Works great!
I had purchased a kit with this tool included, but misplaced this tool. So, this was a replacement part for my kit. Originally purchased to add grommets to a glider canopy that I made for my sister. Now I will be using it a Memorial Day float for our American Legion. It worked perfectly on cutting the holes for the grommets. It will get plenty of use this year cutting approximately 44 holes for the float.

Bam! You have a hole.
This thing is sharp. I needed holes in a piece of thick, stiff, full-grain leather. I used a cutting mat. One moderate tap with a hammer, and through the leather AND the top layer of the cutting mat it went. So I used a piece of sturdy cardboard as a buffer and this time the puncher went through the leather and through the cardboard and left a mark, but did not cut into, the mat. How long it will last and stay that sharp I don't know, because I really bought it specifically for one project, and haven't used it since.

I needed to cut out round 1/2" typewriter key letters. This made it easy
My old typewriter's keys have paper letters under glass discs. After 90+ years, those paper letters were too dark to read anymore. I found a PDF of replacement letters, but cutting them out with scissors was incredibly tedious. I bought this punch and it made the job super easy - just place the sharp cutter end over the letter and tap the punch with a mallet. It cut through the heavy construction paper cleanly, creating perfect 1/2" discs. I believe this punch would work equally well on cardboard or leather.

It works.
Works as advertised, put some wood behind it, hit with a hammer a few times, cut holes in double canvas.

Nice Leather Punch
Purchased this to enlarge holes in some guitar straps I recently bought. Used with a 14oz mallet and plastic backing board it cut some nice clean holes where needed.

good for leather not much to much metal
i thought this could be use to punch out some slightly smaller than 1/2 inch metal disks for hole covers, and it tore up the metal and the edge started to roll.

Not a precision tool, but close enough and sharp. For the price it was OK.
These are not precision tools. I ordered 10mm, when it arrived was stamped 3/8 and 10.0. Actual measurement was somewhere between the two, 9.87 to 9.97 mm diameter. It was sharp enough for cutting #4 plastic, corrugated cardboard and cereal box cardboard. I feel confident it would cut leather and most rubber gasket materials with one good rap. I am using it with a small hammer and a nylon cutting board, it cuts with one good rap. It has not chipped. It has already deformed on the top/hammer side. I do not think this is hardened tool steel. I am storing it in the finger of an old work glove with a couple drops of oil. I am using this to make 410 bore shotshell overshot cards.

A solid madeTool
This punch is working well so far making wads for reloading purposes.. A fast way to use this punch is to clamp it in a Vice with cloth or thin wood so you dount marr it , stand the puch up vertically , lay the material to be punched on top of the cutting edge and hit firmly with a rubber or wood mallet..Place some kindof materialor tape around the cutout if you are making alot of your items, that way they won't fall out. For the price I think it is a good buy.

Bought this to Repair Snowblower
Used this to punch new bolt holes into rubber blades i was making for my Snowjoe Blower. Worked perfectly, and saved me a lot of $$$$ compared to buying manufacturers blade edges.

Makes quick work of leather
I got one to punch some holes in the leather ends of a guitar strap so I could fit some strap locks without the traditional massive warping associated with the oversized diameter of the lock relative to the hole in the end of the strap. Two whacks later and the locks fit nicely - a first.

Great 5/16” punch
This is a high quality punch that works great and is easy to clean. Nuff said!

Disappointed
Disappointed in this. It wasn't sharp all the way around and so consistently would cut 75% of the hole but would leave 25% uncut. Will throw it out and buy a different brand.
