Much quieter and great smoothies.
Fantastic purchase so far (2weeks). Used every morning for smoothies. Much quieter. Can actually speak in same room without screaming, not bothersome in the next room. Really like the ease of use. The automatic function is wonderful. Press the smooth button and walk away, no ice chunks at all-not even small ones. Self cleaning function really saves time.

FIX - Was leaking from the bottom
Great power and blends everything nicely. I started noticing some liquids were leaking out from the teeth on the bottom and couldn't find a fix. Low and behold if you press the retention ring (with the 2 holes in the pic) as far as it'll go, it'll press up against the gasket and vouala, no more leaks.

Better than I expected, but also louder.
When the spinney thing on my Jamba blender cup quit spinning, I tried to find a replacement since the base/motor was fine. Alas, this was impossible, so after ridiculous hours of searching, reading ratings, and deciding how much a blender to use only for smoothies was worth to me, I landed on this Hamilton Beach model. I was going primarily for quiet since I value my hearing and wearing ear protection when making food is ridiculous. I wasn't going to spend $400-600 for a blender, so it came down to this one. It is louder than I hoped, and louder than the Jamba was, but I don't think I or my family will suffer hearing loss over it. If you were sleeping anywhere in our large house, though, you would probably rate it as too loud. It does a bang-up job on smoothies, even better than the Jamba. I like that you set it and turn it on and it turns off when it decides it is done. I am pleased with it for the price.

Blessedly quiet for a blender.
The hubby loves to make these gag worthy smoothies every morning consisting of avocado, kale, chard, spinach, and..... orange juice. Yep. Gagged just a little in the back of my throat there. But I digress. Normally, said green bit o' nasty is blended in a Ninja that I am positive was loud enough to wake the dead, as well as me, the wife who never, ever seems to be allowed to sleep. Ever. Is the blender silent? Oh heck no. But the shield that goes over the mixer container and blade makes one heck of a difference. I can barely hear it in the second story bedroom and our kitchen is almost directly below it with an large air vent that transfers sound like an amplifier. As far as functionality, the blender does an amazing job according to the hubby. It has a smoothie setting that automatically does the blending for you freeing you up to go on with your morning routine. It also has a clean setting as well. Double bonus. Another thing I think is great, is that there are metal parts where other blenders, like the Ninja, are made of plastic. Nice durable machine. Plus, it really does make "snow" for your frozen adult bevvies. Winner winner chicken dinner riiiiiiight here!!!

Quiet and easy to use!
I was truly impressed with the noise level of this blender. No, it's not silent, but the sound is almost soothing compared to your typical "screaming" blender. I love the simplicity (I don't need twenty different buttons) and auto-clean setting takes most of the effort out of the cleaning process. I love this thing, anyone who gives it a bad rating has probably never used a blender before LOL

Lots of power, not so quiet
This blender works well for making smoothies and pulverizing fruits and vegetables. It's not however quiet as the description suggests. I put two big towels over it before I turn it on to buffer the sound. The plastic jar is small and leaks where the blades fit into it on the underside. I went to the Hamilton Beach website and there suggestion was to continue using it hoping the leak will stop. It didn't stop and I noticed the retaining ring had come loose. I replaced the retaining ring twice which was no easy feat but the leak continues. In hindsight I wish I would have spent a little more for a Vitamix

Not the worst blender.
It's definitely loud. The noise shield helps a bunch but it's still not as quiet as you'd expect. It blends quite nicely but takes patience and a little assistance. It sits pretty loosely in the base but it's not really a big deal as long as you pay attention and don't mess with it. Easy to clean, though I rinse it right after use anyway. Does it live up to the hype? Not really. Is it worth the price? Sure.

Hamilton Beach vs Ninja in sound test
The media could not be loaded. I first bought the Ninja blender, but it hurt my ears to stand next to it, and when I used it I had to warn everyone in the kitchen before turning it on. In fact, someone I live with said they would pay someone $100 to make that blender quieter. I thought about buying an after market sound cover, but they were more than the blender... about $200. It was cheaper to buy a whole new blender. So I read a lot of reviews and purchased this Hamilton Beach blender. Much quieter. Wish someone had done a sound video to show the difference. The sound shield doesn't do much, but over all it is quieter. Especially the pulse setting. It is sooo quiet on the Hamilton Beach Blender.

Se afloja el aspa y se necesita estar apretando.
Muy buena potencia, le falta una agarradera al vaso ya que para manos pequeñas de necesita tomarlo con las dos manos para servir, el aspa de afloja constantemente, Se debe apretar un tornillo allen que viene por la parte de abajo cada que se afloja el aspa, al aflojarse también se produce goteo de lo que estás licuando.

Muy "inteligente" y bien construida
Esta batidora es muy "inteligente" y está bien construida y vino muy bien empaquetada. Hace un trabajo excelente haciendo mis licuados de proteínas de la mañana. Me gusta que las cuchillas y la jarra sean de una sola pieza. La limpieza es fácil. Es un poco ruidosa, pero no extremadamente molesta.

Perfecta para smoothies :)
Licúa súper padre, solo el vaso estaría bien que fuera poquito más grande pero entiendo que el precio es por el buen motor que tiene. Sí hace ruido pero no es taaaan fuerte como el de otras licuadoras.
