Needs to be sharpened
Make sure you sharpen it before you use it.

Great when used with red silicone material
Great size arch punch to make perfect round silicone disks. East to use, just hammer , backed by only book, to make pew pew disks.

Completed what I needed but didn’t last long
I bought this for the sole purpose of punching holes in the weather stripping of my Toyota Tacoma to install a roof rack. It worked well while it lasted. On the 10th and final hole the punch broke as seen in the image supplied. We were able to finish the final hole using just the tip of the punch. While I am choosing not to return the item as defective because I believe the 12$ ish dollars it cost was worth what I got out of it (like I said, I only needed it for this task), I would proceed with caution if looking to purchase this item. Afterwards, I went on to read some of the lesser reviews of this and others have experienced the exact same issue while doing the same project. Be warned, you may or may not finish your project. Had this broke earlier and made me unable to finish my roof rack installation, I would have been pretty upset, but for me, I was able to complete what I needed to do, but nothing more.

Great for .50-70 wads
This seems to be a well made punch. I tried it out on some 1/8” thick felt that I m going to use for 50-70 powder wads. They fit nicely into the brass.

Good and Inexpensive
It is solidly built, but it needs sharpening when you receive it. There is no case to keep it sharp in your tool box, so you'll have to rig something up.

Theres a right and wrong way to use these
First of all the likes: -Nice price -Strong enough metal -Bladed circle on mine was perfect from the company -Nice size Now the dislikes: -Welding job left much to be desired -It was not packaged well so the delivery guy dropped it over the fence and it landed on the blade dinging it -The inside of the blade was not machined so it took away from the sharpness Problems and solutions from past ratings: 1. The ratings showing the tool smashed in or busted made me truly wonder about the credibility of this product. However, knowing the welding wasnt ideal I opted for a one pound rubber mallet tool and used a 2x4 piece of wood cut in two short pieces then an art cutting pad on top. I was able to cut the kind of black foam thats closer to a wet suit and about 6 mm thick with ease and one center tap to dig in, 4 taps slightly angled in the four directions followed by one centered to finish and was able to cut 40 in 7.5 minutes. **Notice: I used a Dremel sanding stone to file the inside to make it clean and sharper. The trick is to stabilize the Dremel hand by putting the forearm on a table or something and keeping stiff a the correct angle pointing down the center of the cutting hole and do the same with your left holding this tool and go in a circle spinning the blade as it gently is bushed by the sander like youre sweeping the surface away because its easy to grind at second out of two setting on the basic Dremel. Dont let the Dremel take any of the perfect blade circle out. ***WEAR SAFETY GLASSES so you can look closely and not have sparks or metal shot in your eye. If this gets enough upvotes Ill add pictures. Conclusion: With the right use and possibly cleaning up this thing is great and I am very happy I ordered it and may even get another one as backup for my clumsy tendencies (I may drop it on my garage floor and ruin the blade or something)

Great punch cutter for making linen patches
The media could not be loaded. It arrives fairly dull so be prepared to sharpen it if you are cutting fabric. It seems to cut through multiple layers (8 layers folded) better than one layer, backed with a solid piece of wood. Seems solid enough if you do not beat it with a metal hammer. I used a dead fall mallet and it worked fine. The welds are not the best quality but they will suffice if care is taken when using the punch. Pretty sure you could also use this with an arbor press to pressure cut materials.

Worth it's value
I don't normally leave reviews. Alot of the times Amazon tools just need to get you through until you can get a quality tool. This is a quality tool. Arrived today. For a economic price in Canada at free 2 day shipping. It doesn't get much better to also be surprised by the quality. Sharp out of the box but not to my personal standards. I would still polish it now at least. Pictures are used fresh out of the box and alot it's still ready to go more. Looks like it could be drop forged. Solid construction next to no wear from it's heavy first time use. Deep recessed markings for size. (This matters lots of cheap tools the markings wear off in the first few weeks) It got 5 stars because it is a ready sharp quality tool that is for leatherwork available in Canada at an affordable price range even for the larger sizes and 2 day shipping on top of all that

Not the quality I was expecting from General
The last place I want to buy tools from is India. Guess where these are made... yup, India. Crap!

Could be way better!
Piss poor grinding job! The cutting edge is very course. Ground with a 40 or 60 sanding belt. The cutting edge could be ground with finer stone or sanding belt.

Beware: This 3/8" punch makes a 7/16" hole
Completely misleading. This 3/8" punch makes a 7/16" hole. If you only need a punch to be "about 3/8" this will work, if you actually need a 3/8" hole, this punch makes the hole too big.

1-1\2"arch punch
Robust & well built. Punched cleanly through veg tan hide. Sturdy enough to be a generational tool.
