggs/pancakes/fish etc. (extra cost) 5) I like the feature to adjust 3 different flames 6) I like the 2 slide-out trays 7) I like the price ** I will only complain about the use of a small propane bottle. I think they only last me two sessions. I need to invest in a large propane canister like the larger units use, but then the portability... Walmart seems to have the best deal on the small bottles. Oh, I also don't like cleaning these things, but this is easier than some as it has the water trough that catches most of the mess.

Nice wile it lasts

We’ve had this grill for 3 years and loved it. It fit well in our 34’ motor home, we liked it so much that we used it at home also. The problem is that the burner assembly rusted through and became unusable. And it’s impossible to replace, of all the grills Coleman makes this is the only one that finding replacement parts is impossible. After spending $300 and buying accessories that are now useless I will never buy again.
