They work just fine.

I didn't have any problem with them. I just used 11 packages of these and didn't have a problem. Only issue was one pack was missing one of the main pieces and a few other packs had extra flats. Otherwise, no problem.

Simple to use

Works better than expected. I wanted to put some grommets on the bottom of some outside curtains so that I could attach them at the bottom to a cup hook. Took 5 minutes to do 6 grommet holes.

Ability to add/replace a grommet

The tool to cut the hole did not work well on nylon webbing. Once the hole was cut, the tools to set the grommet worked well.

Slam Dunk!

Grab a hammer (any hammer) and you can install a dozen grommets in 15 min. I added all grommets to my car cover and ran 550 cord through to hold it down. (Wind keeps blowing it off)

Did what it was supposed to do

We used this to make a tie downs on our outdoor pool table as the cover would fly off. It punched the holes perfectly and so far everything has held up very well.

Great for the price

Did a great job inserting a grommet on a bath towel so I could hang it from my golf cart. Makes a professional (or semi pro) type grommet and is super easy to use. Highly recommend.

It is a great outdoor grommet kit

I had a hard time to find the outdoor large grommets. On top of this, the setters are usually very expensive. This grommet kit come with a dozen grommets and the setter. The setter is easy to use and install. Since the grommets are made of brass, I think they withstand outdoor. Good price. I bought a package of the grommets refill.

Nice Grommet kit

These grommets worked out good. They are 2 piece grommets which roll (and not split) when installed. After reading other reviews, I sharpened the hole cutter on my grinder before using it and it worked great, punched holes through 2 layers of heavy duty poly-canvas with no problem. Good price too.

Simple and effective

Tools are simple to use and robust. Used brass grommets to repair decking of a pair of very old snowshoes. Used 1/2" grommets, but will place order for 3/8" and 1/4" versions as well. Small niggle: it would be nice if the cutting side of the punch was made easier to see and also if some form of storage protection of the punch edge was provided.

Simple to use

Good little set for small crafts, I bought it to pur grommets on flags to hang inside my house, works great. One thing I wasn't happy with was the lubricant they use to keep the metal pounder pieces from rusting stained a white cloth brown where I set it down. Could easily use a non coloured oil based product to keep from rusting. Just beware where you set it down when you buy it until you wipe it clean. I guess I will also mention I thought they would be sharper for piercing the material, it worked but took a few heavy pounds with a hammer to get through. As well no instructions, go to YouTube to see how to use it if you are unsure.

giod kit but one grommet was missing out of 12

Although the grommets were good and the tool kit was very handy there was onengrommet missing when the product arrived. was a bit dissapointing as I needed 12 for my project.

Handy kit for general repairs

First, be aware that the product description page describes several different products: the full kit advertised at $33.85, and several smaller kits, as well as refill packages. Make sure you click on and order the item you wish to purchase. This is a complete kit and comes with two hole punches, a hardwood backer block, a 2-sided anvil, a mandrel, and 2 punch heads. It is a good-quality kit from General Tool and is suitable for general repairs by do-it-yourselfers. The hole punches, the mandrel and the punch heads are all made of heavy steel. It comes with six 3/8” grommets and six 1/2” brass grommets. I’ve used this kit to install a half-dozen grommets on the heavy-duty cover of my portable garage. The hole punches easily went through the double layers of 16 mil tarp and the grommets would work well even if I was using them on thicker material. Handy kit to have for general repairs.
