Works better than I expected
I bought this because I was tired of dealing with the whole extension cord/electric blower thing. For a grand total of $64 all in (at the time,) I thought it was a worthwhile experiment. It doesn't blast as hard as my dedicated electric but it's close & it's good enough for my fairly simple needs. I attach it to a Husqvarna 2 stroke weed eater. Its surprisingly loud in my opinion. With it's noise added to the gas trimmer noise, I'd guess that the neighbors aren't overly fond of it. It's fairly light, so it handles better than it's appearance would suggest. Because it's rather light (and cheap) I also wonder about it's longevity.

It's not your grandpa's tiller...
Wait a second... I'm a grandpa now, so - my grandpa's old tiller was a completely different animal. Once upon a time... I'm just kidding - this isn't a fairy tale! This is a true story... but it was a long time ago. My first taste of gardening was helping my grandpa till up his garden. In hindsight, it may have a lot more to do with the fact that I was like 80lbs and 10 years old (and it was the early 80's so it was fine back then) - but my grandpa's till seemed like a monster. It was loud, it was mean - I kinda felt abused. I should probably seek counselling - but that's an entirely different story. All of that said - this is not that. This - I use on my greenworks weed eater... which that whole system is pretty awesome - my grandpa would probably have been a lot less cranky if he had electric garden tools. So, it hooks up to the weed eater - just like the edger and my other attachments and it works great. Now, it is still just what it is (and that is one of the lames statements ever made about anything - but that is that) - it is a small tiller. You're not going to want to use this to turn a corn field... be reasonable. It's for small gardens. When you temper your expectations - it's pretty stinkin' great. Give is a minute to grab and turn... and be ready to make a few passes on fresh dirt - but it will easily dig 6-7 inches in no time. I tilled up about 120 sq ft in a couple hours and made like 3 passes. Then got some garden soil and tilled that in too... and would have been done in a morning if I hadn't blown a few hours at the local garden center. ... now if I could just get my wife to grow anything, it'll all be worth it.

Easy to attach and is a balanced unit once it is attached
It is easy to attach and detach. It is a balanced unit once it's attached. I like the fact that it simply attaches to the end of the unit you're already using to trim the lawn with, it doesn't require its own engine. Once it's attached, it's very maneuverable and you can control the speed of the blower. I believe it to be a good value, because you don't have to buy another blower unit, be it electric or gas, which is just another tool to keep up. Another plus is, it requires little to no maintenance, maybe some grease on the connection points to aid with the attaching of the unit.

Very impressed!
I had been using a combination of the Greenworks 40v single-string weeder/edger combo and a Black & Decker electric corded edger to poor effect. The weeder auto-feed mechanism simply never worked from day one, so about every 20-30 feet of weeding I had to turn it off, flip it over, and manually pull out some more string. Edging was nearly impossible with that device because the concrete would eat the string up so quickly I would have to manually pull it out every few feet, so I bought the B&D corded edger. It also was only ok. Even at max depth for the blade I never got a good, clean, deep edge. So I bought the new dual-string Greenworks weed whacker and this attachment hoping for any sort of improvement, and after two edges I am extremely impressed. The first time I used it I could tell it was far superior--a good amount of dirt was flung up from where my previous efforts couldn't reach. The device stalled a couple of times (the dirt was also rather muddy due to recent rain) but otherwise it worked rather well. A week later I had ZERO issues edging--it sliced right through everything quickly and I have the best looking edged grass on the street now. Set up was easy and intuitive--literally click the new attachment on and go to work. Very pleased with this purchase and love not having to fuss with cords. EDIT 9/10/2020: Just want to add that I've tried several different replacement blades with this, and the Greenworks 7.5-Inch Replacement Lawn Edger 29182 works best if you can find it for $12 or less. The only problem is it does lose its "edge" fairly quickly, lasting only one season for me. So I tried a beefier Stens 375-525 Star Edger Blade, 8" L x 1" CH which was also cheaper, but this blade is a bit too heavy for this attachment. Edging stalls frequently. Not changing my review score as this is still a super convenient and effective way to edge when using the right blade. The Stens blade is not recommended for this.

good addition to my trimmer attachment selections..
Fit good and works well, easier to use than the horizontal unit that I had.

Its all about convenience...
I had an edger that was electric powered and that did the job of edging my driveway. I only considered this cordless as a replacement because fooling around with an extension cord is a bit of a pain. I've become a fan of the 40 volt Green works tools and decided it would be worth the price to get this attachment even if its just to avoid extension cords. Now that I have it, I can honestly say that I was right! Being able to pull this thing out and just go right to work is what it's all about. Convenience is the key! My yard and driveway are looking better than ever... not because I couldn't get it done before, but rather because its so convenient to just grab the tool and go to work! It's all about convenience! The handier the tool, the more likely you'll be to use it. At least that's been my experience. As for functionality, it's straightforward in the way it attaches... adjustment is easy, etc. Its a pretty basic tool and it does a nice job. I should also point out (if you don't already know), this is just an attachment... so you'll also need another tool to attach to. In my case. I bought a 14 inch line trimmer (also a nice unit).

Poor performance
The head fit the shaft from my GW 40v weed eater. Powers up, blade spins. BUT there is NO torque so it constantly stalls when edging over grown grass. I used 5000rmp option for better performance. This may be better for the 60v or 80v trimmer. As for the 40v unit. Dont bother.

Power head may be underpowered to operate this attachment.
I really like the idea that you can run several yard tools with one power head. The string trimmer works great but when I changed to the edge trimmer it seemed to be underpowered, in fact the power head started smoking at one point. I had to let the unit run without the edger engaged to let the power head cool down (I fear this may reduce the life of the power head). Perhaps with regular trimming it won’t be working as hard as this was the first pass. I am definitely a believer in the GreenWorks 80v products as I now have the lawn mower, chain saw, string trimmer and lawn edger and I just ordered a leaf blower.

Great value and does what I needed.
This trimmer is longer than an alternative I was considering and pairs up perfectly with the Ryobi Expand-It system. I was also able to use the 4' extension that comes with my pole saw attachment to get extra reach. I won't claim that I can cut a nice straight line like the pros but no tool in the world would fix that. Great product, would buy again!

This thing is very heavy
The trimmer works perfectly but it’s so heavy that I had to take rest breaks every 5 minutes. It took forever to trim my hedge. It’s much easier to use my old cheap electric trimmer and a ladder.
