Practice first!

I used this to repair a very good all-climate construction jacket that had a hole melted in it (probably an 8-year-old with a smores fork...!). I put two strips on the back of the jacket, so it would look like an original safety feature, not a repair. I secured the fabric on my workbench using heavy weights. I found that the best technique was to remove the narrower strip of backing paper, and then position the top of the strip as accurately as possible (it tries to roll up and stick to itself, so this requires considerable care). There were quite a lot of wrinkles in the strip; locating the narrower edge first allowed me to rub most of those out before removing the remainder of the backing. The result looks pretty good. If you have some surplus strip, I recommend experimenting with a small piece before committing yourself to a larger project. In particular, I found that the backing paper was reluctant to take pencil markings, so if you are trying to mark out complex shapes you may have to be ingenious... Now to see how well this stands up to bad weather and being washed.

Perfect For Kid’s Coat

Bought this to help cover a rip on the elbow of my son’s Columbia raincoat. Was easy to apply and has been super durable. We cut a second piece to put on the other elbow and you wouldn’t even know unless I told you (or you spent a weird amount of time looking at the elbows). Absolutely impressed.

USES: clothes, kid's backpacks, hiking/running/biking at night, tents, bear cans, helmets, cat/dog collar PROS: very reflective, adheres well in different surfaces/fabrics CONS: not super durable in every surface/fabric (peels off, does not last long if washing)

Best on a very smooth surface

I bought this for my horse blankets. I have two blankets, one is slightly more textured than the other. The tape has been fine on the blanket that has the smoother surface, even with my horse rolling with the blanket on. When I put it on the other blanket, I could tell right away that it wasn't going to stay on. I made sure that the surface was clean, I cleaned the area with alcohol first and I even heated the surface after I applied the tape with an iron. Unfortunately the tape only stayed on for a couple of weeks.

Easy, effective, and durable

I added some reflective strips on my running jacket (the triangles and thin rectangles in the pic) and they have held up remarkably well for over two years and many washings. They are actually in better shape than the factory applied reflective patches (trapezoid by the collar and brand name).

versitile and durable

I cut this tape into one-inch strips to put onto my rain jacket. I was concerned that they might not stay on, but they're very much part of the jacket now and show no signs of ever coming off. They provide the reflective visibility that I need for walking on those gray rainy days or nights. Easy to apply.

Worked well for repairing a Proviz jacket!

I used this to fix a Proviz 360 Reflect jacket that had gotten slashed during a bicycle accident. It worked great, altho it's not quite a 'color' match; it looks slightly greyer in normal light, and reflects somewhat differently compared to the. I ended up deciding to use it to tape the inside closed for the longer stretch, rather than taping the outside for the entire length of the tear. It's not super easy to tape but if you're careful about it then it works well; I was even able to adjust parts that were slightly off. The only reason for not being 5 stars is that it would have been nicer for it to be a closer color match in normal light. Also, the package appeared to have been opened and returned, altho unused (the packaging plastic was cut, but the length of the tape was still the original length). I've worn the jacket while biking in the rain since then, and it's held up fine. My repair was not in an area that is flexed a lot tho, so I can't speak yet for how well it does for those use cases.

My dog's seen now!

I put this on my dog's backpack and now he can be seen a mile away (even without his personal light)! The tape very reflexive and is easy to remove if placed in the wrong spot but I couldn't reapply it afterwards. Besides that, the roll was very tight so it can be a little hard to work with at times

Very reflective, easy to use

Used it to add visibility to my black coats. The tape seems really reflective (I used the flash in my second picture to show the flare it creates) and easy to apply. You get a a very decent length of it too so you can stick some on several coats and shoes and still have a spare length in case any does fall off. The backing has a grid so you can measure and cut straight pieces, it's very convenient. It seems to stick pretty well so far but it possible to peel it off, so I'm curious as to how long it will stay on my coats. The price is a bit high for my taste, but if the stuff lasts me several years and I don't get run over by cars, maybe that's a good compromise.

Great product. Some inconsistencies with ads

Adheres excellently. Is super bright and light-catching. Wish there was more on the roll! Does NOT come with pre-cut shapes which the pictures seem to imply

Sticks well, really reflective

Flexible and good adhesive, great for repairs of gear. Hint: round the edges to avoid lifting! I used it to repair ski patrol gear, it stands up to a lot of abuse on the hill.
