does it work
I was pleasantly surprised at how easily it wound up the used cord . the basket held the 150 ft. only thing I would change is that when finished with the cord the unit would swivel flat against the wall. best cord holder I have had.

Easy to use and fast cord wind up....
You can neatly wind a 100 foot cord in 15 seconds or less and pull it out just as fast. Great product, I buy them for gifts allthe time. Buy one, you will love it.... Note ; I perfer the swivel mount apposed to the ridged mount. It comes with both mounts.

Works as intended, worth it
Holds the extension cord, wraps it up in a nice coil in the string basket. The winding part could use a little better grip when pulling in / winding up the cord, so you have to use a little force with your hand on the level while winding it up, but is way better, quicker, and easier than hand rolling a cord.

Easy to use
My last one of these lasted 10 years arranged to the outside wall of my house exposed to rain and sun. Have a 100 ft of 14 gauge extension in it. Makes keeping the extension easy to use and put away when you’re done simple. If it were inside I’m sure it probably would last 20 years. Love the way this works.

As reviewed and advertised, kinda hard to roll tho
Like many tools, they are mostly reviewed by men who have stronger hands than this 68 yr old with some arthritis in hands and wrists. Now I'm practically Amazonian in the things I do compared to some similar age friends, but reviews by men don't point out some features that may be hard for others. This "tool" is a good gadget for the money. Easy to assemble and mount. Practical. I thought I'd try this vs the spring loaded ones after reading how the springs tend to break on the less expensive models. On this, To roll the extension cord you press this paddle feature to press the cord to a rubberized roller to grip it so the cord rolls in. At first I thought I'd assembled it wrong, but I just had to press the paddle a lot harder than I thought. Makes my wrist hurt. Also means it's a two handed job. So I took off a star though that might not be quite fair.

Amazing idea, a little flimsy product
I was very skeptical at first if this cord winder works at all. After a year of use I must say it does work very good actually. It is not recommended for commercial use, but at a home shop, garage, hangar etc. it is perfect. I am not sure how long it will last, but it is working just fine for a year now when I have been once or twice a week operating it. I am just about to order a second one of this for my new garage, so it is wort buying. Make sure that you unroll and straighten the entire cord at first, then it winds it up just amazingly. If the cord is twisted when winding it up, it gets winded up uneven and you will get frustrated. If you do it right the entire cord will wind up nicely along the basket's wall, making sure that even a long cord fits into it. Getting the cord wind up nicely is more important for when you pull the cord out for use. It will come out of the basket very smooth, easily and straight.

Good storage device for ext. cords
Wish it had larger capacity but works well in the garage.

This is not as sturdily built as I assumed.
I purchased this winder to assist in the winding of my outdoor extension in a convenient manner. I have found that it is not as sturdy as one from the nineties.

Warehouse deal
Was a good price and was what I didn't know I needed, was missing a part but was able to rigg it up regardless

Same as the old one we’ve had installed for 15 years.
I was worried to see two seemingly identical products for quite different prices but figured we’d try the $20 and if it didn’t work we’d upgrade. Well it appears identical other than color to the ones we’ve had installed for the last 15 years. It came with both the solid and swivel mount, we were able to install in seconds on the existing mount. Our cord did tangle a bit on the first reel but that appears a result of poor storage while we were waiting for it to arrive. A kinked cord will kink as you reel. It handles our standard-to-slightly-heavy gauge cords fine, eventually our cords have developed a wave but never cut through or been a big problem. We do add chafe tape to the lip as our old units were prone to having the cord wear grooves in the lip that grow sharp. You can be confident with this product.
