Works Like a Charm
I wrapped this around the hot water heater and except for some dust from the insulation, it was easy and efficient. I wish I'd worn goggles or a mask, but the process didn't take long and I kind of held my breath in case dust particles were an issue. It fits well and makes a big difference in how long it takes the heater to warm up.

Wear an N95... wear googles... wear a wasp suit maybe. Otherwise good product.

Excellent value! We have almost instant hot water, in spite of the cold air in our basement.
This paid for itself in saving our gas bill and less wasted water getting the hot water to the tap. Defiantly recommend this product. I paid our handyman to install it and it was well worth it.

DO THIS NOW. I am saving $10-15 per month. Good insulating wrap. Easy installation. Buy extra tape.
OK, I am a geek who likes to measure things. So far, this insulation appears to save between $10 and $15 a month insulating an 80-gallon water tank. I have a modern oil burner heating system that also heats my domestic hot water. Water lives in an insulated 80 gal. tank. This new insulation reduces my oil usage on hot water between 15-20%. Impressive results over just a few weeks This foil-lined fiberglass mat wrapped around my 80 gallon water heater perfectly. Installation took me about a half-hour, was not challenging at all. DO BUY EXTRA ALUMINUM TAPE. The heavy-duty tape included is simply not enough to do a good job. The foil covering the fiberglass wants taped reinforcements wherever you make a cutout for a panel or a pipe, and I put a tape wrap around the top and the bottom of the water heater to seal it a bit. Wear gloves because you’re working with fiberglass.

Good Product
I looked over the negative reviews before purchasing on several different sites. I bought the larger size 60*90 to ensure my heater was covered. My tape measure showed the product to be the exact size as advertised. The silver lining was thin however it held up to pushing and pulling it in a tight corner to pull around the unit. The provided tape was more than enough and worked with ease if you follow directions and pull the backing down slowly as you put in place. I did notice the bottom portion of the insulation was new looking and the top small portion which was 12" was darker colored - it was pieced together to make the large piece. All in all it was uniform thickness and matched the description. I will let you know if I see cost savings in a month or so. The only downfall is the insulation fibers getting on skin even with gloves, but a good product. I also cover the hot water pipe in one of the insulation tubes to fit my pipe. I have noticed the water in the far bathroom gets hotter quicker in the morning.

Was a little small for wrapping a 50 gal tank
The height was a little short to wrap around and fold over the top of our 50 gal water heater. Making it 6 inches taller would have made all the difference. Fiberglass is awful to deal with, but that is expected. Wear gloves and eye protection.

It is possible to install
The instructions are OK although the pictures are the biggest help. I found the foil strong enough that it was not breaking as others have reported. The tape is just enough to do the side, but I had to use duct tape to do the top of the electric hot water heater. Don't go crazy with trying to get it very tight against the tank, otherwise you probably will break the foil. The yellow insulation works good although if it gets in your nose you will know it the rest of the day. The dust gets on everything. It has a better r value which is why I got this instead of the other products. It is just big enough to surround the tank.

excellent product
the Frost King SP60 insulation blanket arrived quickly and in excellent condition. I is a well made product and easy to install. The insulation is a bit itchy so i would recommend gloves , mask and one of those disposable suits as you will get covered in the stuff. the tape it comes with is of high quality and there is enough to do the job however a few more feet of the stuff would have been nice. If you run into the problem of not enough tape or feel like you want to use more tape around the pipes and what not like I did I would use the foil tape that is used for duct work.

Excellent product
Great product had to cut down to make it fit my water heater perfectly. You must wear a mask when installing and some glasses, it sheds alot and I mean alot of glass fibers, much more then I was expecting, so I had breathed in quite a bit of fibres and started to cough before I figured a mask was a good idea. I have done many homes with insulation and never really bothers me but this stuff does... Other then that and maybe some gloves, it does what it says it does

Great price for R10 rating
Simple and easy to install, but fiberglass matting will shed lots of giberglass dust (cheaper quality) so wear the propper protective clothes and gloves. Maybe even get more aluminum tape to finish wrap with as inclosed amount is just enough to do the job. Good quality overall and a must for hot water heaters put in basements. If you don't like fiberglass dust buy another type, but for the low price and excellent value for R10 rating, you cant go wrong!
