you'll want to stake it down
Not self-furling, so you'll want to stake it down so the wind doesn't blow it around. Easily cut to length if you like.

Good idea, but didn't work as good in practice as we hoped
Set up was really easy. Plug over the hose, and lock the binders. At the beginning the plastic is neatly rolled and when the first rain comes it might work. However - then the wind will start toying with it and put also folds into it. The water will come down and be stuck so that we had to go outside in the rain to make sure that the water was getting out. Furthermore the end of the "hose" was wherever the wind was putting it. Last but not least the wind was also pulling the gutters partially of the wall - which was not great. Be careful! We really wanted this to work, but it didn't for us. Maybe for other folks with less rain / wind it will do great!

I think material is too thin and may not hold up as long as expected. It did work well during a heavy rain, however. If the plastic was thicker and reinforced with a mesh it would be a better product.

Erosion control
I bought this to direct the flow of water away from the foundation of my house coming from a downspout. It works great. It stays rolled up until the rain unrolls it and after a storm it is easy to roll back up by hand. The plastic is tough and it stays on even in heavy winds.

Downspout Disappointment: A Downspout Extender That Doesn't Drain Away Your Troubles!
Introducing the Frost King DE300 Standard Plastic Drain Away Downspout Extender – a product that, unfortunately, does not live up to expectations. While it claims to extend up to 12-feet and help direct water away from your home, this downspout extender may be more of a headache than a help. Let's explore the downspout disappointment that is the Frost King DE300. Pros: Affordable: The Frost King DE300 is a budget-friendly option, which may be appealing to those looking for a quick and inexpensive solution to their downspout needs. Cons: Poor water management: This downspout extender fails to effectively manage water flow, leading to potential issues with water stagnation and algae growth. Environmental concerns: The stagnant water can create an unhealthy environment for local wildlife, such as frogs and lizards, potentially leading to harm or even death. Durability issues: The Frost King DE300's construction is not as robust as other options on the market, leading to potential damage or breakage over time. Installation difficulties: Users may experience challenges with properly installing the downspout extender, adding to the overall disappointment of this product. In conclusion, the Frost King DE300 Standard Plastic Drain Away Downspout Extender may be an affordable option, but its poor water management, environmental concerns, durability issues, and installation difficulties make it hard to recommend. Instead, consider investing in a higher-quality downspout extender that will effectively direct water away from your home and help maintain a healthy environment for both your home and local wildlife. Don't let the downspout disappointment of the Frost King DE300 drain away your peace of mind.

Happy with the product, but lengths are misleading
The product works well and performs as advertised. We needed a way to get the water from the downspout beyond our flower garden area (which was at the base of the downspout). To do this, we needed at least a 6' extension to the bottom of the downspout. The normal heavy plastic extenders (like a bendy straw) that can be found at every hardware store are not long enough. A simple 6'-7' piece of downspout doesn't work in our situation because the elevation needed causes the water to not run out at the end. This is the perfect solution, except that the small holes are punched into the last 2' cause the effective length to be much less than listed. If you look closely a the illustration on the packaging (product image), you can see what I'm talking about. Because of this, we left our too-short bendy-straw extender in place, then added this product to the end of that. That got us the distance away from the flower garden that we needed. Keep in mind that you will consume 6" to 12" when installed on the downspout side, then 2' of the other end will have the little holes punched into it. The effective length of a 8' extender will only be around 5'. Had I known this, I would have purchased the 12' version. Other than that, it has been working great so far. The material is like a super-thick trash bag...or similar to a very high quality Ziploc freezer bag. It doesn't seem like something that will last for 10-15 years, but it should do the job for quite a while. I'm happy with the purchase.

Works great at moving water away from the foundation of my house.
The plastic that is is made from started discoloring in just a few days. The plastic is not breaking down it is just changing color. I think that is to be expected for something that is in the sun all day. I have had to put a few river stones on them to keep them from blowing around. They are very flexible and the wind can blow them back against the house. When the rain water is running through them you dont have that problem. For an easy fix to move water away from your foundation. These are easy to install and only take a minute to connect. I would recommend this product.
