The handle "SWIVELS", y'all.....!!!

Omg, must've taken my "stupid" pill that day?.....because I literally broke the handle off. Pressed the little button and tried to bend the handle straight down. Took a bit of "elbow grease" but, I finally succeeded....tiny bits of plastic and metal spring went flying,LOL!!! Meanwhile, the husband sitting over here just laughing.....anyway, threw it away and IMMEDIATELY ordered another one because YES!, this is the best grater ever!! I use a lot of parmesan cheese on everything.....been searching a long time for a good grater. Been buying the pre-grated stuff in containers but, they get moldy too fast. I wanted to start buying the hard blocks because I think they keep longer? This grater IS very sharp(as someone mentioned)....I have a steel mesh glove so, I don't scrape my knuckles. Also, don't know about the plastic cover being used as a measuring device?.....I don't measure anything, just eyeballing. As for being hard to clean?.....everything is hard to clean!!....rinse it off immediately, use a soft toothbrush to get all the bits off then, put it away. Is most excellent for citrus "zesting", too.....previously used the dried stuff but, fresh rinds are SO much better. Been trying to stop buying useless kitchen gadgets but, this grater is a winner(threw all my other ones away). Yes, buy it!!! And, remember to "TWIST/SWIVEL" the handle, in order to prop it up,LOL!!.....(the little button will lock in place & it works perfectly......can place over a plate,cutting board, whatever......grate whatever you need and scatter accordingly). not for me

This was highly rated, but I find it to be nothing special. It is versatile, with two grater sizes, but kind of awkward to manipulate. The twist handle didn't do anything for me, either. Obviously, others like it a lot, so you pay your money, you take your chances. It totally does the job, but I've got other graters that feel safer and more ergonomic to me.

Throw all of your other graters away...

... because this one is better made, easier to use and more versatile than any other I've ever seen. It has two grating surfaces, one I'd call medium and one coarse, to meet most of your needs. The grating surfaces are of "micro-plane" design... VERY sharp and fast-cutting. This grater is supplied with a plastic shield that covers the cutting surfaces of the blade when it's not in use and serves as a "bin" to catch the grated material while you're actually grating. The handle can be used in-line as is usually the case or it can be rotated 90 degrees such that the grater can be used on angle and supported on two ends... for those really tough or gruelingly tiresome grating occasions. It's a little hard to clean... but what grater isn't? None of my other graters have seen daylight since I purchased this thing. Great kitchen tool!

Works great

Very sharp. I shredded my finger the first time. I like the cover, it doubles as a measuring cup. Holds no more than a cup of cheese. Stores flat in a drawer nicely.

Excellent

I never knew how much my graters needed a cover. Makes me feel better about the whole experience. Both sides of the tool work very well, although I have not yet needed to use the hinged handle, the straight configuration works great.

Love this grater. It’s easy to use, easy to clean, and SHARP. The cover does not hold much cheese/grated product, but the grater quality more than makes up for it.

Best grater ever!

Best grater I've ever had; very thoughtful design! The cover doubles as a catcher, and it has cup measure marks so you know how much you've grated. Works great, nice & sharp and has the 2 most used sizes. I have MS and my hands are lousy sometimes, and the fold around handle is a huge help. Seems pretty sturdy too. I've already gifted one because I like it so much!

Good grating and easy to clean

My wife had requested a smaller grater than the standard four side ones that she could use at the table. So I set on my search. Having other Joseph and Joseph products I decided to see what they had available and this was the first to pop up. It looked to match what she was looking for and the ability the bend the handle appealed. As always arrived in good time and no issue with the quality of the product. It was tried out that evening with pasta and we definitely think the grate of cheese from this was preferable to our standard one. Overall happy with the purchase and would buy again.

Very dangerous to use

Pro - The coverfor this item is one of the safest I've seen and used. Con - Danger zone. It constantly folds on it's axis when in use and does not stay locked in position when grating something. Very dangerous to use as you will end-up loosing parts of your fingers using this item. I stongly **do not** recommend this to anyone. Take it from me , I'm a retired chef. Buy this grater, ZYLISS SmoothGlide Dual Grater, instead.
