Review for Globe Electric 60417 Three light fixture

I installed two of these fixtures last weekend in a rental that I'm remodeling. The items were very well-packaged. The glass cylinder was protected by at least 3" of styrofoam on all sides. The installation process was straight-forward and only took a few minute per light. There's no insulation between the fixture and the wiring box, which means that it's easier to guide the screws into place without crap falling in your eyes (maybe not great if you're installing them on a poorly insulated top-floor ceiling). As for color they're all flat black. The only 'bronze' on the fixture is the screws. Overall these look great. I'm very pleased. I was looking for easy-install/low maintenance fixtures since these were installed in a rental. I also wanted light fixtures that would allow for easy changing of bulbs. I like that these fixtures won't collect dead bugs or get dusty. The lights look contemporary but not too modern...meaning I don't think the fixture will look dated anytime soon. I'm going to buy about a half dozen more to finish the project. Also, I think that the bad reviews for this product are actually targeted at the other lights on this page (weird that they've set up their Amazon page that way). I can't imagine how the glass would fall out of the 3-light fixture that I installed, unless it was installed incorrectly. The screws go all the way through a pre-drilled hole in the glass and it's pretty easy to see if the glass is properly hung. However I did handle the glass with extreme care while I installed it. Anyway, glad I found these, they seem like a pretty good value, and perfect for a rental unit.

Love the look. Not very ambient even with 60 watt bulbs.

Beautiful light fixture. Good value for the money. Not much ambient light due to side bands around fixture, something I did not consider when ordering. Most light comes from under the light through frosted glass. Even with 60watt bulbs it is a dull light in the 12 x 12 bedroom it was installed in. If you aren't looking for a light to read by or replace daylight intensity this is a great light for the money. Easy to install.

Works fine but you must be careful.

A lot of other reviews said the glass shattered during installation. I was prepared for a problem but everything went fine. If you over tighten the final nut that holds the glass in place, I'm sure the glass would break, so you must be careful not to do that. Now that it is installed, I'm not loving the way it looks, though. Probably will end up replacing it.

Shines bright like a diamond! ????

Pictures give this beauty no justice, what so ever!! It is absolutely gorgeous! I took the advice on reviews and bought the edison clean bulbs for it. SO glad I did. So go ahead a buy the edison clean bulbs, you wont regret it! Its not the easiest to install, you just need patience with it. And you will also have to wipe all your figure prints off of it once it's installed. Then after that, the light will shine bright like a diamond! ???? I recommend this light %1000. Worth every penny! ???????? Thank you to the seller!

VERY NICE AND MODERN LOOKING

Decided to replace our ceiling fans in kitchen and dining room with something more modern looking and I wanted something very easy to replace bulbs in because I am getting older and taking apart a light is hard to do. These are nice and open bottomed so easy to replace bulbs. The light was easy to install. The first one we put the metal frame up then set the glass inside. This created a ton of finger prints and its very hard to get the glass nice and clean and shiny when its installed so the second one for the dining room we installed the glass and metal as one unit which helped keep prints off. The plain LED bulbs that look like a regular bulb aren't as fancy as the bulbs used in the sellers picture with the gold centers so that does take away from the black and gold vision but I like the lights a lot. Mine were the black even tho my pic looks gold framed

Really nice light!

I looked and looked and checked reviews and finally settled on this one. It was easy to install - no issues at all. Is very bright with the 3 recommended 60w bulbs. If you want bright - it is otherwise put the 40's in. Be careful when unpacking due to the glass but it is lovely.

Looks high quality!

Easy to install, looks great! Like that the opening is at the bottom as opposed to some that are at the top, that way dust doesn't sit at the bottom of the bowl. Looks expensive but bought for a reasonable price!
