Love it!!

I should've take a picture because I love how this looks at my driveway, day or night, its so pretty both lit or not! It added a little something extra to my yard so I'm glad I bought it.

I purchased this light in 2017 and here we are still going! Couple that with the fact I removed it from original house, stored it, put it at a second house and it still works great! They should name it Old Faithful!

Great Alternative Light Fixture

Works great as a replacement for a standard pole mount fixture that I could no longer use because the underground wire is broken. To save the expense of having a new wire run I decided to give this a try. It seems to be well constructed for a plastic fixture, it is fairly heavy and everything fits. There are other Gama Sonic solar pole lights available that use metal construction but they cost more than I wanted to spend and this one looks great, similar to the original fixture. One thing that the advertisements don't tell you is that it has a place to install a second battery to extend the range of time it can operate. I have ordered a second battery and would have ordered it at the same time if I knew it had a place for one. Amazon does not sell the battery but I found it at one of the "big box" home improvement stores. Both batteries are replaceable and Gama Sonic says the batteries should last about 3 years which would be great. It also has a winter/summer switch which dims the light for longer operating range. On the "summer" (bright) setting it is almost as bright as a 25 watt incandescent bulb, on the "winter" setting it's somewhat less. Operating on one battery in the late summer on the "summer" (brighter) setting it runs for about 8 hours at night after a full sunny day. I haven't received the second battery yet so I can't say how long it runs with that. Overall I am happy with it. It's nice to have some light on the sidewalk once again. Update: After installing the second battery and leaving it cycle for several days, it stays on from dusk until dawn (about 10 hours) on the "summer" setting. This again is in late summer with full sunny days. I don't think the solar cells will be able to keep both batteries charged fully during the winter after a cloudy day but I'll have to see how much running time I get. I don't know how long this kind of fixture has been on the market but I wish I had known about it sooner. I came home after dark and it was nice to see the area lit again. It's not as bright as the 40 Watt bulb I use to use but it makes a decent amount of light with no energy cost and no expense to replace the defective power cable to the pole. I know a couple of people with the old gas light fixtures that run 24/7, this fixture would be a great alternative for those too. Update: As I suspected on short, cloudy winter days you don't get a full night of light but still it's better than no light at all. So overall I would still buy this fixture. It's a great alternative light.

Inexpensive and lots of light

This is totally made out of plastic, so I am not sure how long it will last. So far going strong after a month or so installed. My last one was a pot metal, unfortunately it met the dog :) . I think the overall design is good and better sealed than my other one. Personally I'd like to see some metal in a few places, as I know plastic and sunlight don't usually make for a long lasting item.

Theyre aight

Theyre not too bright, more of a soft light for about 4 feet around the light post. I have mine on 5-6 ft pillars. For 80 bucks i wish they were brighter. Ive had them about a year and last pretty much all night in the summer.

Not what they used to be.

I have bought several of these Baytown 2 models over the past Decade. this one is the same model but a cheaply built plastic variation of the original metal model. This version isn't designed for the original threaded lamp post but rather any old cheap post of the correct diameter. This is not worth the price.

Absolutely love this solar light!!!

I absolutely love this solar light. This is my 2nd one. My 1st one lasted me 5+ years! I have it on an old electrical light pole down by my dock, and it lights up my dock and part of my yard. Very easy to install! The rechargeable battery that comes with it is pretty darn good! I purchased an extra battery that I tried to use in my 1st light but it didn't seem to help it stay on or recharge any better. Not sure if I was doing something wrong or not, but that is why I purchased a 2nd light. I live in Florida and the light gets full sun for 3/4 of daylight hours. It turns on automatically at dusk and off at sunrise. I will definitely purchase another one to have on hand when this one will no longer hold a charge all night...and seeing as my first light lasted 5 years, and I don't know if they will still be making this light by the time I need another...I guess I better get another one ordered. Oh, one last thing, my neighbors all have electric lights down by their docks and my solar light is just as bright as there lights are!! ????

This post is after 3+ weeks and I'm telling you DO NOT BUY! They do not last through the night and that is with the second battery. Bad light and bad life.. DO NOT BUY! First post: September 24th: Sunrise 7:07 Set 19:12 - single battery, sunny charging day of more than 8 hours and it stayed bright through the night. Looks very well built, instructions are simple and helpful but charging directions need to be rewritten. Don't understand why summer/winter setting, if you think about it... it makes no sense: charging time, brightness or duration??? Very bright, but sheds no light from a 9' pole mount, so no help for a street/pathway application (may be OK for lower post (3' maybe)) because the design seems to shed the light out not down that is needed on a 9' pole. The screws that attach the lamp to a 3" pole should be longer but other than that... it's a quality product, if only it gave more light.

Après 11 jours batterie sont vide panneau solaire?

Tous est beau, facile à installer MAIS Après 11 jours l’es batterie sont décharger. J’ai même ajouter la batterie auxiliaire les je croix que les panneau solaire ne sont pas assez puissant pour recharger les batteries? Je suis très dessus.

Quality product

Very well built product. Comes with 3 mounting options. Perfectly fits my poles (I bought the second one after a year of buying the first one) and replaced regular lights. It isn't too bright comparing to 6w LED bulb, but it is sufficient. The first fixture survived (Canadian) winter with no issues. I recommend this product.

if placed in full sun, these will run brightly from dusk to dawn

over the years, i have had up to 20 of these lamps.they’re fantastic,and will last for years without fuss. the newer models have a replaceable bulb, but i am not sure they last any longer.

it's excellent

I ordered two for my front yard posts. it's easy to install. The happiest thing is they kept bright a whole night, and were bright for several hours in the next night eventhough it's totally cloudy during the day. I like them very much. It's worthy to buy!
