When recharging keep a close eye on them
These beads lasted about a year in my closet before needing recharge. I decided to recharge them out of the container on foil in the oven at 250 F for 3 hours. Decided to take them out at 2.5 hours because several appeared to be black. Upon inspection and some research I have somehow burned / ruined over a fourth of the beads by baking at an "acceptable" temperature. My advice, inspect the beads every 30 minutes (or 15 when they've been in the oven awhile). It would be more ideal to have beads that aren't completely dehydrated vs beads that are destroyed. I ended up having to throw my batch away and will be purchasing new silica gel.

Well, my guns* ain't rusted a bit since I started using this. But to be fair, they are well oiled. And kept in socks. Not regular socks, but those silicon impregnated deals that also help prevent corrosifying of ferrous metals. That means they have iron in them. Fe. The stuff that kills stars (no, really - once a star starts producing Iron, it can die in seconds...look it up. I thought something as big as a star would take years to die because of the production of iron, but I just heard Mike Rowe talkin' about it on some universe show...and apparently it only takes seconds). Makes ya wonder how come there is so much of it around... *now if your from the Gubment, this in no way means that I posses any type of firearm. I may call my steel pipe collection inside that there safe 'guns'. (Adjusts tin foil hat). Imma gonna hafta see some kinda warrant to open my alleged safe, which by the way, is nice and dry thanks to this here can o' dryness. Hint - I magic markered the baking instructions on the can for when it comes to drying them pellets out again. I just have to do that when the family ain't home. First of all, the ol' lady don't like her oven being used for non food type extra curriculars...don't get me started on the powder coating fiasco of 2014. Secondly, my kid ain't so smart on account of that old Buick we left him sittin in with the car runnin in the garage. Yup, plum forgot to open the door. My wife's sister can flap her gums for hours. We didn't forget him as much as we were trapped hearing about how Aunt Judy was trying to finagle her out of her part of Uncle Lesters will. (Uncle Lester is gonna live forever, so the joke is on her). Well, the kid ain't been the same since, and he's liable to go stuffin them pellets down his gullet thinkin' they're candy bits. I can't trust him around fishin' tackle no more either, that's for sure.

Simple, easy to use option to control humidity.
Takes up very little space and provides an effective solution to keep humidity out of a safe or cabinet. Simple to use. Easy to see when it needs to be reset (baked) back to like-new.

Doesn't last as long as some
I decided to purchase this because I had purchased one at my local gun store and it worked good. This one was cheaper on Amazon for around $12.99 when purchased. They both do a good job in the safe. However I have noticed this one lasts for about a month and then needs to be recharged. I always recharge it out of the can. I put it on a cookie tin pan, lined with parchment paper. The parchment paper helps with getting the beads back in the canister. My oven does pretty good set at 250 temp for three hours. In the picture the green beads are when they need to be recharged. The golden yellow beads are after they have been cooked for three hours.

Lasted 9 months before needed a recharge
I have a gun safe with no electrical port. I needed something to keep moisture down inside it. The safe is located in a controlled environment. Humidity was not too bad in the surrounding location however, inside the safe the humidity was always higher than the outside. The safe is rather large so I added two inside it along with a battery operated monitor. Within 24 hours it dropped the humidity inside to 50% . The humidity stayed constant as long as the door was closed. It was nearly 9 months before I noticed the humidity rising again. I placed the pellets on a cookie sheet and placed them in my oven. The temp was set @ 235. It took well over three hours too turn all the pellets yellow again. They are back in the safe and I consider this item a good buy. Note: if your area has high humidity expect to recharge them more often. Your humidity in the area where it is located will greatly affect the usefulness of this item.

100% Indicating
Just received so no comment on effectiveness. Do very much like the canister; should be, hope it is, stainless steel. Reason for early comment is that I was surprised to see that all the beads are indicating. That's what I wanted and what I thought I bought but, I saw somewhere, perhaps in reviews or seller's store, images that showed orange indicating beads in lid only, and clear, non-indicating beads in the rest of the can. Seeing that, clear beads, I felt cheated. I also felt that just a handful of beads in a tray in the lid would not be a good indicator of the absorption level of 99.9% of the rest so I was skeptical - of what I was seeing as well as the effectiveness of the indicating feature. All beads are orange indicating. Hooray!

EXCELLENT!!
I purchased this to remove humidity from my safe which holds pro DSLR camera gear. I tried standard silica packets and the laundry demudifier style before this and neither of those worked. I put the canister in the safe with 1/4 level of beads and it dropped the humidity from 49% to 39% in half a day. It was down to 36% at the 24-hour mark. That’s a little too low for camera gear so I’m running with 1/8 canister right now (medium size safe). After one month, the level went form 39% to 46% so I removed the beads and they were black (ready for recharging). I just replaced the beads but will continue to monitor the humidity with my hygrometer. Very easy to use and very effective!

Good desiccant, poor container
I love the effectiveness of these. I have two of these cans mounted in my very large gun safe and they keep it nice and dry inside. They are very easy to recharge in the oven for continued use. My only complaint is that the can itself is some cheap steel that develops rust all over it quickly. The first can I bought about 3 years ago now looks like it came from a scrap yard due to the rust. This has not affected the effectiveness of the desiccant however it looks like trash so I recently tossed the container out and just have the desiccant on a small baking tray on the bottom of my safe now. For the price and intended purpose it is really too bad the manufacturer uses a cheap steel that rusts so easily. The can should be either some type of aluminum or stainless steel. Three stars overall only because the desiccant works so well, desiccant gets five stars and the container gets zero stars in my opinion.

The little window in the lid to check indicator status is a nice touch. Maybe a little pricey
Dessicant's indicator changes colour upon depletion and back upon regeneration as advertised, metal case is solid but pliable enough to bend back any dents you might inflict.
