Clean air once more

The filters help extend the life of the air purifier. The benefit is cleaner, air to breathe. It helps absorb tiny particles in the air that cause allergies.

Germ Guardian charcoal filters

These carbon activated prefilters extend the life of my main filter. They do a great job.

Perfect for my basement bedroom

Does its job well, I notice a difference in air quality almost immediately after turning it on in my basement bed room. I keep on the 3 setting and only use the highest if I need to clean the room quickly. I'm not huge on having fan noises while I sleep, I've grown used to it but don't need it. The 3 setting isn't loud at all and doesn't bother me the way my exes annoyingly loud fan would. Buy replacement filters on here and vacuum the charcoal filter once a month to maintain. I replaced the charcoal when I replaced the Hepa. I think the light to replace the Hepa auto activates with time. I probably could of waited another couple months to switch, it didn't appear dirty.

Works well despite perceived thinness

My first reaction was the same as others complaining these carbon filters seemed thinner than the original one that arrived with the product. However after a month of using one of these and checking on it, it actually did a great job of blocking dust and hair from getting to the main filter

Dust-Free Living.

The filter for the germ guardian Does an amazing job. And it is so easy to replace, I did not dust the top shelf on my office desk for 4 weeks because there was virtually NO dust on it for 4 weeks. I LOVE this air cleaner! I only have one unit which I use in my office, It only works in one room at a time. I have allergies and a cat. GermGUARDIAN helped to modify my sneezing and wet nose. In fact I recommended it to a close friend who also has allergies and asthma. I haven't heard from her so I don't know if she ordered the machine.

Not genuine

The media could not be loaded. These are not genuine germ guardian filters. They came rolled up in and thin plastic bag with no box or true germ guardian markings. It looks like the label stuck to it was printed out on a printer. Seller refuses to issue an immediate refund and claims these are genuine but I have also contacted germ guardian technologies to report that I have not received a genuine product. I have looked at other reviews here and one actually shows the genuine product received and many have had the same issue with these cheap filters received and not matching up to genuine original products as well. I have gone directly to Amazon with this complaint/issue and I trust that they will rectify it. I have no problem returning this item but I need a refund to be able to purchase what I need and cannot wait any longer to have what I need for my germ guardian as my dog and I are dealing with toxic black mould in our home that I need my air purifier for.

Disappointing!

I'm very disappointed with this item. Just by look and feel, these filters are obviously different than the original carbon filter that is included with the Germ Guardian AC5000E. These filters are approximately half the thickness of the original and visually, they look less porous. They also do not feature the velcro fastener strips of the original. Due to the lower quality appearance and missing features, it is very difficult to say if these carbon filters really are genuine. This is my first time changing the carbon filter so I am unsure as to how well these will work but I will update this review as needed.

Looks the same as the one came with machine

In terms of specifications comparing to the original, it looks almost identical (pls ignore the dust on the old one). Function wise I don't think it helps with the smell /voc at all. More just a added layer of dust filter to me.

Exactly Like the Originals That Came With the Machine.

I have ordered these on more than one occasion. These ones are the genuine originals that came with the machine. When compared to a different brand of the same size, these original ones are much thinner than the other brand(Filter buy). The "off brand" that I just mentioned are twice as dense, ensuring that the super expensive HEPA filter doesn't get clogged up before its time. The "off brand" ones are not so thick that the machine's fan has to over work. Choose what you will.

Easy to install, velcro installation. Works ok, not sure if it is as thick and dense as the original filter that came with unit. The cutting doesn't seem to be as straight and clean as the old filter that I removed that came with the original machine. Won't know if it traps as much dust and lasts as long as original filter unless I am able to provide an update in 6 months. The original filter seems to be able to be washed and re-usable but I didn't try.
