6-ply diaper resembles older version of diaper.
These 6-ply diapers were exactly what I needed to make burp cloths. I also added pretty flannel to one side. They resemble the original diapers from the past. The 3-ply birdseye diapers were way too thin so I returned the 3-ply and bought these.

Not the same quality as past pkgs.
I have purchased these several times for burp cloths. Always pleased. The last package was inferior. The ends were not finished end to end and frayed after washing. I have had to zig zag all ten diaper ends in order to stop the fraying. Hope this is a one off.

Bought for cleaning
Remember when old diapers were the best cleaning rags (if you are over 50 - you might)? Well, ours are about shot after 30+ years in service. They are the very best for washing windows. So, I decided that I could just get new ones. These seemed to be the closest to what we had. Unfortunately, they are almost not absorptive. They push the water around rather than sucking it up and I washed them all prior to use to remove any sizing that might be in the material. Maybe on a babies hinder they work better and I have not given up. I figure eventually they will have to breakdown enough.

Oddly shaped for diapers
These would be great diapers but they're really oddly shaped. They're super long and super narrow. They don't fit around my baby's waist, and he's very average sized... not particularly chunky or anything. I can only use them as trifold inserts... but they're really too long for that too. They end up quite bulky because I have to do an extra fold. For that reason, they're OK for overnight because then the bulkiness isn't such a bother for my baby... so yeah, it's a matter of trying to make them work so they're not just a waste of money. Not something I'll buy more of, for sure.

Dirty and stained
Not sure why, but these were dirty and had rust stains on them. Purchased for embroidery as burp cloths. I washed them in bleach and the rust stains remained. I guess they will now be dust rags.

101 uses
Haven't used for diapering, but found a ton of other uses! We bought 2 packs initially, but went back for another pack after having our daughter for about a month. Some highlights of the many uses: 1. We mainly use these as burp cloths. They are super absorbent and her larger messes don't get through like they would with towels and other cloths. They are also larger than your average burp cloth...super helpful because the spit up is not usually well contained! 2. We keep a few in the diaper bag and use these when changing her in areas outside of the changing table. Great to put under her head to catch any spit up that occurs during a change. Can also place under her diaper to catch anything the happens during the change. 3. I tuck on of these into my bra when nursing to effectively line the area under her- catches any overflow or accidental spit ups that occur when eating. This has saved quite a few shirts... and probably pants too when there's a big spit up. 4. This sounds strange but it works - line my nighttime nursing bra with one of these folded lengthwise. Way better than nursing pads since the bras shift during the night and pads aren't alway positioned to catch the milk. This covers me from side to side and top to bottom and with the double layer, nothing gets through to my shirt or sheets! This is the list after 8 weeks. It's not 101 yet, but you get the idea. Worthwhile purchase.

Love these
We don't use them as diapers -- we were given some as a gift, and loved them so much we ordered another set. These are fantastic, all-purpose cloths. We always leave one on the change table to keep the surface clean. They are also great as burp cloths. They do change their size and softness quite substantially once they've been in the wash a few times, but it's not really a drawback for what we use them for. They wash up beautifully with some baby Oxyclean powder.
