Excellent feeder!

I have bought several of these; about 1 every year or two. The finches and birds love it. I have a funnel to make refilling it easy. Eventually the hinge on the lid breaks or it doesn’t snap as well; but its plastic sitting in the sun so that shouldn’t shock anyone. I just used a piece of electrical tape to put it back on. Its also relatively inexpensive compared to the socks you can’t refill so I don’t see that as a deal breaker at all. The sock itself if sturdy and holds up to multiple years of use. As is the handle it hangs from. I’ve even left some out through a winter. Its a good product.

My Favorite Thistle Feeder

I had one of these thistle feeders years ago. I hadn’t been able to find one in a store again, so I was thrilled to find it online. I bought two. The hinged top makes it SO much easier to handle. Yellow for goldfinches!! I ????

Wow, the Birds Love it !!!

The birds love it, attracts many birds at once. Not sure if it's possible to replace the sock or not ?? Didn't want to break it, to see if possible when sock gets old. Would be nice to be able to replace the sock, as is possible on other similar bird feeders. Overall, good product at a decent price. Thank You

Makes Birds Smile!

I like this feeder and gave it 4 stars because it's not the most durable product. It's very easy to use, the birds love it, but you can plan on replacing it after one or 2 seasons. The bottom section is fine and long lasting, but the plastic top eventually snaps off the hinge....at least it did in my case. Even so, it can handle 6 birds at a time easily and I haven't heard one complaint from them yet. This is my second one and I would buy it again.

Lid won’t stay closed

I hoped these would be easy to use, but the lids do not close. I had to tape them closed which defeats the purpose.

Meh, it's ok

I bought this to replace the finch socks I used to buy to have a permanent one that I don't have to replace. The finch socks are so awesome, the birds love them! I found the replaceable ones string is often so thin and weak that it breaks way too often. I thought wouldn't it be amazing if something like this existed and boom, I saw this! I was SO excited to get it! This idea is amazing! I'm not sure if the holes are just a bit too tight on this but the birds don't like this anywhere near as much as the mesh replaceable ones I was buying at the store. The other socks expand a lot when you fill them, giving it more surface area for the birds to walk on. This doesn't expand much when it's full, seems they struggle a bit to move around on it, not as easy for them. I do see a bird on there now and then, but nothing like before. Same seed. Design is really neat with the lid, quality is there...just not sure why the birds don't seem all that interested like they were with other socks.

Easy feeder

The only thing I didn't like is that you can't buy replacement socks for it. I've had to mend mine because the holes eventually rip because of the birds beaks getting the seeds. This product should come with replacement socks and you should be able to buy these nyjger socks for all finch feeders that require socks.

Doesn't seem to attract many finches. We have had it up for a couple of weeks now with other feeders. We have lots of finches but they don't feed of the bag very often.

Ok, but not great like solid feeders

These are handy in a pinch, but the sock material doesn't stand up and don't seem to last very long. Gently suggest you pay the extra money and get a solid nyger feeder..like I did after.
