The right tool at the right price
Lost a few pairs of work-bought Klein wire strippers/crimpers and decided to the right thing and bought my own. Spotted these at Ace and liked that they were very similar so I picked up a pair. Old habits die hard so I ordered 4 from Amazon after losing my first GB strippers. This was the right price to always have a few spares at home and in my shop. Only 2 cons for me - the grips are a little bulky and I'd like them just a little bit better if the gauge indicators were on both sides of the crimper

Alright Tool, Mediocre Stripping
I owned one of the older Gardner Bender multi-purpose crimp and strip tools which very similar to this tool and I really enjoyed it. Unfortunately I lost my original stripper so I had to a buy a new one. I figured since the original tool worked so well I would see if I could go on Amazon to find it. I found this tool which looks extremely similar to the old version - the only noticeable visible difference is the handles are different. Sadly, this stripper does not work as well as the original. The gap between the stripper holes are larger than they are supposed to be so you either have to grip extremely hard to get the holes to close completely or you have to go down a size to get the jacket to cut fully through. I'm not sure if this is a manufacturing defect on this particular unit or a design defect. I find myself spinning the tool around once I have it clamped onto a wire to try to get it to fully cut through the jacket. The snips at the end of the tool work well for cutting copper wire and overall the tool is functional, but hard to use. I would recommend another tool if your primary use is to strip wires.

Durable
Have used these for years my job works them pretty hard and they have just replaced them after 15 years. The only knock on them is the wire cutter doesn't last long but I use the for crimping not cutting.

Gardner Bender GS-370
For some reason, I lose stripping pliers with alarming frequency. I've bought several pair over the years, both for professional and home use, and this item (my second pair, alas) was a wonderful discovery years ago. You can spend a lot more money for "premium" tool brands, but you won't get a noticeably better pair of strippers for all the extra cash. They work great and are quite durable, and the stripping teeth are on the "correct" side of the hinge. These bad-boys were at my door in short order for only $9.56 with shipping, and as a pleasant surprise, the grips are much nicer than the first pair I bought in 1996 (for more money, even then). Sorry, tool-truck guy, these are every bit as good as yours at a fraction of the price. I can't say enough good about these.

Bought three- one for the workshop, one for the electrical toolbox, one for the kitchen drawer. Now maybe I'll be able to FIND one when I need it.

Not heavy duty
The metal handles seem "soft" as I found they flex and twist when crimping. Stripping works fine but I bought these to crimp insulated connectors which these can do, but not sure for how long. I've used better. GB Gardner Bender GS-366 Multi-Purpose Crimp & Strip Tool

Can't go wrong with these!
Great solid pair of wire strippers/crimpers for the price. Can't go wrong with these and they are less than half the price of Klein's version. They get the job done-no problems. I recommend.

Good quality
This stripping / crimping tool works really well so far. The edges are sharp and they cut to just the right depth. The handles could be slightly more comfortable but they're not bad by any means and they are way better than the cheap tool I have been using. The build quality is very good.

Good Tool!
Great Tool. Nice and strong. Heavy duty feel to it and works great for cutting stripping and looping wires. Havent tried the crimper yet though.
