Functional
I've cut many pocket holes with this. I like the depth gage for various thickness of materials. The only gripe I have is you must use a clamp. Theirs is flimsy.

Works well
Bought this when I could not find the one I bought earlier. I had extensive experience with a major brand pocket screw setup. When I moved I sold that. Found a use for it after I got here, so I bought 2 more (one I misplaced). I like this one better than the first I used, but it does not seem as rugged as I would like.

Very limited functionality, sparse instructions and misleading product info.
With Kreg jigs tending to be more expensive, I have a feeling this product is a common choice for folks who, like me, aren't yet familiar with pocket hole joinery, and maybe just have one project in mind to try it out with. Once I received the jig, read the very limited instructions and started planning my joints and figuring out how I'd set the jig up to drill the holes, I very quickly realized this wasn't the best choice of jigs. Being able to clamp and drill anything from 1/2" up to 1.5" sounds great and flexible in application, but the fact that there's no actual adjustment of the placement of the holes or changes to the angle because of different board thicknesses means that flexibility is meaningless. With a static jig like this, there will basically be one thickness of wood that the holes end up coming out the edge at the correct point. All other thicknesses will be off the mark. The limited instructions show pictures of angled joint holes that honestly don't even make sense how they would have drilled them. The product video shows similar, though not quite so improbable angle joints, but again, they just show the board already drilled and never show drilling holes for an angled joint. Basically, they border on false advertising, and overall I feel like they are taking advantage of buyers who don't yet know enough about pocket joinery to know this jig is very limited in the applications it will work well for. It might seem like you are getting equal value or more than for a slightly higher priced jig from another company, but you are actually getting a lot less due to the lack of adjustment and versatility. I regret the purchase and wish I'd thrown another $10 at a better jig, now I'll be looking at buying a more expensive one after having wasted money on this one already. Yes, it is solidly constructed. It's basically a block of aluminum with some holes in it. Would be hard to break. Yes, it will work for very basic pocket hole joinery and probably works well for common 3/4 inch (1x...) material. But that's about it. Oh, and it's not even gold/brass/whatever color is shown. It's just plain old aluminum. ------- Update After going through a decent sized project with this jig, and shopping around a bit more, I'm adding a 3rd star based on the results I got with it, and the fact that while you can buy a better/adjustable jig for $10 more, you'd also need to buy a face clamp to actually use that jig, so in the end, and upgrade from this would be about double the price. So, for half the price, it's "Okay". The results you can get with this jig using 3/4" material are fine. Just know you'll need to invest more time into getting it set up and doing a lot of test pieces. Between the lack of adjustability of the jig, and the lack of any guidance on adjusting the bit, it takes fiddling to get set up right. I started with the general guideline of setting the bit 1/8" short of having the tip come out the end of the board. This made the holes too shallow, so the screw heads would be visible. Of course, if you set the bit too deep, you'll probably have screw points coming out the outside, which you definitely don't want. So fiddle about until you get that just right and you can get decent results. Also, despite 1 1/4" screws being recommended for joining 3/4" material, whether 1x boards or 3/4" sheet goods, I found that 3/4" plywood, being just shy of actual 3/4" you are likely to get bumps or screw tips coming out, so had to run out and buy a box of 1" screws. All in all, if you just need a jig for one or occasional projects using mostly 3/4" material, this one is fine if you are willing to put some time into getting it set up. If you are going to be using it a lot, it is probably worth investing in a better jig.

Worked great
I used it to build two flower benches out of an old wooden gate. I tried it out first on scraps and it was easy to learn. The screws that came with it were too short so I bought kreg brand screws and was amazed at the strength of two pcs joined together. I sprayed some WD-40 on the bit to help with easing it thru the drilling process. My first time using a pocket hole setup and was handy.

A bit cheesy, but does the job
Being a neophyte woodworker, I don't have any past experience with pocket hole jigs, but was put-off by the price of the Kreg ($99 or so). This one basically does the job, but I have no idea how long it will last. Case in point: 1. When drilling initially, lots of metal chaff came out, indicating that the bit-to-guide tolerances are pretty tight - maybe too much so. 2. Within 5-10 holes, the bit warped, so it's now out of true. Not enough to make it useless, but the bit is pretty clearly not up to the task, and probably won''t last through my current project (I need to drill 100 or so holes, and am less than halfway done so far). Pros: * It's cheap. * It's reasonably durable, aside from the bit. * It seems to get the job done, at least in the near term. * It adapts pretty well to drilling 4x4's or other > 2x4 stock, which I need to do. Cons: * The bit is way too lightweight, and warps. It should have been made from a better grade of steel. I'll have to order another one to ensure I make it through this project. * The jig clamp is really designed for benchtop use - it tends to bend when clamped tightly, in any case. If used sideways, more (clutch) clamps are needed to keep it from moving around. * The jig clamp is also very narrow, making it difficult to do holes in the width of a board (vs. at the ends). I had to come up with a way to prop-up the ends of boards, ensuring they're level. A few more inches' width of the jig probably would have avoided this. * If you're not careful, boards can hang-up on part of the jig, and cause the bit to pierce the end of the board as the board isn't fully seated in the jig. Make sure the board is fully-seated, every time. Finally, more of a "quality of lawyer" problem than a "quality of product" problem is the stupid safety sticker they put on the haft of the bit, which cannot be removed except by using Goof-Off or nail polish remover, ironically creating its own safety issue. Idiots.

Great
Great little jig. Makes connecting two pieces of wood together with a hidden joint simple

Works as advertised
I have used this jig to 2 make about 40 pocket holes in 2x4 pieces, and also 8 holes in 3/4 inch thick wood. I am a fairly novice do-it yourself carpenter, and have never used a pocket jig before. So far, I have not had any problem, and it has certainly met my expectation. The kit did not come with the proper screw sizes for the 2x4, so I ordered them separately. Also, I used a shop-vac to vacuum out the jig between wood pieces, as that makes sure the wood sits flush on the jig.

Great alternative to Kregg
This product was my first experience with pocket hole joinery and I was very impressed. This jig is a great alternative to costlier name-brand yet has the features and versatility needed for trying this technique out for the first time. The jog can be mounted to a workbench, clamped to the workpiece via the included screw clamp or clamped down via a separate C-style clamp. I've used it several times on a variety of pieces and will certainly make extensive use of it. The only shortcomings are the included screw clamp which works fine enough but is slightly on the weaker side (I can see the plastic butterfly handle breaking eventually). The included Robertson drill bit is showing wear after a few dozen screws but is easy enough to replace. Would absolutely recommend as an introduction to pocket hole joinery.

Perfect tool
This tool is really well made, the height adjustment is very accurate, I wish that I had this tool for a long time, but not being a carpenter I had no idea that it existed. Would have come in handy a lot of times in the past when I had to use ugly metal brackets, whereas this is simple and elegant. If you need to do a really good job like on furiniture there are plugs to cover the holes, so nothing is visible when finished. Overall, the quality is good, no burrs or any manufacturing surprises left behind, very happy so far. I used the tool to build an 84" projector screen frame, I did a good job, it is all nice and square, no brackets, just wood and screws.
