Works with Bayco SL-2125

I lost the original magnetic hook for my Bayco SL-2125 drop light, and this item is a perfect replacement. I spent an hour looking for the original one, until I finally gave up and ordered this part. The price is right, and I didn't have to pay shipping for orders over $49. When I received the replacement hook, I thought, "wouldn't it be funny if the old one showed up, now that I've paid for this?" This time, I looked over the area where I'd last used the drop light, and found the original hook attached to the top of a cardboard box. So now I have a spare for the next time I lose the hook!

I have two of the Bayco NSR-2168B worklights. These lights see regular use and have been great; the only downside is that the magnetic hook that comes with the light is very fragile. On Bayco's website it specifically says that this replacement hook, part number 2166-HOOK is the replacement for the NSR-2168B worklight. The way the hook mounts to the light is by magnetism. There is a small rare-earth magnet epoxied into the top of the light, and a second magnet of the same type is epoxied into the bottom of the hook body. Obviously, the magnetic pole of the magnets has to be oriented correctly or the hook and the light will repel each other instead of stick to each other. You can't invert the magnets yourself since they are epoxied into recesses in the light body and hook body. I ordered four of these replacement hooks and all four had their magnets epoxied into them with the magnetic pole inverted. Both of my NSR-2168B lights repel all four of the replacement hooks. Amazon clearly bought a bulk quantity factory defects.
